Once again a fabulous night at The Stables Milton Keynes, you are just amazing and I am soooooooooooo looking forward to taking my other half to Sheffield in June to see you again, who knows, maybe even get to see you at Silver Phil's venue in Oxford too.

Susy & Kev (Milton Keynes, UK) Monday, March 9th 2009 - 02:32:57 PM
Saw you at the Stables in MK on Saturday night (Virgins to the live show), You are superb, we are now looking for another venue and we are telling all our friends about you, thank you so much for the chat and signing the Vancouver 97 Album afterwards.

Kev is a Led Zeppelin fan, but your version of Going to California is "hands down" better than Zeppelin, wish you could have done that track too.

Best wishes to you all, look forward to the next gig.

Trish and Chris (Stoke-on-Trent) Sunday, March 8th 2009 - 11:21:44 PM
Saw the gig at the Stables last night - travelled 230 miles from Stoke to see you and it was worth every mile. It was about the thirteenth time we had seen the band (lucky for some). The accoustics at the Stables are wonderful and it is a very civilised venue. We loved the Mild side and the Wild side idea - splitting the concert into two sessions was inspired - why have a support act when you can do it yourselves. The Boys are brilliant and Never the Bride is a real band with Murray, Dave and Richard playing with Nikki and the Bean. Everyone seemed to be on top form and it showed. Really enjoyed the new material.
By the way, have you got a new album out?

megan (australia) Friday, March 6th 2009 - 01:04:04 PM

Any chance of Glastonbury next year?

Simon jones Friday, December 19th 2008 - 05:04:34 PM
It says on The Stables MK website you are playing in march. is this correct?

Keith Lamley Monday, December 8th 2008 - 10:28:14 AM
Thanks for the gig at The Pokey Hole! Despite your frustration at the sound problems it was a great night. In fact I'd never heard Been's playing so clearly - a great jazz/blues feel at times. Some wonderful versions of old favourites. Loved the impromtu version of I Can See Clearly Now, but not sure what the Rod Stewart numbers were all about.....Only grumble was no Loser! Sniff. Hope the drum kit is ok!! See you next year I hope.

Yvo (UK) Sunday, November 30th 2008 - 09:37:19 PM
Well now, I dont know about you never being the bride but you certainly engaged Ali, Fay and I at the Pokey Hole on Friday evening. A virgin up until then, now I feel like the cat that got the cream. An amazing gig by an amazing band. Awesome to say the very least.

They say you never forget your first time. Too true guys.

Happy to say that you overcame the little snag with the sound system to deliver a highly polished and marvelous set of the very highest calibre.

It really was a pleasure and a night I will remember for a very long time indeed. Thanks one and all for the memory.

See you again soon.

Yvo, Ali and Fay

Nick Hodson (England) Tuesday, November 25th 2008 - 11:00:58 AM
"Help" Nikki cried as the start of the gig in Barnes last night started to become a scene from Spinal Tap. Then singing the first few words of a famous Beetle track, Been was there in the zone and a magical impromtu Never The Bride version of Help was born. The boys at first bemused quickly joined and it kicked started another wonderful and fun evening of amazing talent and songs at Barnes. huge thanks to you all Awesome!!

Paul Humphries (England) Saturday, November 22nd 2008 - 11:46:09 AM
Hi Nikki, Been, & the guys. The countdown is on, only 6 days to go before NTB and The Pokey Hole are one again!
I can't wait, and this will be my 4th time seeing you guys. Just like a footie fan looks at the fixture list to see when they play Man Utd, I look at the Pokey programme for you guys, couldn't believe it this time November, but the wait is worth it, I know!
OK grovel time now.... If it's not on the play list on Friday night, could you sneak in "When it's all too late" as that song has it all for me.
I'll sign off now hoping Pete the Shirt read’s this. "A year at The Pokey Hole without Never the Bride would be like a day without sunshine!"

