| Comments: | Dear Mr. Norman, First I wanted to think you for coming to our school today (Decatur Central High School). Secondly I would like to think you for not coming to try to persuade us to do the right thing but to share with us what you have gotten out of life. I think many kids will think about what you have said and even if they just think about it, it was worth having you come. Thank You and come back any time. DCHS Student Bridgett Newby |

| Comments: | Whats happening Andre, It took me a a couple weeks to figure out the Website; I couldn't remember if it was footsteps.com,projectfootprint.com, finally got it though. Just wanted to say that I was going to be in that list of 10% of UMB kids who didnt post anything. thought the presentation was great. I plan on looking into more statistical numbers of crime rates and incarceration rates this semester so I can rightfully call myself an advocate. Hope to hear from you again sometime, - Matt Robertson |

| Comments: | Your discussion on Tuesday was very inspirational. To see how a person on all the wrong paths in life was able to turn his life around was amazing to hear. It helped me rethink our criminal justice system. Thank you. |

| Comments: | I thought that the presentation was very interesting. I learned to look at life in a different way, and also realized on what I am missing out on by not getting to know about other cultures. It was a fun way to get the point across and also teach us about life. The most important thing I took from it, was that anything I really want to do, I can! |

| Comments: | I was very inspired by Andre Norman's presentation. He changed the way I think about our criminal justice system. It's amazing how a person who was headed in all the wrong directions in life could turn his life around and become the best person he could possibly be. |

| Comments: | i really enjoyed the lecture it made my dad it showed me how second chance does work. and that every person deserves a second chance... and the color of the skin is just a color it is what is inside the person that defines him.... in addition to all that we should interact with each other more. |

| Comments: | Dr. Mr Norman, I thank you for the opporunity you gave me and my fellow classmates yesterday at UMB. You not only challenged students to look at things in a different way but also showed us that everything is possible. It just has to begin with us wanting to do it. I really thank you for this opportunity. |

| Comments: | The talk Andre gave at my school was definitely much different from most speeches given to college students. He challenged the students and took them out of their comfort zones by addressing them and making them answer on the spot. I think the talk really opened peoples' eyes to realize perseverance and hard work will take you places in life. |

| Comments: | your desire to always be in the positive percentage is inspiring. instead of letting numbers get you down, you think positively. i also appreciated your desire to dig beyond just a basic question answer. people say my favorite phrase is i dont know. you didnt accept that. the answer is always there, but sometimes i just dont share. you definitely made an impact, mostly because i believe that you leave people thinking more, which is never a bad thing. |

| Comments: | Andre, I wanted to thank you for coming to class today with your inspirational words. I admire you in every way and only hope that one day I will be able to change lives as you have done. The one thing I loved about what you said was that experience doesn't matter it's the love and devotion that you dedicate yourself to give that individual. I have alot of love to give and when I become a mentor I hope someone will benefit from that and will trust in me. Congratulations on everything you have accomplished. |

| Comments: | You were at my school(UMASS boston)today in two of my classes both juvenile deliq and race and ethnic relations class. I really enjoyed listening to you talk because you strengthened my believes that one can do whatever they put their minds despite their background. If you were able to do it so can the rest of the world. Society can sometimes put individuals down but it's up those individuals to get up dust themselves off and keep going. I really appreciate the words of wisdom you passed on to us today. May God give you strength to continue to do this work. |

| Comments: | I think he’s awesome speaker. But there is something that he talked that I’m not really agreed on, like everyone could be a leader if they wanted to. In my perspective, a leader needs to have any these potential: wealth, health, or motivation. If I’m a sex addiction, mental disorders or any disabilities, could I be a leader and how long? The reason Bush was president because he’s wealthy. He and his father could buy the sit in White House. A normal person who’s live is so perfect, even if they wanted to become a leader, what’s driving them? Money, I guest. There are two types of leaders bad and good. But what motivates a poor person to become a leader and what motivates a rich become a leader? It’s just like American Dreams that everyone is talking about in this country, which is making people live miserable. That’s why some people are struggling to reach that dream and end up with suffering and depression. |

