| Give us your ideas and thoughts!: | my first lya convention was the 2004 trip to florida. i loved it. it was the funnest thing i have done in a long time. i live in Provo Utah and here in utah there arent many lutherans. so being together with all those lutheran kids made me realize there are more than just me. and my church is small and we dont have many kids. so at the convention i think there was only 4 of us from utah. but i met some friends that i dont think i will ever forget. i met tonz of people that i wish i was closer to. at my school(farrer middle school) somedays someone will start talking about religion and everyone at my school is LDS. or so it seems that way. and they will ask me what i believe and i will try to explain it to them and they think that it is complete bogus. and then they will say something about the lds religion and i will prove them wrong with a passage or somthing and they think that is like the weirdest thing, because i know all that. well i am looking forward to having the LYA convention in Salt lake city, UT in 2006. it will be at my home church!! hope lutheran!!!look forward to seeing u all there |

More retreats would be cool even if its just for the state like a florida retreat or a Wisconsin retreat. Trips to foreign countries would be awesome! That's all 4 now... |

if you've never gone to a youth convention, you should. don't even think about not going. you'll have a lot of fun. i know that's what everyone says, and it's true. even if you don't know anybody, you'll meet someone you can hang out with. if no one else, come search me out! i met two great people i spent the whole time with. i didn't think i was going to have much fun at the last convention which happened to also be my first. it was a new experience for me. i didn't know how everything worked. i thought i would mess everything up and make everyone mad at me, but it turned out to be great. as i said, i met a few absolutely GREAT people. i fit right in with everyone. everyone fit in with each other because God made them all different. it was easy to catch on to what was going on during the convention. and i know i've said this before, but i'll say it again: there are a lot of great people there, and no one goes home complaining. if you do go home complaining, you made an effort to have a bad time because it's not that easy. if you haven't gotten it already, here's my message: GO TO THE YOUTH CONVENTION! |

The 2003 L.Y.A. Convention was my fist convention, I think it was an awesome time. I mostly loved the bible studies! I think its a great spirtual journey! I cannot wait till next year in Florida! convention. I had so much fun. I am from Oregon and the Lutheran Churchs Are not very big so meeting other Lutheran's my age was just great. I have never had so much funin my life. I think this is the best place to meet new people and friends. I loved it so much. The only thing that could have been beter was at Crater Lake there wasn't enough time to do any hiking. and to me that is the best part about the lake is hiking down the rim to the water were you can see rocks hundreds of feet deep, thats just incredible to me. And I think more people would have liked it if they did a little hiking. |

Convention, which was fun, as always. Tell your friends at church about it so we can have even more next summer in Oregon. Sometimes it's hard to stay with your Christian faith when going through your teenage years. Hang in there. Don't forget what Jesus says about His Word as the "one thing needful." Get yourself to church and be sure to take the Sacrament - these are the ways God has given to keep this wonderful faith in Christ alive. Have a good school year.
