Michael Sarnoff was 16 years old when his bicycle was hit by Tod Minnigerode who thought vodka and valium was a good way to relax on his way home from work. In 1979, murder by DWI was not "really a crime". Tod's penalty was a license suspension and a $800 fine.

North Carolina as a whole thinks the solution to Child Abuse Murder is to KILL THE NEWS. out of sight - out of mind. But not out of my mind. I have only researched the child deaths related to Fort Bragg. A nation that cannot protect it's most helpless and young should not declare another nation 'unfit.' I live in Southern Illinois and I lived 4 doors down from Donna Duncans Family in Johnston City Illinois. And When I found out the Donna and Ernest was charged with killing Donna's son Joseph. I cried for that baby. He was so sweet and innocent. He deserved more then what he got. I think the system failed for him. What I don't understand why was it only Joseph and not his little sister. I went to court and saw a few of the pictures they took and I couldn't go back. I wanted to hurt Donna. But I didn't want to do what she did to her child.

I have a relative on one of those "other" sites. I was 4 when my sister was murdered, and I have spent YEARS looking for information. I then came across that site, and all the info I was looking for was there. Yes, my sister was murdered. We have as a family been involved with Parents of Murdered Children and other support organizations, and we've found healing and solace in telling my sister's story. If we can educate others to be a little more careful, then her death was not in vain. Others don't go around bashing your memorial, and my family is offended personally that you would bash others memorial work. Also, my sister's 15 year old murder remains unsolved. Getting her story out will be our only hope of solving her case. I was looking for other sites to submit her case to when I came across your site. I am shocked that someone who appears to "care" can be so mean. Maybe ONE family would rather their child's memory stay locked in a closet somewhere. All the families of murdered children that I have met over the years would rather not. Please, respectfully, for those of us who do APPRECIATE the content of other memorials, REMOVE that message. So I asked him to leave he beat the crap out of me and told me he would kill me if I went for child support, my son had asama and I could not afford the meds so I asked for help from welfair just to split the cost or something? well they told me to go after the man for child support he should help me, but they helped until I could In fear of those last words I will kill you I am not paying childsupport for the reast of my life really did some damage on my mind? plus I have a 7 year old daughter with adhd to think about too! he never changed a diaper he received his dui two weeks after my son was born went out drinking with in the hour my son was born! He claims this is all a lie in court but God Knows the truth, I just don't see how a judge could rip him away from his mommy and is sister the only life he knows he has never been abused neglected or even left over night anywhere except court order visits with his dad, I guess he has not man enough to kill me but boyish enough to use my love of my life my child take him away and hurt me and his sister, i found a wonderful man that some day I hope to be his wife he so believed in me to fight for custody for two years he spent 25 grand fighting for me believing in me he seen be raise my children for the past 3 years and surly if I was a bad mommy he would know it by now, I just got the news Thursday I walked into court as always head up high confident God knew my son was safe with me and the best place for him, now I just wish I would of never filled for support and maybe got a second job to help pay for medical, but i didn't want to leave him the 9 hours I had to with his condition, i went weeks with only sleeping maybe an hour a night, I was so afraid he would stop breathing, I feel dead inside i get the standard vist everyother weekend we try to talk to him about it and he tells me no he is not leaving me I am his and he loves me he is 3 1/2 years old! I try to keep it together but I have been crying for days and days and my daughter does to and I am trying my best to keep it together for her but how I pray to God for strength? does any one have suggestions, please believe i am not giving up i am taking it to the applet court and if that doesn't work back to custody court? thanks for your time and I have read this entire web site I will keep all in my prayers! |

She was muredered by a"friend", actually my best friends son. In the dead of winter on February 6, 2000. He took my little girl 5 kilometers in the country to a cabin on a 4-wheeler. It was frantic maddening search that lasted for 17 days. She was found buried half naked in the snow. What more can I say?? except I wish that our justice system was more in line like the United States.His life sentence will not be filled. I have the life sentence.