| Comments: | Andre, I think injecting hope and thoughtfulness is crucial. But practical considerations such as employment for exfelons must follow or the hope will shrivel into despair and even rage. It has become obvious that background checks which can reach back an almost unlimited amount of years is a problem. The computer age has made this possible and is dramatically increasing the amount of people who cannot leave the mistakes of youth or environment in the past where they belong. Need I detail the social and economic impact that will follow as this trend continues? I understand all too well the fears of hiring exfelons. Have they changed? What damage might occur if I do hire an exfelon? Who can really ever know about another person? It is not hard to see the prospective employer's side of the equation. But the fact is that people do change. The fact is that whether someone is an exfelon or not, whether they have a clean background or not, there is always a chance being taken. Time passing is one thing that will ensure change. Nothing is static. All things change. Over say seven years it is pretty obvious which direction a person is going to take. So many felons have done all they can to follow the programs of schooling they are assured will help them find jobs with survivable pay in society. These people stick to that course and for years are better citizens that many who aren't felons. Time again tells. As you fight, why not fight for something concrete such as a law for all states that limits how many years back a background check can be run? It doesn't cover all the bases but it is certainly a start. Actually, the extent to which invasion of personal privacy has progressed should concern everyone and not just exfelons. Everyone's lives are being invaded without even a knock on the door. |

| Comments: | I am very greatful for having the opportunity to experience such a wonderful and powerful, down to earth messge from a man I could identify with. On Sunday, 07/20/08, Mr. Norman opened the Plenary Sessions for the Kentucky School and he was trully a blessing. His message resounded with me and I strongly believe that men will need to take back their rightful place and put things in order. I will always keep in my mind and heart his introduction and plan on using it myself the next time I am asked to introduce myself. I believe he started off that he was the grandson, son, and father. This was a powerful intro and it set the tone for what was next to come. He really was excited about his professional work and calling and appeared to have an eagerness and williness to help. When I told him I had a group of men that I worked with in recovery he offered his assistance and himself for service. I was really impressed. Keep the faith and the blessings will follow Miran - the grandson of Green, and the son of Matthew |

| Comments: | I read your story "Life aftr Prison" and it is definitely insight for me. My boyfriend was just released a week ago and I wonder what the future holds. Life is hard and society is designed to send ex-convicts back but so is the mindset of those ex-convicts. Your story is very impressional and I am going to share it with him. I don't like the way that they ended it...kinda open to what happen. Did he make it or did he continue the cycle? By the link to your website, answered that question. Continue to be a shining light for others in search of their place in the "free world" and may GOD bless your efforts. |

| Comments: | Dear Brother Andre, I read your article on Enzine Articles at http://ezinearticles.com/?Prisoner-Reentry:-What-It-Takes-to-Succeed&id=57205 and was very mood and exhilerated at the same time. I have been lead by the spirit to assist inmates in returning home on sound biblical principles. And yes it is very challenging, but with the Lord all things are possible. I would love your insight as to how I can encourage our community to also reach out to these inmates. Many of these inmates are violent offenders either Assault, murder or ex sex offenders and our community would rather sweep them under the carpet, rather then give them a second chance. Thank you so much in advance for your time. May the Lord Richy bless you. Brother Tim http://www.prison-ministries.info Telephone 978-466-3815 |

| Comments: | You are right. One could hear a pin drop in the room @ the MJJA conference where Andre movtivated the room. The advice I loved best was not to get so "efficient" so as to loose one's "self" in the process of reaching out to a child in need. My hope is to present the possibility of Andre speaking to our CASA group (partnered with a local Domestic Violence Shelter) in April, 2008. More later. Many thanks for a great evening, Andre! | Comments: | Andrea, i sincerely appreciate your efforts in all that you do, however there is nothing positive about the outcome of your primary candidates which in this case are ex cons, once they have completed your program and have successfully conquered your program they still have no jobs because no one will higher them look at the ststa, also your focus is on drug related charges, while 99 percent of all convicted felons have an extensive criminal history, most of the changes that the make in their lives and or recoveries happen at a much older and wiser age, those are the ones who need jobs equally as much ...didnt god tell you |

