1st: I'm 45, an internet Dork, have a "personal" relationship with Jesus Christ, so I respect anyone on the road to thier's as long as they are on it, and my 10 year old daughter Gracie is the reason I've stumbled upon your site. I don't know how long I can make this little into. before it says ehh...end of paper or until you guys say ehh... lady you must be bipolar or whatever but we're bored and must have homework more interesting than this. Until that time, I'll let you know what I'd like to share tonight. O.k? :) I am a single mother of three gorgeous children. All had different daddy DNA so I take the credit for thier great looks. Do the math, my gene is the constant and believe me so is thier beauty. God also made them beautiful inside. #1= Ashley Brooke Young, 23yrs. old, worked @ the same bank for over 3 yrs., adorable hard working sweet homeowner,2cars,2cats,1huge dog,1lizard,born again&baptized,describes her and her boyfriend.Nickname:hashbrown or ashley mae goo goo burger. She was named Ashley for Ash on Y&R, middle name for the Brooke family that was the shows orginal characters and her dad made her:Young forever. She would have two decent names to decide to go by and her initials almost spelled one more "aby=abby". All my bases covered out of the gate. #2= Cody James Parker, he has a myspace to clue you in on his 19 yr. old waz up's. His father definately gets points for his looks seeing as how they look like a mirror image, it was love at 1st sight when I saw his father when I was 15 & he was 16. I still love him with all my heart and he gave me the best of he and I with our son, so I have him always and everyone who meets Cody falls in love with him, check him out but he took his father's last name: Edgecombe,e-mail=codyparker1@yahoo.com. He's born again in Christ & I look forward to his Baptism in God's Time. #3= Clona Grace Nolan,@10 she is the reason I know I'm the perfect parent finally after 23 yrs. of practice. Unfortunately, Gracie's daddy Paul Frederick Nolan, my 12 year life partner, died from lung cancer that had gone into bone cancer. When I asked him why God was taking him and leaving her to be raised by her "crazy" bipolar mother instead of him? He said, barley able to whisper at that point..."Peaches(his nickname for me}, I've been a mutherf-----." and I told him yes, Pauli you have but our God dosen't work like that and Jesus's blood has redeemed you. You've been forgiven and you know that so why would he not leave the more sane of the two of us and He said ,"Peaches, he's taking the mean one and I'll wait for you @ the first ashtray in Heaven." He knew if we were meeting somewhere I'd never been inside before stepping into a dark establishment from the outside light disoriented me so he'd always be just inside the doors at the first ashtray. Sweet story, huh? He was the the only thing I knew about life and love as an adult. I miss him more than I can share. His mother is the only other woman I ever shared him with. No kidding. 12 yrs. and I know he was faithful and I remained righetous as I promised when we first committed to each other in 1992. We lost 3 babies & the last was stillborn. Paul & his first wife lost twins @ thier birth so he was blessed with the son & daughter she was able to give him a few yrs. befor they divorced and helping me raise my 4yr. old and his big sis was all the fatherhood he could have hoped for. One would think that after having unprotected sex with him for 3yrs. after we lost the last baby... that I could no longer conceive. No. I mean no. God decides when there is life & when there is no life. period. I mean suddenly I miss a period. As Ellen Degeneres would say: What? When I told Paul I'm sorry but I guess God's still mad at me and I'm gonna lose another baby. He said" what? We had sex and you forgot to tell me? I'm running 1 cigarette behind" and lit one. "No, I told you this trailer is too small for your big ass to pass me in the hallway without you turning sideways.:) Anyway if God gives us a little girl and let's her live I'm naming her Clona to show your Mother how much we love her and so there will be another generation born with a girl named Clona or after the name being in every generation of his family, his mother would have been the last(none of his brothers named thier daughters Clona so if God gave us this opportunity to carry on a positive family tradition I had the choice of picking that instead of my family's legacy's of incest, alcohol, and emotional abandonment issues. No contest. While pregnant, I fell and while seeming to float to the ground as is caught and gently being lowered on angel wings, I thought "well, if that wasn't grace & poise, "Hey Grace... an unexpected and unasked for gift from God. Clona Grace Nolan. So, ladylike and royal sounding. Just as a name honoring a mother and our heavenly Father should sound, like a royal title. Paul went to god @10:32am on Dec.10, 2003. Whew...so much for a long story short but to me, next to the Holy Bible, it's the greated story Ever told. Ever. Grace and I bought a tattered copy of the original movie: Jesus Christ Superstar and took it to watch at her GodFather's property affectionately known as the "Frog Pond" and as it turned out our first night that trip it rained like Noah's flood. We ended up more or less cut off from our musician friends seeking shelter in a tarped area her father helped construct for just such a weather need, around the campfire and a frige for beer& food. We hunkered down in the air conditioned cabin with our fridge full of soda, fudge pops, and other necessary comfort items including a t.v. with vcr. I popped in the tape with really very little background info to Grace re. anything I remembered about it & to be quite honest, I wasn't even sure I'd ever even seen the movie or had just had some exposure to it. I prayed she'd enjoy the music if