refuse to call him Rev.)I am ashamed that he is putting the Baptist name on this slander he makes in the name of God. I am a member of a Baptist church in the town where I live. I also have several very close gay friends. I do not necessarily approve of their lifestyle. But they know that neither do I condemn them for it. The Bible says "Judge not, lest ye be judged" and I totally believe that. I read about Mr. Phelps' webpage in USA Weekend and was totally appalled. I sincerely hope that you will look to me if there is anything at all I can do to oppose this evil man, even if it is a small thing. I am only one voice... but it _is_ a loud voice. :) Holly Little |

Jesus Christ (part of his church's name) from. My bible tells me this man loved all...had a few words for those that condemed without looking at themselves first. "Let ye without sin, cast the first stone" I know this is in reference to a prostitute but I feel the truth is there. My bible also points out that "for know ye not? For GOD is Love" Right to your own belief is GOD given and choice in this life is also a given...no man has the right to judge anothers personal belief when it does not effect anyone but themself. What choices we make that concern no one but ourself and effect no others life are not no to be judged by man. |

| Comments: | Great site! It gets so disheartening being constantly told
by non-gays that our inherent sexuality is a "chosen lifestyle" or "a mental illness" or "a sin against God" or any effort to "recruit children" or "destroy family values" or seek "special rights." The evil propaganda against our kind just never seems to stop... and Phelps is the most blatant and obvious of the bunch. I wonder when heterosexuals "chose" their sexuality and why it is so important they they force us to live sad, isolated, dishonest lives for the sake of their religious beliefs? If they really believe we are going to burn in some afterlife Hell, why do they work so hard to make life here on Earth a living Hell for gay and lesbian human beings? I didn't choose my sexuality, It is NOT a lifestyle, It is a natural part of myself which I accept and embrace fully. I will never again live a lie for the sake of religious zealots. Experience is so much better than second-hand judgement... wouldn't it be great if these anti-gay heterosexuals could just once walk in our shoes before opening their mouths about our existence? I know marriage is more than love, I am not christian and will not have a church wedding, but others can if they want to, and when the state gives you the right to claim a partner on taxes you should be able to no matter who that person is, with a church wedding or just a dedication ceremony 3 I know that the bible says it to be wrong and I still puzzle over why gay people believe in God, but they are free to believe what they want,just as everyone is, and I believe it is not wrong at all 4 freedom of speech is fine, I love it, but if you voice your opinion you should expect people to disagree and fight your beliefs if they feel they are wrong, Phelps is also fighting our beliefs by using his freedom of speech. 5 my reasoning on what???? if you mean fighting him it is because I don't want people to feel that way, just as he don't want us to be gay, I think he and people who agree are ignorant and I want to try and educate them 6 I know we need laws and I didn't say we don't, I have morals, just because my morals aren't YOUR morals I still have morals, and I have manners and self control, if I didn't I would have done something dumb when I was at the wedding, I would have be violent or acted out instead of staying away from them. For really great articles disproving the bible passages about homosexuality, and christian legalism, you should visit www.truluck.com. It's one of the more positive christian sites I have seen. As for bringing children to these pickets, exposing children to that sort of hateful behavior should be considered a form of child abuse. |