| Comments: | I learned valuable information about prisons that I didn't know, such as the percentage of black people in prison. The idea that rich kids go to therapy and poor kids go to jail resonated with me. I liked that Andre specifically asked for our thoughts about what we could do to make a difference, and explained how we could use our privledge to help others in specific situations. I feel motivated to continue the tutor/mentor program I am involved with at UMASS and keep assisting local youth with their homework and providing friendship and support. |

| Comments: | Andre, a promise is a promise....I wanted to thank you for taking time to come speak to us. To be honest, at the beginning, I thought the lecture was going to be centered around racial issues, but instead you gave it an interesting twist. What captured me the most was when you asked us to CHALLENGE HISTORY and WHAT OUR SOLUTION WAS. I have been thinking about my contribution ever since. I know I still want to be a teacher...When I finally figure it out concretely I will let you know. Again, GRACIAS from all the Dominicans you just gave hope to. |

| Comments: | It was fantastic presentation. As an alien resident in the U.S, I learned a lot from his speech. He open my eyes to think out side the box. I am setting up my own goals to support people like me who suffer by ethinic war in Srilanka. From his presentation I changed my mind from being a self focused individual to community focused individual. |

| Comments: | Mr. Norman's story is inspiring and powerful. He has an important message to share: If things are to change, we cannot sit around and wait. We are the ones to make a difference. He has a great plan of what he wants to achieve in his lifetime. He says: "If I can do it, you can too. When are you going to start create your plan? What really hit me was the thing of living life for a bigger purpose. What are yo going to do for your community? How are you going to make a difference? Listen to somebody like Norman can be an incredible wakeup call for many. He is full of passion, energy and vision. We need more people like him. |

| Comments: | Andre, I so hurt now, my son was at the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up driving a car that had drug. pled guily to being in the car and it was noted that he was a minimum participant in the conspiracy, did the time, came out and is trying to get on with his life after completing a B.S. and Master in Sport Administration and Sport and Fitness Management Now he is unable to find a job. He was told that he must get to work even if its at this truck company. Being black and a male is very hard. I afraid to think what is going to happen to him, get an education, plus you have to pay for it, how making min. wage will not pay for it. We are retirement ages now, paid attorneys fee for nothing before. If he was part of the conspiracy he would have had money. We are trying setup a Community Center now so that no one will go thru what we have had to go thru.A life mean nothing to this system. Hurt Mother |

I really need any help I can to do a better job, maybe you can guide me, or help me with info, help me to get them training, and schooling, I would really like to learn as much as possible. | Comments: | I was accused of a felony in 2003. The USPS accused me of embezzling around $4800. I went to prison for 4 months, and had 4 months house arrest. As I write I maintain my innocence. The Judge sent me to prison to learn responsibility. The USPS allowed me to resign my position. The woman that did the financial audit is the Postmaster in the office I left. I served my time, paid the money back with a letter stating my inocence. Now what??? I have received my Associate's degree and plan to finish my Bachelor's degree. I had a job at a local florist for almost a year. I quit 2 weeks ago because they treated me like dirt. They screamed and yelled at me and in general talked about me behind my back. The day I quit my boss got in my face and screamed at me so loud that people outside the shop heard her. I have taken all the mental abuse I could stand. I was mentally abused during my 18 yr. marriage. It took about 8 years of counselling to get me through that. I could not back on that. When I apply for a job I was told as long as I admitted I was a convicted felon and told them I would discuss it in an interview that was sufficient. That way I could at least get an interview. I refuse to work for someone where money is involved because I will not be set up again. So what do I do? I am at wits end. Can you help me locate anyone who gives felons a second chance? I play the piano at my Church every Sunday. My Church Family supported me throughout the whole ordeal as they have known me since I was a child and they know I would never take the money. Why are others so mean and vicious to someone that claims their inocence? Thank you for your website and I hope you have continued success with it. Sarah (Betsy) Henderson |

