ever. It was Morning Glory with Katherine Hepburn. While Hepburn was exquisite, I found myself waiting impatiently for the scenes that contained Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.! I think I'm an instant fan! Immediately following the movie, I fired up the puter here and researched a bit of information about him! I can most certainly see why women swooned over him in the earlier days, and why some of us still will.. :) |

said she was the granddaughter of Douglas Fairbanks. That must have been Sr. so she would have been the daughter of Jr. Her name was Marina Fairbanks. Any info about her. She was a very nice lady. |

| Comments: | Douglas Fairbanks Jr. has been at the top of my list of all-time favorite actors ever since I first saw that
wonderfully funny kiss in Gunga Din. It broke my heart to hear about his death, and it kills me that so few of his movies are available on video. His filmographies list so many pictures I'd love to see that never turn up even on the obscure cable networks. Why is he so neglected? I hoped that public television -- or at least the Walter Reade Theater -- might do a DF Jr. retrospective after he died, but no sign of any such thing so far. |

| Comments: | I just heard the sad news of Doug's death. He was always
one of my favorites. I adore old movies and I too am an anglophile. Didn't he have a gorgeous voice as well as a handsome face and build? I met his once at a film festival and it was one of the most thrilling moments of my life. He was a true gentleman. I loved him since I was in my teens; I'm now in my mid 30s. It's hard watching all your favorite film stars pass away, but when your favorites date back to the 1920s/30s it must be expected. Still it makes me feel sad. I just found this web site tonight while looking for news on his passing. It's a great site. |

A video company called Grapevine Videos has recently made available WILD HORSE MESA (1925). In his only Western, 16-year old Doug play the kid brother of hero Jack Holt. Also in the film are Noah Berry as the villain (he's wonderful) and Billie Dove as the heroine (she's unbelievably beautiful - two years later she would play with Doug, Sr. in THE BLACK PIRATE).
