I have many records in my private collection, 78 rpm, Longplays and Singles, with Beat, Rock-n-Roll, Jazz Swing and of course Blues. In Germany, it is a little bit difficult to get nice blues-records, because in the old times in Europe, Jazz and Swing were the domiated music-styles. I have some copies of Bessie Smith, Josh White, Blind Lemon Jefferson. Congratulations for your blues-78rpm-Collection. Blues forever.

| Comments: | The East River String Band is the best of what I've ever discovered on YouTube. Takes me back to the old folkie days (shows my age). I live in Calgary, in the West of the Great White North, where Joni Mitchell got her start in a club called the Depression covering Joan Baez with a baritone uke.
I've got all your albums including Sweet East River and will get the latest when it comes out next week. Back in the folkie days one of us had The Anthology of American Folk Music and I've been thinking that Harry Smith must be the godfather of John and R. Crumb. | Comments: | Thanks guys! We will have some shows booked in February in Manhattan and Brooklyn..as well as a New CD coming out in about a month which features Crumb on many tracks playing mandolin.
We also have two big shows coming up in March where Robert will be sitting in with us..One is at Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn NY on MArch 24th..It's $15 and tickets will be on sale soon..and the other is at the Society of Illustration in Manhattan on March 26th..tickets are on sale now at their website under the Special Events link..They are $20. Other musicians will be playing at these shows too..Pat Conte from the otis brothers and Dom Flemons from the Carolina Chocolate Drops and more..Should be two nights of great old music! |