We have also lost a loved one to a violent crime. My sisters' son was murdered on December 24, 2002. His name was Michael S. Yokoi,Jr. He had just celebrated his 26th birthday on December 11th.(13 days before he was gunned down). Michael was on his way to his mother's house for Christmas Eve but never made it. The man that shot and killed my nephew is now incarcerated. This man did not even know my nephew. We are now scheduled to start the jury trial which is on November 19th. We were told that the trial will be 4 weeks. The District Attorney for the State of California told us,"would'nt it be great to have justice for Michael before his first anniversary"... We, both sides of Michael's family, are trying to stay strong. But,with the trial and the holidays coming upon us soon, it's just so hard and we have to relive the pain and suffering all over again. We, our families, all gathered together and we said, "for the love of Michael" we will be strong and stand together as one to keep fighting to get justice that Michael so richly deserves. When justice is served our beloved Michael will finally be in eternal peace in heaven. My sister,Michael's mother, is putting together the final touch on his website dedicated in his memory. | Comments: | Spent the weekend by trying to face the past. Drove by the homes Opal and I grew up in,walked in the parks that we used to play. Went to her old Elementary school,remembered her chubby little face being proud of her "Hair bear bunch" lunch box on the first day of Kindergarten. Walked the route that we took to school,where i promised her that I'd never leave her or would never let any one hurt her. Scooped up dirt and left a rose at the swingset where we would sit and talk and dream about the future. She would tell me about the Kids she would have someday and naively say that "they would all be happy " She would talk about being rich and taking care of my Mother,buying her a big house. Even then ,at age Seven,she struck me as someone who cared about others more than for herself. While sitting on that swingset this weekend I ate the biggest donut i could find.,In honor of her constant worry about weight. The kids at school would tease her about her baby fat and chipmunk cheeks. I then drove to the Junior high school that we attended. I remembered the tiny little "Peanut"with braided pig tails that was tougher than her not yet devoloped awkward Older brother. I remembered how people used to pick on me for being multiracial...the Klan jokes,chasing me,shutting me out from everything.I remember pretending I wan't her brother so she wouldn't be ashamed of me..: but she never was,she alway's said "That's my brother and you better shut your mouth or get a knuckle sandwich"! It didn't matter that it was a Six foot Jock or not...her face would redden and she'd put up her tiny fist and be ready to square off. I remember us going to school hours before any one else, to dance in the school cafeteria with the Juke box. For those few hours we were free to be happy..to be free from ridicule and worry. We would tire out and sit and talk about the future as usual and all her big dreams. I then went to the Junior High that she transfered to. I remember driving up to pick her up and her bringing her all her friends over to see her Big brother. I remembered that years later a school official would say to a reporter,"That Opal's Pimp would pick her up ...the pimp being me,. How that rumor circulated and the police following me every where. How people at highschool said I was a drug dealer,a pimp..etc.. All the while i was just a gangly unsecure kid who played Saxophone and had two guinea pigs...a long shot from being any kind of pimp. These rumors and lies took a life of thier own.I've met people from that era since and they assumed it was true because the police asked them about it. The thing that pains me the most is that some thought I actually had something to do with the Killings. People will choose to believe what they like,but I believe the upcoming trial will open some eyes. I should mention that I recently went to my Twenty year reunion and some of those mentioned that caused us harm back in the day,told me that my family was in thier prayers. I wish Opal could of been there for that....or that i would of heard those things when she was killed. Anyway... I then drove down to the River. It felt strange. There were two fisherman standing on the bank on about where she was found. Families and couples in Love were walking by,laughing ,being happy,probably talking about their futures. Admist all this I sat on the bank and couldn't help it..but cried some. I cried for my Mother who never got to see her daughter grow up...I cried about what Opal went through while alive..i also cried about letting Opal down and breaking my promise about never letting anyone hurt her. I also cried for my young daughter .. worried about her future in this scary world. The fishermen averted thier glance as this "crazy crying man" left a Rose and two donuts on the bank.Takes all kinds they probably thought to themselves.Feeling mentally exhausted and missing my family even more ,I blew Opal's spirit a kiss and hurried home for Dinner. |

