The dance-a-thon will be held at the Langston University-Oklahoma City Campus on Saturday, June 27, 2009. The six hour dance-a-thon will begin at 10:00 am. The event will benefit the Chapter’s scholarship fund. In addition, Langston University will receive matching funds from the Tom Joyner Foundation. This is “Dancing with a Purpose”. All dancers and vendors can contact Derek Dugar at 405-417-0459 to participate. Vendor’s booth fees are $75.00 non-food and $200.00 food. All booth placements will be based on first come first serve basis. Dancers’ entry fee is $30.00 per couple, dance groups (up to 7 members) entry fee is $50.00. All dancers or groups are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100.00 for their dance efforts to be donated to our scholarship fundraising efforts. Those that raise the $100.00 minimum are awarded special door prizes. There is a $5.00 admission fee for spectators and supporters. | Comments: | Ivery Wheeler is a very good hoofer ! I am 9 years old and he helped me understand the passion of tap . I learned what the most important tool of tap is a screwdriver , because it will help you choose the sound for your tap shoes ! I also learned 3 and a break , which means you do a step three times then a break . What else ? Hmmm ,oh yeah ! You can do the same steps to many different beats . I feel so lucky to meet a great teacher like Ivery Wheeler. Did you know that he has danced for kings, queens,and been in movies and of course Broadway! I hope he comes back to our studio .

When you think about it, all classes began learning thier dance routines around Halloween, and with the Thanksgiving break, what an accomplishment! | Comments: | Shannon, I sure enjoyed your performance last night at Zorba's Mediterranean Cuisine Restaurant, on NW 60th and May. I think it is wonderful that you all will be performing there every Friday night at 8:30...that probably sounds like an advertisement...well, I guess it might be...but there was another lady sitting next to me and she asked if I knew how she could get in touch with the studio for lessons, so we gave her your information. I thought others that come to your web site might want to see you all perform out there too.
I was so inspired by all the positive energy and beauty of your dancing, that I want to ask if you think I could learn to Salsa? I'm in my mid 40's and not very athletic. It sounds like so much fun, I think it would be good exercise and a great way to meet new people. When does your next class start? What can I do between now and when class starts to prepare? I feel like I have been at the studio for years and years but really I am just about to start my fourth semester. It really has become my second home and I love being there, even if I am not dancing. That's when you know just how wonderful everyone there is.
To my teachers, I love all of you! You have helped bring life back in to my life! Thank you Lynna for just telling me to come back when I was so discourage my first class!I have learned so much and excelled more than i ever thought I would in a year and a half. I can't thank you all enough for what you have done for me. You have no idea, really! To my fellow dancers, I Love you all so much! You make me feel like a part of something so special and something so important me. I love that no matter what age difference there is, I never feel out of place and it very rarely even crosses my mind. We all respect one another and that is precious! You all are like a second family to me, Elaine and Robin I love you guys! Thank you for listening to me ramble on and on and for all your help and advice! I wish the best for everyone this year! I am in St. Louis right now having a great time!!!! I am teaching a master Flamenco class and performing with Robert Reed's Annual Tap Festival!! Yes!! I am taking tap classes- with some of the best in the World!!!!! I am so excited, just bought a pair of Tap shoes! I can't wait to break them in and show them off at the studio!!