nothing else so I'd get the chance to take in the movie at least. As usual, she was simply Amazing. Grace memorized every song and had me pause the songs at points where she needed to clarify the actual words vs. what she had interpreted. Not only the music thrilled her but she totally grasped the story being told. Of course she was only six at the time, maybe seven, so she had questions about the biblical aspects. This was great and as a matter of fact, her Godfather invited his church out to the pond at our next visit, and surprised us with the opportunity to have Grace baptised under the tree in the water where she and Daddy first fished together & the last spot he sat in his car to watch her swim underwater on her own for the first and his last time to watch. Then last year, she asked to be re-baptised in our church because in her words," she has a personal relationship with Jesus now and understands that a Baptism is her chance to share that growing with her church of her choice.:) Then, our copy of the movie disappeared after we only got to watch it that one time. Since I am on disability we are on a fixed income which means things some take for granted as a "given" in life, I'm not able to just "give" her. Right now, we were forced to move out of our apt. we'd lived in for 4 yrs. do to a mold issue so bad the gov. closed the property. We had 60days to move and we moved into this great new neighborhood and a super school system on Dec. 3rd. Needless to say the move left no room for x-mas bonus' for Santa's elves and even one very understanding 10 yr. old didn't get a dvd player to replace the one on our t.v. that's broken. On the plus side, we did't have cable, sat. dish, and had a very outdated computer running on DSL? (is that what they call the slow one? Slow as snot?) We now have cable (go disney channel, Hanna Montana, etc., and Cody's dad (my high school prince I still know is my Happily Ever After) gave us the latest Microsoft had to offer my new High Speed provider, and completely cleaned off our hard drive and gave us virtually a new computer. I'm hoping by late Feb. I can buy us a printer and a scanner, oh darn, I guess that means I get to see my Tony again huh?:) Anyhoo.. my point is I don't possess never have and probably never will have credit cards so I can't get a membership for movie rentals, her borther (accidentally) ran up charges on both our library cards,and have yet to be able to find our copy of the movie. The other day I heard that there will be a live performance of Jesus Christ Superstar at a beautiful venue here in Indianapolis the eight (I think ) of Feb. Not only would the live performance and the chance for her to see a show at the Shriners Murat Temple auditorium be a thrill just to show her the elaborate decor. But before her daddy died one of the last things she did was to buy her a violin off e-bay. He said" Peaches, I'm not gonna make it to her Kindergarten graduation so that night give her this and tell her daddy said to shoot for the stars and he would be in Heaven to help guide her to her target... anything she wanted to be she could be. Year before last I enrolled her in Indy's Magnet Options School of Performing Arts. This exposure to the arts taught her basic keyboard skills, basic recorder, choir, ballet, jazz, tap, and yes Daddy... Grandma Clona, Ashley, you and I all got to watch her performance on the violin in a few school programs!! If there is any way I can afford to buy she and I tickets to that Feb. performance of Jesus Christ Superstar... I know the experience of seeing and hearing her first theater (outside of a school field trip setting) will be a life changing moment for Gracie in more ways than I can even imagine. This auditorium is very egyptian, reds golds, textures in velvets, with brass and procealn decor she has never seen with her own eyes. Wow. I've probably been the rudest person to ever sign into your guest book and I do apologize. Your invitation to your website was so sincere and your apology for so little to offer as far as updates was so sweet I just knew this was the place to start my "virtual search" for what I know is un unrealistic expectation to put on myself. I can't afford those tix but I asked God to guide me to someone who would simply read whatever the Holy Spirit led me to type. But most of all... someone who whold think one night at the Frog Pond a very special story was unfolding as a little girl and her mama watched one of life's most important lessons...it's not just the story one's watching that can be the important thing as much as the one who gets to watch you hear it, while they held you, a new story was unfolding. Last I ask that you pray for us to continue on this positive road I insist we live on. It positively amazes me the blessings I receive without enough since to even ask God for half of them but that's why He called his gifts "Grace" I'll pray for you Hanna and your loving sisters. I just checked your former guest book singings to see how inapproiate my length of this comment and if no one has truley signed it since 2004 maybe I haven't breached protocal too too drastically. Thanks for being here when I obviously needed someone to "talk" to or at least seeing my words has certainly valadated them. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ironically, Gracie's first sleep-over with a new friend at her new school is this Fri. night with a little girl named Hanna, of course. God dosen't do anything half-assed and he knows things like your name also being Hanna, I take as his way of giving me the "thumbs up" when I wonder if he likes something personal like this comment that I'm doing, just for me. We just watched it on Great Performances last night. I remember when these songs were in the top 20 on the radio -- wow, does that age me or what? Anyway -- the songs remain timeless and powerful.
