It makes me sad to hear that Reverend Shalvin had to go into Cardiac Arrest before dying and after 20 days after his wife death. I give this word to you right now to tell you to look at Psalms 21, That is my favorite Verse whoooo thank you Jesus. I was going to Mount Zion Baptist Church but I am going to now is Bethel Church of God in Christ up the street from there. Pastor Bachus is a good teacher father and a mentor. I hope his son does the same at his church too. God Bless you all at Friendship Baptist Chruch. | Comments: | I have many warm memories of Pastor Hall. There are three that are most vivid. On Youth Day June 1965, his sermon was “If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything.” At the time, these words meant nothing to me, but as the years progressed they became my creed, which I passed on to my children. “No deposit, no return” another sermon, another way of life for my family and me. Finally, “ Stand up for what is right, even if you have to stand alone” If you are right, Jesus is standing with you making you the majority.” These are word that I personally share with every young person that I encounter.
Pastor Hall, Sir, your work is well done. You are the best pastor, the best pastor under the sun. And God said “That’s Good!”I'll meet you on the other shore. |

| Comments: | Hearing of Mrs. Hall traveled some 600 miles across state lines to Maryland. While I did go through the initial emotions of shock and grief, it didn’t last because I know where she will spend eternity.
Mrs. Hall always exemplified Proverbs 31:28-31. Although I am not her blood child, I always felt a motherly connection with her; therefore I feel honored to be among those who call her “Blessed.” Her grace, love and beauty can never be imitated—her life was her testimony. And while we will miss her, knowing where she will spend eternity, comforts the soul. May God comfort the family and FBC. |

At the end of the service, Mrs. Hall had a moment to share with us information concerning Pastor Hall. During that time, she also spoke some very encouraging words that touched my heart tremendously! It felt even better to know that she was praying for me during my sermon on that morning. She stated, once she prayed for me, there was an immediate change in my delivery of the message. Good afternoon. My name is Paige Greenwood. I am here to talk about Mrs. Lucy Mae Hall. Before I tell you what I think about Mrs. Hall, I’d like to congratulate her on being our First Lady for 50 years! Congratulations! I have known Mrs. Hall all of my life. I know that she is my pastor’s one good wife. She walks tall and steady, and with grace. You always see a beautiful smile upon her face. I know Mrs. Hall is very smart. She is a teacher. She’s married to Pastor Hall the very best preacher! You can look at her and tell that she is specially favored. She’s a Christian woman, with three brilliant children, two judges and an educator. And when she speaks in that high pitched voice, we know she will give thanks, and praise, tell a long story and rejoice! And no matter how long it takes for her to finish. We sit back, be patient and we listen. She remembers so much about everyone and their family. I represent the fourth generation, my great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents before me. Thank you Mrs. Hall for all you have done for me. The candy, the kind words, the encouragement, and those things unseen. Mrs. Hall, for you I have the gift of yellow flowers. They symbolize my love, my respect and the beauty in God’s power. For it is through Him that all things live and grow. And you have been a great example for me and others, I know.