| Comments: | You guys better wake up. The church I go to is baptist in doctrine, and I am baptist in doctrine. Quit stereotyping us, not all Baptist are like that, you guys don't want us to stereotype, so I am asking you to do the same. Just because Phelps is like that, don't mean all are. Fred Phelps and his church, the doctrine is not at all baptist, I do disagree with phelps in many things. But I do agree that Homosexuality is a sin, it is no more of a sin that any of the others, just like hetersexual fornication, or stealing, or lying is a sin. I am against crimes against gays, and I am against protesting funerals. However you gay activists, need to get a life. First of all, no one is born gay, I know people who are ex gays(they were gay, and now they are straight), and changed(I am one of them). Gays are not getting discriminated against, as far as employement goes, it is illegal to ask about sexual orientation. So if it seens like discrimination against gays, it is only a coinidence. Don't get into suicides Gays are not more sucidal that striaghts, recent studies show that straights are more suicidal that gays. Don't even get into hate-crimes. You guys all talk about Matthew Shepards(the two who killed him, that was a horrible crime, and they got what they deserved, life in prision.), and then there was the Jenny Jones murder, where a gay guy brought someone to the show to say he had a crush on him, and the guy that was brought on the show killed the gay person who brought him. Gays were all upset at that. Then one of those talk shows, on ABC. I forget which on it is, they interviewed this gay kid who was being beaten, teased, ridiculed by his classmate. They spent more than half the show on him, saying how he was treated by his classmate, interiewed his family members as well. But not once did they mention that he bruatally killed 3 of his classmates(2 of them were a hetersexual couple). His trial did not start yet, but interviewing him, could hurt the trial, and he could get away with murder. They did not once mention that he killed, interviewed the family members of the 3 kids he killed, or mention the kids names. Don't get me wrong, what the classmates did to him was wrong, and everyone ridiculed him(Including those 3 he killed), what they did was wrong. But it was not excuss to kill some of these kids. If you are wondering how I found out that he killed, I had from other sources. I know you are feeling sorry for this kid, as well as everyelse that watch that talk show, you are feeling sorry for someone who has murdered his classmates. Then there was Jesse Durkishing, a 13 year old boy who was tied up, raped, and murdered by a gay couple. No one heard about that, like the did of Matthew Shepards murder. Last year there was this gay pride parade in chicago. There was one guy that protested(I believe he was one of Phelps followers) Yet some of the gay people beat him up. The protester is being charged with a hate crime, and with jail-time and fines, the gay people who beat him are getting a lesser punishment that the protester. Tell me something, Who really commited the hate crime, the protester or those who are gay that beat up the protester. Think about it for a minute. So why is it that everytime a gay was murdered,or even if something much less, or someone says something that offended a gay, all you gays scream out hate crime, but when a gay person is a murderer, all the gays are silent as the tomb, or try to turn the murderer into a victim. Why is that, oh I guess crimes that gays commit are not nearly as bad as crimes commited against gays. Or it is not politically correct to report crimes that Gays commit, or not politically correct to say that gays commit hate crimes, because we don't want to offend the gays. I bet you are apart of Glaad or baptist watch, let me say this about them, they are no different from the Ku Klax Klan, Glaad is just as hateful as the KKK, or the Nazis. |

In case you haven't heard, Phelps has decided that God now also hates Vanderbilt University, because students showed up to protest him and his beliefs in Nashville when a bill was being discused about equal rights for homosexuals and people with disabilities. | Comments: | I have created a site, with a team of people, to put an end to Phelps antics. It is a continuous project and I am hoping that as the site grows we might be able to band together and put a lid on Phelps. If all the anti-Phelps sites were somehow linked together it would give more information out to more people. Rome wasn't built in a day, and no war was won over night. It will take as many people as we can gather, and as much support as we can generate to even make a dent in a difference to the damage he has done. But I am willing to die trying. And in saying that let him protest my funeral! |

| Comments: | I truly have a lot I want to say but I am finding it hard to put into words how I feel. I do not want to hurt feelings but I do feel that this is a good place to let out my feelings about Mr. Phelps. I do not agree with same sex relationships, and I will not support "gay" people just because they are gay. However, I do support PEOPLE of all kinds. EVERYONE deserves a funeral without protest. It has come to my attention that Mr. Phelps has recenlty decided to protest funerals of military members who have died in the Iraq conflict.
I cannot put my opinion into any more words. I would break Mr. Phelp's every bone if I saw him. Everyone has a family and everyone means something to someone. To take away from their last moments with their loved one is beyond wrong and only brings anger to my heart. I watched a TV special and saw him and his folowers burn an American flag. I am a memeber of the United States Airforce and I am an American. I will not stand for someone to burn my flag on my soil. This man should have every last breath of air and life choked from him. I am sorry if I have offended or hurt anyone with my writing and rambling but I feel very strong about my country and all of its people, gay, straight, male, female, white, black, any religion and everything in between. Mr. Phelps needs to leave all my American people alone and in peace or I will leave him in pieces. |