Once I started writting the response paper I couldn't stop. There's so much to say about you. You're quite the inspiration to anyone you come in contact with. I'm feeling that in a major way and haven't been able to stop thinking about what you spoke to me about. As you know I'm still in the process of learning to push my pieces forward, and I would really appreciate if you would school me on how to master this, the hunger is still there strong. I love your web page. When can I see you again? As you can see i don't have a lot of faith in the guys to want to believe that they would change their minds about how to treat a girl i guess you can say that i had a few experiences. but anyways i just wanted to write you to let you know that you did a good job and that i didn't fall asleep during your talk so thats a good thing : ) oh yeah i'm my name is Marie and you spoke at my school, Brockton High i'm interested in having a career in law i'm just not sure what exactly so i'll definitly keep in touch if i have any more questions because i know i will Thanks again Marie |

| Comments: | Andre, your presentation was very touching and I really appreciated how you used your mistakes and learned from them. Now that you are older and wiser, You are reaching out to us High School students by letting us know what is really out there and how our avoidance of some things will keep us safe from screwing our lives up. When you made your presentation at Brockton High School on Feb. 15th, it was a very life-altering presentation for me. In some parts, you went real deep and I felt like you were describing me, but You have made your point about Boys, Girls, and The "Hood". A million "thank yous" to you and God Bless you and your family. I'll be waiting for your book!!! |

| Comments: | Andre's speach definatly had an impact on not only me but everyone in the room. Most people might have heard this and thought that it was just a speace about his past and what its like. If this is all that the others got out of it then i heard a different story. I heard a story of success and the long hard road he took to get it. How he went from prison to lecturing at the top schools in the country. Andre was not just another motivational speaker but a friend to all of us for proving to us that no matter how low life brings you, you can always rise back to the top if it is what you desire, and that is why i beilieve that the encouragement from him for our youth to become less involved in crime and aim their futures in the direction of succes and happiness. On that note i would just like to say thanks to Dre for everything he brought to the table and i am looking forward to reading the up and coming "Footprints". Goodlooks Dre. Josh Medina |

| Comments: | you came to Brockton High today and you were great. i was so glad you werent just another speaker trying to make a difference in a way that doesnt change us at all. you were a great speaker and you seemed "real". i really appreciated how you made the guys stand up and ask them about sex and how they all sat down because girls werent good for anything else. i was surprised when only one guy was still standing, i knew it wouldnt be many but the guys sat down so quick. i know thats how guys are but i dont think a lot of girls get that. i havent had sex, cause i know guys are like that, but your talk definetely made me proud of myself for not doing anything like that .. but i think you did make a lot of kids speak. you were great! =) |

| Comments: | Well first I'd like to say that Andre made my day with his talk with us. Not only is he funny and nice he's REAL. Something that brockton High Students aren't used to hearing from the teachers mouths is realness. Many of them don't even care, but surely not all because the teachers that allowed us to view Andre's speech cared about are future. To start he simply inspired me even more than I already am, to helping people in the future. I've known for awhile that I want to make a difference and now I feel like in any situation I will definatly make a difference being "black, a woman, and being black". lol I love being black but I do realize that there are huge problems in the black community that effect every one and that need changing. I thought Andre talk was amazing and I appreciate him coming to my school. Thankx Andre keep doin u |

| Comments: | Dear Andre, The first thing I noticed when I visited your web site was the "footprints in the sand." That told me right away before reading anything about you that you are a believer and you acknowledge that somtimes we need to be carried when we are too weak to walk on our own. As a mother of a 27 yr. old son who is incarcerated and will be released in 2008 and an educator for 26 years, I want to know what I can do to help my son prepare to re-enter our community. What are some things he needs to do? Where can I get help in my home state (Kansas)? When will you be in the Kansas City area and what can I do to get you to come talk to our youth? Please hear and answer this mother's cry! May God bless you! |