Only 153 hours to go! :-)

Paul

Nikki... Wow! what a voice; such power but also what wondrous and awesome beauty. I first heard Nikki singing Mike Oldfields Earth Moving back in the 80's and from that time I just can't hear enough of this phenominal woman.

Nikki never retire; don't deprive me the joy of listening to your passion, power and beauty.

Love Steve

Babes. I just discovered the 'Kashmir' video on YouTube (8:49 version) ... absolutely AWESOME ... especially when played REALLY loud. It's a shame you can't bring the British Rock Symphony Orchestra to every gig (well, maybe every other gig). Love ya.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the Rock n Roots Festival in Herefordshire has been CANCELLED due to "unforseen circumstances". Not much more detail than that on their website just now.

Pam Schwartz (California, USA) Friday, July 18th 2008 - 06:47:20 AM
I've been listening to NTB since 1995. Drives me crazy that Americans would rather listen to the likes of Britney Spears than a true talented female musician. Sure wish you would make it out to California some day. I'm in Southern CA but I would travel anywhere in the state to have a chance to see you.

FlatbushTruthSerum (Brookly, NY USA) Friday, July 18th 2008 - 12:20:38 AM
I have loved Never The Bride since I first heard their version of Going to California from the Encomium Zeppelin tribute album. I even travelled to UK to catch two gigs on one hectic weekend in 2004. But when am I going to get to see them in my own beloved New York City.

I find it hard to believe that a band this talented, with such an amazing sound couldn't make it over here on this side of the pond, with a modicum of effort.

Anyone else in the States nto these gals? I want them here bad, but I guess I'm going to hae to wait until I can afford to fly them over myself to perform at my 50th birthday party in three more years!

Helmut Steiner (Wels, Austria) Wednesday, July 16th 2008 - 03:52:22 PM
Hi, heard you first on Encomium with Going to California and thought what a great voice, had a look at your homepage and was hit by your songs, ordered all of your CDs and DVDs. So is only one thing left: Really want to see a gig and hope you're coming to Austria soon. Really great music, greetz from Austria, Helmut

FRED BROWNING (KIDDERMINSTER) Monday, July 7th 2008 - 07:59:15 AM
early this year i rang up for americana tickets and complained that NTB were not on the billl for this festival,i was told "dont worry,we know about them and they will be on next years bill!",has this been confirmed yet for 2009?.

Hey there,

I was on Dame Shirley Bassey's Website a few weeks ago and I saw the link to your myspace page. I then downloaded the Surprise tracks from the download shop and I just got the S/T CD in the mail today and am waiting for my shipment of the other CDs I ordered from your site. I am astonished at how amazing you guys are. I rarely ever have an instant complete liking to any one artist. I listen to your music on a daily basis and you have jumped the ranks to be one of my favorite bands. I am soooo glad I was able to come across your site.

Thanks for the music,
Kevin

Dearest Bean and Nicki,
Thank you for the wonderful gig at the Bull's Head last night. It is a great venue and the sound quality excellent. (I am continually bemused by 'sound engineers' who have absolutely no concept of balance or volume).
What a pair you are...fabulous talent.
Special thanks for inviting Tallulah to join you. We all thought it was one of her best gigs.
love

Nikki,Been and band,

went to see you live at The Pacific Road Arts Centre, Birkenhead. My wife and I had been recommended to go and see you live,by a friend. we were not too sure what to expect, led to believe you were a sort of Rock/folk band in the same vein as The Dixie Chicks! What we got was something else, what an experience, Nikki that voice of yours was exciting and totally free. The sound you created was unexpected and for someone who is touching very late fifties and never expected to hear live heavy Rock and enjoy you have a convert.

