| Comments: | New Year's Eve, 2003, my father brought home the most precious little fur ball. Mom was not the happiest, for she and my father had made a deal that at their age, a dog was a huge reponsibility. Our last dog, a German Shepard, Lord William Robert a.k.a., BILLY BOB, lived for 13 years and 7 months, my mother was not the happiest when my father came home New Year's Eve 2003, with a precious ball of fur, later named Frangipani,a.k.a. FAWN. Well, after Fawn was called a "mutt dog" by Mom many a time, three months after Fawn arrived, Mom and Dad showed up at my place of work with another precious ball of fur, given the name of FABIO. Perfect!!! She said she had to get a play mate for Fawn. They are the best brother and sister I could have asked for. Enjoy your Aussie, I have enjoyed each moment with mine. |

| Comments: | After having our tri-color collie for seven years we had to have her put to sleep. It was the hardest thing to go through because she was the best. We got another puppy for our daughter but he turned mean towards her so we purchased a red merle Austrailian Shepard and named her Cloeybear. She has such a goofy personality and when she wants to play she will come up to us and kick her back feet so they make noise to get our attention. The only problem we have is that she wasn't socialized when she was a baby and we think the adults that had the litter were maen to the pups because she loves kids and will make up to most women but I have a big problem with her when men come around, she will bark and growl at them, and doesn't want anything to do with them. She warmed up to my husband very quickly and they are inseperable. She is now 6 months old and weighs about 30 pounds but thinks that she's a lap dog, especially when I'm watching T.V. she'll climb up on my shoulder and watch it with me. |

| Comments: | About a month ago My husband and I went to a dog pound just outside of Burlington,NC. We went inside to pick out a New dog, because our other dog(Lab-Setter mixed) died of cancer. We had intended to get another Lab-Setter mixed. But low and beholded I noticed these tiny brown puppy toes peeking out of the cage. So i looked at her. While I was looking at Her; My husband Jimmy found a Lab mixed and called me over. He had taken to the dog. So I could not make up my mind between them. So we had one of the workers there take both of them to the play yard. Well the lab mix showed us a hyper attiude by pushing the other puppy around. My husband Jimmy reached down and picked up the puppy. She instantly started to lick his face and wag her tail. He instantly fell in Love with and wanted to resue her from the lab mix. Well we picked her out. On her chart it said she was a austrian shepard. She looks like them too. The vet told us she is a pureblood. But can't get any papers; because she is a pound dog. I do not care if she has papers. All I know she Loves us. She is the first friend I made in Burlington,NC. I would like to know where I could go to take her to classes in ulity dog training. I have a feeling she will be a perfect thearpy dog for a childerns'home or a nursing home. So when she is older I would like to volenteer there. BUt I new to Burlington,NC. I do not know anyone here. So if anyone wants to help write me at my E-mail address. I still cannot understand why anyone would put a puppy like her in a dog pound that puts dogs down in ten days. It is shame. In fact if we did not pick her out she would of been put to sleep the next day. Thats so sad to put a wonderful dog down that just started her life. They are brother and sister. Roscoe is tan, brown and white and Lucy is white, black and grey. These are beautiful dogs. Roscoe is neutered and Lucy spayed. I need to find a good home for them. It seems they are not welcome in my neighborhood, and truthfully, they deserve more than a neighborhood. I would like to keep them together. They are free to a GOOD HOME. | Comments: | I have been very fortunate to share the last 8 years of my life w/ a spayed, tailed, tricolored Aussie named Stella. She is the calmest, gentlest, sweetest dog that I've ever known. She is a guardian angel to my cats, and the beta dog in the pack. She has helped my other dog, a stray that I've named Cordelia, become a calm and happy house dog, as opposed to a nervous, insecure street dog. When Cordy first came to me, she had a pinch-collar that was several sizes too small on. When it was removed, she had tiny wounds around her neck. Stella would lick the wounds, and talk to Cordy all the time. Now, they are seldom out of the other's sight. Stella also cares for my cat who suffers from thin skin. She's the only cure that I've found that Timmy will stand. She's the best watchdog, companion dog, any dog that I've found. When she leaves me, and I know she will, I'll get another Aussie. She's the best!!! |

This is my first one. But I'm no stranger to the show ring confirmation or obedience. He is already nuterd and microchip. Have the paper work for a ILP # almost ready to go, any tips that you have is very welcomed. I have a 16 year old daughter that has been in 4-h all her life and can't waite to get Toby home today it is more special for her because in two days she turns 17...

It was this Thursday after I came home from work I knew things were not right. In fact, we may only have a day or two left with her. She has cancer. It spred so rapidly and with such vengence that not even Heather knew what hit her. My heart is so heavy that all I do is cry. She is by my side right now. As loving and faithful as she was the day I reached down for her among nine other of her litter-mates. Please pray for our Heather-girl and for us that our heavy hearts will slowly stop bleeding. It is so terribly sad. She is my partner! I feel so bad that there is nothing more we can do but give her comfort in her last hours. If anyone knows anything about cancer and Aussies, please enlighten me. I guess I just want to know why, but I also know that question will never be answered. It is so sad to hear our three daughters cry themselves to sleep. But Heather knows she is loved by us all. Heather will be met in the heavens, warmly by our Black-Tri, "Kacee".

