| Comments: | Where to start about "Ed", which was my favorite, never-miss television show during its all-too-brief run? Yes, it was Ed's goofy courting and those kind blue eyes that initially drew me in, but the show was so oddball and addictive that I **had** to have control of the TV every Wednesday at 8:00 (until that late in the game change of moving it to Fridays ... what was up with THAT?!) And what the hell were they smoking when they came up with the circus wedding theme? Carol (the character) would NEVER have gone along with such a thing so easily. It just seemed so out of character to me to see her acquiescing to Ed's zany idea. Anyway ... it's all water under the bridge now, but Ed, when it comes out on DVD, is going to be enough to finally force me to buy a DVD player. I'm starting to build my Tom Cavanaugh cyber-photo collection today -- I miss him! (And his great relationship with Mike, and the truly funny Phil and Shirley ...) I am going through TV withdrawal, having recently given my TV to a needy roommate, but I do get the chance to watch some TV and it's making me glum that Friends is also going away. Another bunch of quirky (but insanely well dressed for their incomes) set of people ... I refuse to succumb to the "reality" shows (which are all staged, puh-lease). Maybe it's time to give PBS a second look! |