we hope it wont be too long before you return to the Wirral

best wishes
a xx

Laila M.Haugen (Lillehammer,Norway) Thursday, November 22nd 2007 - 08:45:28 PM
Hi there!
On NTB's gig in Biristrand/LIllehammer, October 6th,you had a gitarist who Nikki called "Heatcliffe".What's his real name? We talked for some hours after the consert, and he told me he had his own blues/jazz/fusion band, but I've forgotten the name of that band. Can anyone tell me,please?? He was a very good gitarplayer, and also a nice person.Any CD's with that band?
For all of you who would like to go to Norway next year, check out the website lillehammermusic.no (or try Lillehammer bluesweekend.com)There you find info about the bluesweekend in March, lots of good artists coming! I'm afraid the info is in Norwegian, but I think you'll understand most of it,the links, program etc. There's also a lot of pictures from the other festivals, including some of NTB.(Click on "bilder".)

fred browning (kidderminster uk) Sunday, November 11th 2007 - 10:02:41 PM
hope we can get some fans to hamar and lillehammer next year!,i want to see hamar where graeme obree(the flying scotsman!)broke the world cycling hour record and then enjoy NTB.
any takers?.

Agnès (France) Saturday, November 10th 2007 - 01:13:10 AM
Hey, this is a message for Nikki; it was such a pleasure to meet you tonight in Paris after the great show you offered us. You're such a talented singer with an unique voice! wow, very impressing !I'buy your record right away and would love to get in touch with you, see if we could fgure something for the rock magazine I work for. I am honored to have met you. Keep on rocking with that raw energy!

Julie and Bob (Hampshire) Friday, November 9th 2007 - 07:58:07 PM
Went to the gig at The Maltings, Farnham to see what Roger Daltrey was talking about. You were awesome. Keep playing your CD, can't wait to see you live again and have just booked tickets for the Academy, Basingstoke. Looking forward to it so much.

Laila M. Haugen (Lillehammer,Norway) Friday, November 9th 2007 - 06:45:52 PM
Hi again!
Nice to see that some of you are planning to come to Norway next year, and the "Hamar music festival".I really look foreward to the NTB concert! For those of you who love good old "classic rock",I would also recommend "Lillehammer rock weekend" in May. We've had a lot of great artists performing there, like 10 CC,Uriah Heep,Sweet,Slade,Ian Hunter,Manfred Mann,Nazareth, and of course NTB!! And in March we have a bluesfestival...with Ike Turner as next years "star".
(I guess you never heard of Hamar and Lillehammer before, well it's two small towns, about 120 and 190km north from Oslo.) Welcome!

Netty & Homer (Australia) Wednesday, November 7th 2007 - 01:16:31 PM

mark!,(ref the m-club)!,nikki bought the bottle of tequila!,i was just the waiter again!.thanks nikki!.
the idea of an weekend away at an overseas gig next year does appeal to me!,they recently did a few gigs abroad and i would have loved to have gone to see them if i had got company for the trip,so next year a definite for me!.
anyone else up for trip?.

Mark (Robby) - Plymouth Saturday, November 3rd 2007 - 08:17:44 PM
Been, Nikki and the bouys
Concur with Fred (17 Oct) reference The M Club at Crewe, didn't mind waiting, 'cos there was a pub up the road! However the gig was very intimate when we moved the table and chairs forward!!! The new guitar guy adapted very well (Nikki - Need to keep telling us his name!), you have found a good-un there..
Fred, you were not the person who was getting them Tiquilla's?? Cheers for that mate, I owe you... For the hangover, or was it the few beers after the gig!!!
Anyone fancy doing a foreign NTB gig in August next year?? That 'Hamar' sounds good, according to the previous 'Guestbook messages', what do you reckon??
See you at 'The Reckless' December the 1st.

Jenni (Kent) Friday, November 2nd 2007 - 04:24:20 PM

i was just watching itv programme this morning (not working at moment so just lolling around!)when at the end of show a singer called david jordan came on,i did not take much notice at first but then i caught sight of the long haired guitarist in background,it was none other than our own murray gould!,so thats where he's gone!.
best of luck murray!.