| Comments: | hi i am only 15 and i knew there were alot of deaths in and off school campas. i just went through another pg showing people killed from gun shootings at school and to see these people killed at such a young age makes me "think before i act". its tear shaking that these people have the courage to kill somebody and try and act as though nothing will happen in the end but something always does. i have no room to hate those people however i do have room to be against it. i hope that in time these familes can heal and move on to remember that their loved one is in a better place.
thanks for putting these pages up to have people look at them it can make those teens think twice before they want to harm another person. |

| Comments: | gina dawn brooks.didnt know her.1989 according to the fredricktown,mo newspaper some witness , got to at least talk and be in the paper were others like me werent.sheriff young arranged for certain witness to be hypmotized by a forensic hypnosis police officer from st.gen,mo to enhance there memory.i was a witness before it was even aired on tv or news paper.before her abduction was aired out in the open there was a light blue station wagon with brown paneling on both sides that stopped and let me walk in front of the car.there were 3 men and a girl .i only seen her legs.they stopped .let me walk in front of there car.they were smiling and even took time out to wave at my mother that was setting on the front porch this was on theodore street in flat river,missouri.i just want gina dawn brooks parents to know all though i turned this in by paper,phone and in person.i was never questioned by any of the sheriff departments.including fredricktown,mo.in fact the sherifff was telling me how many stories he had on the case.he acted like he wasnt interested in what i had to say.i was not treated as a united states civilian.sheriff young did not ask me to be hypmotized by the police officer in st.gen,mo.when i called farmington,mo and wanted to talk to the psycics that were on the case ,the man i talked to that was supposed to got the psycics here forgot the psycics name and were they were from.i am sorry about gina dawn books are any other victims that has been abducted.i myself was abducted a few years back.i dont know who my abductors were just imformation some people gave. i was one of the lucky ones and survived.i have heard different stories about gina dawn brooks in the past and now.i work with one lady before that said she was kinned to one of the abductors,i work now with a girl that says she went to school with gina before and also a man that says he is kinned to her.maybe it is a quicedence ,i work with them or maybe they heard my stories before.i did tell them my stories too.i am not even sure if this was ginas abductors ,it did happen at the same time and before it was aired.,maybe the police departments didnt think it was the same people,because i never got the respect of them asking me questions and treating me with my rights . if the brooks family wants to ask me any questions about this ,i would be glad to talk them.i would like to find out who the forensic police officer was from st.gen,mo and ask him and sheriff young why i wasnt qualified to be hypmotized.i think the brooks family ought to ask the sheriff departments ,even if linda gave you stories by paper,phone and in person.why didnt any of them ask her questions.like what did they look like ?what did they have on?did you see a license plate?. ,i have been going to librarys all these years,reading these stories, talking to people,writing places on the computer,calling people and law officials,and still today ,not one person "writes me back , answer my phone calls,if i tell the stories in person to civilians they might ask maybe a question,but they dont really ask any imformation.one lady told me,"my god ,why dont you drop it look how many years it has been." |

mistreatment of children. There is a particularly poignant story in the March issue of Life Magazine about a young boy named Joseph Duncan who was beaten to death in Southern Illinois by his mother's boyfriend. That story has made a profound impact on me and I have been unable to get it out of my mind. maintaining this site, your msg is much needed about the
poor kids who've been murdered and victims of crime! As soon
as she puts an awards page I hope you'll accept a "Best Msg"
award which I will paste in this dreambook, until you get a
page just for awards, Really there can't be enough of these
sites! I couldn't believe little Jon Benet, whether parents
did it or not, you'd think the cops wouldn't have
contaminated the crime scene! Anyway thank you for meeting