My sister was looking for a second dog just after I bought my home. I had been thinking of getting one, but was just in the thinking stage. When we went to look at this beautiful princess, a red-tri Aussie, I fell in love. My sister had to do without, as I was hooked. I had to ensure she got aong with my 20 yr old cat, but the cat quickly laid down the rules. He has since died. My aussie was found roaming the streets, eating out of garbage. Looking at her and thinking of that breaks my heart,as she is not very street wise! However, she was saved, and held at SPCA. The gal who saved her, fostered her for 2 months, and allowed her daughter to rename her. They called her Korea.....once I took her, I did not want to give her a third name, so I just shortened it to Krea. She is a joy: such personality and beauty and amazing spirit. I have married since, and she is totally in love with my husband, and he with her ! Eventually, we will get more dogs, and I would again choose aussies, since my experience with my Krea. Judy |

we just had our pet, Malcolm, put to sleep. He was 16 years old, but was starting to slow down quite a bit. He may have been able to hang in there for quite a bit longer but it hurt to see him so uncomfortable. It took us four tries before we could actually take him to the vet. It sure is quiet around here. It's amazing how totally your pet can fill up the whole house. He really was a great dog! Maybe one day we will get another Australian shepherd. I think I'd like to find one that looked like Malcolm. To me, he seemed like "one of a kind". Actually, he was probably an Australian cattle dog. He had a short tail, his coloring was grey with black splotches, (smooth hair), and beautiful white hair on the back of his neck and down the front. He had one brown eye and the other was half brown and half blue. He was pretty large; about 70 pounds. Well anyway, it felt good to talk about him. My husband and I have 2 Aussies, the male was given to us about 3 1/2 years ago.....WHAT A GREAT DOG, a friend of ours had him, she had a couple of dogs at home and her son would forget to close the gate...she was afraid that the aussie would get out...she lives on a very busy street...she knew we were looking for an aussie...we are so glad she thought of us. Our second dog, a female was also given to us...her owners were killed in a plane crash...she used to travel with them...that day she stayed home. She is a puppy...loves to get on furniture and take papers out of the garage...but...what a little lover !

I have 7 year old twins and she took them in as her children. In march she was patroling our yard as usual when a drunk had run of the road and hit and killed her. | Comments: | Hi, my husband and I found a 6 month red merle Aussie recently while in a remote area of West Texas. We stayed in the area for a while but were unable to locate her owners, so we adopted her. She is our 3rd Aussie and a beautiful and smart pup. However, we are having a major problem with her trying to run away. We have had her now for 2 months and she seems quite happy and contented and gets along real well with our 14 year old Golden and 8 year old male Aussie. Whenever anyone comes in or out our front door, she darts for it and tries to run outside. We live in a condo, so she is an inside dog but gets lots of walks. Yesterday, when I was walking her outside I accidently dropped her leash and she took off and luckily someone grabbed her just as she started to run into a major street with gobs of traffic. Tomorrow she will be spade, and we hope that helps. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we adore this dog and desperately want to keep her with us. |

I knew aussies were wonderfull dogs already because i owned one for 20 yrs before he passed away in his sleep 3 yrs ago. so i couldn't believe my luck when i stopped to grab them off the side of a back road. ironically the world really is a small place and we met the man to whom the puppies had belonged and he explained to us that the mother carries the puppies away and hides them, he also informed us that sadly 2 of the puppies had been hit by a car. we offered to give up my dog, but he said it was okay because he could have more litters and he's glad they got good homes, i think he only said no because i started to tear up when i offered to give her back...so i am gratefull every day for the chance to own another dog who is smart, protective, obediant and extemely loving who also sometimes remonds me of my childhood companian i had grown up with since i was 2, and am thankfull my daughter will have the same opportunity to have such a great companian and friend to grow up with and cherish for years to come. |

| Comments: | I had to put down my best freind of many years.That happened about 6 months ago.Icouldnt handle coming home and my freind not being there so i went lookin for a new one.I decided on a blue heeler for many reasons.There are to many positives to list.But i didnt goto a breeder or a freind.I found that there are hundreds of blue heelers being put to sleep daily in the pounds.If your lookin for a family pet or a darn good watch please try the animal rescues.There are so many dogs that people have discarded after six months or a year and these dogs are so inteligent that any behavior problems that theyve had in the past arent that hard to change.My dog "Baby" is a 11 month old blue heeler
that was born in the wild and raisedthere to.Only been around people for about three or four months.She had never been in the house before and shes hasnt had an "accident" yet.One day i got stuck working late and i thought for sure there would be a big mess when i got home.Nope.Please consider rescues when lookin for a heeler.if anyone would like to see baby email me and ill send ya pics |

I just stumbled onto the Dreambook. It was fun to read the posts. Some fun and some scary. Eaglerun Liberty Undaunted (Libby) is proving to be just that, undaunted. She finished tops in both of her obedience classes and is amazing in agility. Loves all the obstacles and understands contacts and weavepoles extremely well. Can't wait to let her jump! She finished heads above every other dog in her agility class, working off-lead from the beginning. After 10 weeks, all the other dogs are still on lead and are adult dogs. I will snail mail new pictures as soon as the digital camera returns from repair. Hope this finds you doing well. I understand one of Judy's latest pups is training at K-9 (private lessons) but I haven't had the pleasure of seeing it. Take care. |

| Comments: | Hi I saw this site after looking into info on Ausie sheppards. As I read into the comment's other peaple had entered I was amazed that everone say's the same thing about this breed. My Sheppard Buddy is the most incredible dog I have ever had the privelidge of owning. And it's hard to say owning as he's more my four legged son than a pet. he's everything you could ever want in a dog. I truely believe that this is by far one of the world's greatest dog breads. I hope that every dog owner has the chance to be around this incredible bread. |