Paul (Lancashire) Thursday, October 25th 2007 - 02:55:35 PM
Been an NTB fan for about 9 years...I fondly(?!?)remember the hard rocking, hard shoutin, hard drinkin gigs at some shoddy pub on the edge of Chiswick/Hammersmith. Went there with Simon and the gang. Still playing the CD today. Missed the Dame Shirley stuff as have been out of the country for a while, but back now and glad to see you guys are still doin it. Remember playing the gig on the roof of the pub in Wokingham? What a blast that night was! Keep rockin, keep drinkin!!

fred browning (kidderminster-worcestershire) Wednesday, October 17th 2007 - 11:39:06 AM
saw NTB last friday at M CLUB in crewe,it wasn't the biggest crowd they have ever performed in front of but were very appreciative & enthusiastic!.
the gig was late in starting as the band were not satisfied with sound levels and the true pro's that they are did not want to give a less than the 100% we expect!.

with murray gould not in the line up folk were wondering how the new lead guitarist would fit in?,(i forgot the guy's name but i did met him after the gig!)but he was performing only his 2nd gig for the band and fitted in quite well!,i mean, murray gould is a big act to follow and he did well!.
GUYS!,YOU ROCK!!!

i just had e-mail from the chief regarding this saturday's gig at newark in nottinghamshire, any NTB fans wanting to go to see just NTB on saturday can obtain admission for just £15 which includes camping!(instead of full price of £25) by wearing NTB tee-shirt or producing NTB cd to prove allegiance to the band!.

NTB will take to the stage at 9.45.
no admision after 8.0 as the gates will be locked at this point!.
the gig is indoor gig in a giant hangar and has canteen facilities, camping is just 100 yards away.

so i will see you at newark on saturday nikki, been and the gang!.

My Fiance and I the band at Mr Kips ( Poole ) for the first time. We both thought they were fantastic. As a rocker from the 70's it was great to see a tremendous rock band fronted by a magnificent vocalist. I had tears during ' The Living Tree ' ( don't tell the other half ) having seen Shirley doing it at Glastenbury. Nicki's vocals were unbelievable. The covers they did were superb and introducing the band to ' Whole lotta love ' blew me away. I am a huge Rory Gallagher fan so I am interested in when the bassist and drummer played with him. It must have been just before he passed away. Please pass on my comments to the band and say put up your prices but not to me. Mike and Gill

I became an NTB fan after following up the Shirley Bassey performance of "The Living Tree" at the Royal Command Performance 2005. I purchased an NTB DVD and my wife and I were blown away. We are both 60 and over the years have enjoyed some historical musical performances. On 1st September, yesterday, I was in the audience, at Mr Kyps, Poole, "Big Boy", and was not disappointed. I noticed that some of your line up has changed, but quality has been maintained. You were all brilliant, thankyou so much.
Love you, Peter Adams.

fred browning (kidderminster-worcesterhire) Sunday, August 26th 2007 - 10:03:49 PM
well as it was a very decent weekend weatherwise i managed to get to the NTB gigs at the boom boom club (sutton fc)om friday evening and the severnside music festival (nr bristol)on saturday.
the outdoor gig on saturday was just great!,i was sat in the pub's beer garden when nikki arrived, she recognised me from the previous night's gig and came over to ask if i was enjoying the other band's and invited me for a drink!,i was introduced to the other member's of the band and afterwards helped the been to get her piano and hammond organ set up on the stand and ready to go onstage!.when the band took to the stage for the sound check i strolled out with them carrying been's acoustic guitar and placed guitar and stand near her corner of the stage!,the nearest to the rock'n'roll lifestyle i will ever get!.
another fine set followed with usual mix of NTB originals and classic rock cover's,nikki was thoroughly enjoying herself on her own patch and had the eager crowd eating out of her hands!,all too often when you watch a good gig the time flies by so fast and that's just what it did again!.
many thank's nikki, been and the gang for some terific music!,if the weather is ok next weekend i could be making my way to poole next saturday!.