Hearing the things that you went through helps me to inspire the students that I work with that they can make it evening though you were dealt a bad hand in life. Most of them don't believe that they can be successful unless their selling drugs or having sex with a lot of women. We know that they can be successful without doing these things. | Comments: | Andre norman came and spoke to a group of young black males ages 11-18. From the time he erected his voice he comanded complete and total attention. The young men responded with positive questions and comments. Our director appreciated the "realness" of his speech. Though it was a graphic account of his life our young men were able to relate because of various personal experience. Honesly, since he spoke I have personnaly realized a greater honor in my professional feild of service. Andre gave our young black a reality check. I believe he has inspired our young men to look in the mirror and be truthful to themselves about their current situation and accept facts that they and suppoting adults would have hesitated to share with them. Facts that would hurt emotionally. I feel he had and immediate impact the eight young men I supervise because at the end of the session we went back in our residence and the atmosphere seemed brighter, softer, and more considerate. This carried out through the rest of the week. Our guys seem more motivated and eagar to move forward, for real. This includes myself, a 30 year old adult, separated father of three. I have to look in the mirror and "accept the real truth" in my life and my boys. Peace Dre! |

| Comments: | Let me inform you that Andre' J. Norman is one of the most passionate speaker's of our time. His past has by no means dictated his future and yet it has indeed cause his conviction to give his testimony of God's change in the life of a criminal pass. His painful & violent youth is hard to see when you listen, as did some 200 to 250 Virginia Association of Correctional Educators[VACE]. He shared his desire to just "tell my father that I ain't so bad". We cried with him & laughed out remembering why we reach out to help those in prison. Well, Andre your father, Heavenly Father, heard you and knows you are a blessing to this earth, and you "aint so bad.:) P.S. - We hope you will speak at our VA juvenille youth. | Comments: | Godspeed, Andre! The day would have not been complete As gowns and tassels and hope engaged Without this man whose words rang true Not for all, perhaps, but not for few. I watched as our pain and his past conjoined, As his journey and his trials solidified action, As his own pain exposed eased the strife, In the eyes of our young men awaiting life. He spoke of failure and he spoke of loss, He spoke of possibility and he asked, “Why not?” It was not a lecture from ways gone wrong, But the steps of correction put into song. Andre, you touched our hearts and mended souls, You inspired all to be more than they are, Thank you for the planting of hope filled seeds, Thank you for helping to heal wounds that bleed. God Bless You, Joy Baldree, Principal Cypress Creek Academy Lecanto, FL |

| Comments: | I enjoyed Andre's talk immensely. I was very impressed and know that it must of been a real struggle for Andre and I am so very proud of him and I just know that his talk at the facility I work at meant so much to the boys. As I heard him talk it was all I could do to hold back the tears. Andre is real and speaks from the heart. I was especially impressed when Andre took the time to go to each unit and speak with other youth that were not at his initial presentation. Thank you Andre and God Bless you !!! |

| Comments: | I had the pleasure of experiencing Mr. Norman’s powerful and thought provoking presentation at the Pennsylvania Parole and Probation Association’s annual training institute in May of 2006. As a result, on June 14, 2006 my entire staff and student body had the pleasure of experiencing Mr. Norman’s magic when he graced us with his presence for a full day of presentations and staff trainings. Andre Norman has a rare and unique talent that pulls audiences in and never fully lets them go; even long after he has left the building. He is undisputedly an expert in his field and delivers his message with an air of confidence and candor that makes it seem absolutely effortless. It is with great pleasure that we have contracted his services to take our Ex-offender Re-entry programs to an even greater level of success. When you find something that works, you stick with it and I can see Mr. Norman and Connection Training Services partnering in the struggle to bridge the gaps in prisoner re-entry for quite some time. Thanks again for everything Mr. Norman. |

