A few comments though on origins of Vint name. I don't think that it can be Gaelic...the letter v or w doesn't exist in Gaelic language so no Vint or Wint or similiar.

Also Swedish place names doesn't seem to fit well...place name in Sweden beginning Vint all have er following and certainly no Vints in Great Britain seems to have come from Scandanavia

Vints in the UK feature predominately in the South of England, suggesting a link to France or similiar..interestingly enough there is a town in france, Douai, where the inhabitants are called "vint' d'osier". Vint apparently means 'belly in the local dialect.