Ben (Cowboy) (Uk) Sunday, August 26th 2007 - 06:31:16 PM
I was part of the stage crew at the severnside music festival and your set just blew me away i can't wait to see you play again when you are next in the bristol area.

i was hoping i would be watching/listening to NTB at the bulldog bash this weekend but contenting myself by listening to the 2 cd's i bought at 100 club last saturday!(surprise and live at ulu)i think nikki lambourn got a terrific voice and would love to hear her singing the northern soul classic by bettye lavette "let me down easy",what do you reckon?.

fred browning (kidderminster worcestershire) Friday, August 10th 2007 - 04:04:21 PM
wow!,i saw my second ever NTB gig last saturday at 100 club in oxford st london and i thought my first gig at the reckless engineer in bristol in april was good!,this was a bloody great blaST!.
although nikki was complaining about the second levels to the engineer, we in the crowd heard a perfect 2 hour set!.
what a fantastic finale to a great night were the WHO antics at the end of pinball wizard.
nice of the band to hang out with fans at the end and sign the cd's we had bought!,nice one NTB!.i missed my tube back to my hotel but would do it all again this saturday for another show like that one!,thank's guy's.
the trip upto the smoke from kidderminster was well worth it!,see you all in bristol(or maybe severnside?)at the end of the month!.

Please come back again and I hope that the word has spread over Cumbria that we need to get you doing more gigs in this area.

Thankyou Nikki for signing my 'Surprise' CD and the snog across the table was the icing on the cake!

Ihad never heard of the band until yesterday at Maryport. abssolutely fantastic. Now have 1 cd and hope fully this will increase over next couple of months. My wife enjoyed it too so you must have been good

JOHN HASTINGS (England) Monday, July 30th 2007 - 11:43:53 AM
Hi, Nikki

Thank you for a fantastic gig at Maryport. Roger was right - you DO have a voice like Janis Joplin; in fact, I'd buy double glazing from you, never mind a Mercedes Benz. You certaqinly left an impression on me and my fellow men in the Marquee, believe me...

I was the one wearing glasses and a Cardiff Blues rugby shirt.

The rest of the group was superb and Catherine has a great voice herself (like Bonnie Raitt on edge) - I'm sure it'll develop in time.

Nikki, you were talking about possible Cumbrian venues. There is a brilliant pub in Cockermouth called "The Fletcher Christian Tavern" that has Blues acts twice weekly. For more details go to www.fletcherchristiantavern.co.uk.

Thanks again for a great gig - and all the best for the future.

Many Bassey fans are annoyed that Get the Party Started was destined to be a huge hit but has not been done justice - there has been absolutely no promo for it at all. What a wasted opportunity.

Love all your stuff, But never seen NTB live, But did see Niki do her stuff with Rodger Daltry & Alice Cooper at the Albert Hall, since then I have kept an eye on NTB Hope to see you guys soon, any chance of a Scottish date?

Hi greatest !!!!
Read message from Mark, Jayne and Jack (Staffs) Thank goodness you were the only 3 who were very disappointed with The Commitments. 650 others were not including Nikki, Bean and the guys. Like you three, I consider NTB the greatest as I said on stage. It does occasional need a big named bands to introduce newer names. Please contact me and I will return your cheque!!!!

Jonathan Barrett (UK) Thursday, July 19th 2007 - 08:36:24 PM
You have done Dame Shirley proud, The Living Tree is awesome (love your version too!) and the album is faultless. I think Big Spender could be a hit all over again! Dame Shirley is sounding better than ever with you looking after her - thank you. She must be thrilled.
MORE PLEASE - how about an album of Elvis covers (isn't Dame Shirely a big fan) - this would be incredible?
But I would happily settle for another one like Get the party started - I'd love to hear remixed:
- If you don't understand
- Sometimes (theme from Champions)
- I was born to sing (forever)
- Live and let die
- Nobody does it better
- I want to know what love is
- That's right (love is no game)
- 'Disco' la passione
and some more newies . . .hasn't Dame Shirley mentioned Amy Winehouse's Back to black? Can't wait.
Congratulations again on your joint success, and I hope there's loads more to come.
I will definately be coming to see you next time you're in Bristol.
xxxxx