| Comments: | Andre, I am still talking about you and your presentation. It was truly inspirational, and encouraging to know that our work in juvenile detention is not in vain. Some times it take a little longer than we expect, but you are another example to the world, that if we keep working at it, good will triumph over evil. I pray that you will continue on reaching out to out young people, especially those who have given up hope. They need to see and hear from brothers like you, that have turned their lives around, and are making a difference in others and our communities. God bless, and keep up the good work. |

| Comments: | Brother Andre, I am considered an ex-offender. I've served two decades and six-months straight. I am 18 college credits away from earning my Bachelors Degree in Urban Ministry Leadership. However, I am having a problem obtaining employment in the area I am qualified in which is to work with men on parole/probation and their families here in Philadelphia, PA. I have a passion for helping men to become empowered within their own households and communities but have not found anyone willing to take the chance to hire me. I am married, own a home, driving, in college and hoping to get licenced to preach and teach. What suggestion or connections could you provide me? |

| Comments: | I would just like to say that I was truely moved by his presentation. It is remarkable to see that when someone sets their mind to something and has people that believe in him causing him to believe in himself there is nothing that can not be obtained. I have been working in the system for 10 years and have never seen anyone that has been incarcerated, even for the most minor things change their life to this extent. I don't believe anyone could listen to his presentation and not feel something or wish the same outcome for someone they know in his situation. If offenders can see that this type of thing is possible, maybe they too can change their lives and make a positive contribution to society. It was definitely my pleasure to listen to the life of Mr. Andre Norman. Thank you for allowing me to see that good things can come from troubled beginnings. |

| Comments: | Mr.Norman, I want to thank you again for your dynamic presentation and your inisight workshops, you offered at the Trainers Conference held for the CM/PR Field Instructors in the Office of Children and Family Services. I was moved by your candor, humbled from hearing about your experiences, and inspired by your work. You created a buzz and a sparked among those who came in contact with at the conference. You challenged many who heard you, to take appropriate action to empower young people. I will forever remember the Circle of Family exercise. It made me keenly aware of how fortunate I am to have the family I call my own. Continue your outstanding work, we are all the better because of it. Terry K. | Comments: | Andre, On May 10th you gave a very profound presentation! The workshop on family dynamics gave me several ideas that helped me get closer to several youths in our care. After setting the ground rules/participation requirements, a couple of youths tried to back out. Once we started and the boys saw the process-lets say the rest is history. The two young men volunteered and emotions were high. We did this activity on Mothers day which was tough in and by its self but I think the impact was twice as strong. I am the person that you gave the cd-video to in Albany for the use of the lab top. the young men really enjoyed it. I gave them your web site to access in school and I am collecting info for them. Hope to attend more workshops in the future when your in NY. I 'll keep checking. Thanks again for what you are doing! Chris Baker. |

| Comments: | I am an ex-offender. What I have found out during the past six years of my life, is that I am unemployalbe and as much as I want ot get a steady job, nomatter how hard I try, its to no evail. If I knew then what I noe know, I would have done things differently. Here in the United Kingdom, being a black female, and an ex-offender at that, the odds are stact against you. It is just impossible to get out of the loophole that I have founf myself in. Prayers do help me in understanding that what you do today can affect what happens to you tomorrow. I now understand the laws of carma fully. It is a shame that it took prison, and six years of unemployment, being on state benefit, for me to be aware of the disadvantages of being an ex-offender. I going to continue praying and hoping that God helps me to understand what my true purpose in life is. I am constanlty asking what does it take to be forgiven in this world. I have paid my debt to society six years ago, but society will not let me move on. Being out of work for so long has lessoned my chances of being taken seriously in the workforce. My passion in life is to help people just like myself If there is any way that I can get help from your organisation Andre, or perhaps you might have some connections over here in the U.K, please let me know. | Comments: | I enjoyed your talk today (Lebanon, Indiana)I have a question. A life of crime is so glamorized in the media. How do you get young people to want to do legitimate and legal work when the monetary rewards don't even compare to what they see on T.V. and read in magazines? I work at the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center in Valparaiso Indiana and I learned a great deal from you. Thank you and best wishes in your efforts to help our youth. |
