Leela Saturday, February 12th 2011 - 07:17:18 AM serpentlunar@hotmail.com I've been a fanfic connoisseur since I was 12 (I'm 23 now!) and Brad/Schu has my OTP for years and years... I've read some very, very good stuff. But I think after "Velocity over Time", I have to say, you write the best dialogue (I can totally hear it in my head, it's perfectly natural while still being intense) and most effective Schu characterization I've seen. The fic was just well-balanced and left me wanting more so acutely that I literally made an "ugh" noise when it was over out of longing. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, you=genius.

Shuusuke in the water, Yuuta's befuddlement over so many things, and clarity about others, the little slice of joy that is St. Randolph, it all flows and goes and I loved it.

Lauren Tuesday, April 13th 2010 - 11:41:35 PM Bell.lauren.j@gmail http://www.fanfiction.net/~inkwave That was tragic. A little confusing with the time jumps, especially when the character's weren't explained until the end of the vinet but it was all very fitting. It seemed so real. What would Akira do without Hikaru if he continued to life? You can almost imagining them so close that they wouldn't want to live without the other, in a way a greater connection than between Hikaru and Sai. All in all though the homevideo was the most touching, expecially when you had it as the introduction and the ending. I can just imagine Touya at 2 o' clock in the morning watching home video with an abandoned glass of whiskey. Watching everything again for the hundreth time, at once bringing up fond memories as he stabs himself in the heart again and again remembering what he lost. His Go now a shadow of what it once was, lacking the passion to push upwards while he still continues to rest at the top. Culminating in his tearing apart his semi ordered apartment until he stumbles across something of Shindou, something he can't destroy or even throw on the floor for the life of him. Trying to express the rage, the sorrow, until the stillness breaks down as he sobs his heart out again for the hundredth time. His shoulder shake with his sobs but he eventually get up and puts everything away again, all the breakable items having been long since replaced. Akira knew that he couldn't escape the cycle, didn't even want, since that would be an abandonment of his precious memories, of his Hikaru. My god your story has me inspired. I think I will actually write a little ramble of this on fanfiction.net. I'm InkWave, check it out. The title is Hole.

kitkat Monday, December 31st 2007 - 03:12:01 AM vegoksaiyan@yahoo.com.br Hello! I'm just now diving into the world of GetBackers, so I've found your site and couldn't be more happy cause I have the raws of the manga (a few missing pages but still...) and was dying to actually know what was happening. Great job you're doing with the text translations (I actually like text trans rather than scanlations... yeah, call me weird) so I stopped by to thank you for doing it and also to ask if your translation is still in progress. I hope the answer is yes. Oh, and don't worry cause I'll never do a scanlation with your text (not enough patience for that), I just wanna read/understand the manga without having to rely on sumaries we find here and there. Once again thanks for your hard job. And Happy New Year! See you around, Kitkat

Kiwi Bird Saturday, April 14th 2007 - 02:20:33 PM quantum.kiwi@gmail.com Huh. Wow. Hikaru comes back to haunt Akira. :) That's kind of ... sad, but also appropriate somehow. I can't imagine either one of them being able to rest easy without the other. I think Hikaru spent a couple of intensive months playing Sai before he met back up with Akira, but maybe that's just me. The styles and media you chose to tell this story (interviews, e-mails, amateur videos, etc.) were a bit bewildering at first, especially when told in second person, but they were also really impressive and original. I enjoyed the geekery of some of the tech-speak. This was a really interesting concept, and refreshingly subtle in many ways, hinting without spelling it out so that much of the story is open to interpretation. I was surprised how much I liked Akari in this. I was also struck by how evocative the parts with Akira's mom and Ashiwara were. The person with the video camera in the beginning had to have been Hikaru, and I'm pretty sure Waya was chatting in one section, but I feel much less sure of that. Hikaru's absence in later sections was subtle at first, so when it gradually became clear that he'd died, it was that much sadder. I was really missing his presence by the time the last section came around, so I was glad to see him once more, even if it was only to witness the last time he ever communicated with Akira before he died. Anyway, this was very interesting (if bittersweet), so thanks for sharing.

Aki Thursday, February 10th 2005 - 04:29:44 PM oh sab. you sweet sweet thing. i love how of all my friends, you are one of the few who will write me fluff, yet make it so intellectual that it's not only palatable but horridly addictive. love akira thinking of "his" rival possessively (we do get something of a feel for that in the series, where everyone ELSE from waya to the honinbo keeps rubbing it in XD) love how hikaru can DO that--reaching over boundaries, breaking rules in everything from metaphysics to table manners. and i love how akira thinks he has it figured out but his practical nature fights it, yet on the whole, it hardly matters because what they have now takes precedence. <333333333
