Adult Rhythm & Motion: Fulfill your New Year's fitness resolution with our popular Rhythm & Motion class. It's so popular we had to add a new class on Tuesdays, 7:40 - 8:40. Take this class alone or along with our Saturday 9 - 10 am class. $40/month for one class per week; $60/month for two classes per week. NEW! In this workshop, students will receive an introduction to the Horton technique---the official technique of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater! The Horton technique was designed with specific studies to stretch and strengthen various areas of the body. Students will learn the basic Horton warm-up exercises, including the flat back series, lateral stretches, release swings, leg swings and deep lunges and positions used throughout ...the technique such as the Lateral T, stag position, coccyx balance, table position and the cross lunge. Students will also learn some of the basic fortification and prelude studies and work towards putting all of these movements into more complex across-the-floor combinations. At the week's conclusion, there will be a short demonstration of what students have learned! I hope to see all styles of dancers at the workshop!! Why would you miss this? As usual, things have been poppin’ around the Studio. On January 26th Shannon and Erika appeared with Edgar Cruz before a sold-out crowd at OCCC. Our Junior Flamenco Company auditioned for Edgar Cruz and performed España Cani at the show. We’re so proud of our Junior Flamenco company! The Junior Flamenco Company along with Shannon and Erika also performed for Classen SAS Guitar, Spanish and Dance majors last month. Our dancers ROCK! Our studio and dancers were featured on a News 9 Oklahoma broadcast during January. Film crews interviewed Shannon as well as several of our dancers. |

I learned what the most important tool of tap is a screwdriver , because it will help you choose the sound for your tap shoes ! I also learned 3 and a break , which means you do a step three times then a break . What else ? Hmmm ,oh yeah ! You can do the same steps to many different beats . I feel so lucky to meet a great teacher like Ivery Wheeler. Did you know that he has danced for kings, queens,and been in movies and of course Broadway! I hope he comes back to our studio .

Welcome back Everything Goes Dancers!! We are happy that you have chosen to dance with us this year!! Wow!! It is so exciting to feel the great energy coming from all of the dancers and their families, the staff is prepared to share their love and talents of dance with you all! Check out the Faculty link to read about all the new instructors and the classes they will be teaching. Also, coming soon is the newsletter highlighting all of the terrific events our faculty has participated in this summer. Remember to pick up their Everything Goes 80's DVD (our 2008 Spring Production). | Comments: | I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone for being so supportive and just caring! I feel like I have been at the studio for years and years but really I am just about to start my fourth semester. It really has become my second home and I love being there, even if I am not dancing. That's when you know just how wonderful everyone there is.
To my teachers, I love all of you! You have helped bring life back in to my life! Thank you Lynna for just telling me to come back when I was so discourage my first class!I have learned so much and excelled more than i ever thought I would in a year and a half. I can't thank you all enough for what you have done for me. You have no idea, really! To my fellow dancers, I Love you all so much! You make me feel like a part of something so special and something so important me. I love that no matter what age difference there is, I never feel out of place and it very rarely even crosses my mind. We all respect one another and that is precious! You all are like a second family to me, Elaine and Robin I love you guys! Thank you for listening to me ramble on and on and for all your help and advice! I wish the best for everyone this year! Work hard and Love it! It will pay off eventually! Then one day you'll wake up and you'll be dancing on broadway! (or teaching, being in music videos or what ever it is you dream of doing!) I am in St. Louis right now having a great time!!!! I am teaching a master Flamenco class and performing with Robert Reed's Annual Tap Festival!! Yes!! I am taking tap classes- with some of the best in the World!!!!! I am so excited, just bought a pair of Tap shoes! I can't wait to break them in and show them off at the studio!! I hope that more students can join us next year!!!! ALL I can say is WOW!! OLE!!!! I went to vist the famous St. Louis Arch - I took alot of pictures and will post them soon. EVERYTHING GOES DANCE REVUE SATURDAY JUNE 7TH ROSE STATE PERFORMING ARTS THEATRE, MWC REHEARSAL – 9:00 am to 2:00 pm DOORS OPEN AT 8:00 am PLEASE BE IN YOUR SEATS BY 8:30 am ALL DANCERS RETURN TO THE THEATRE BY 6:00 pm TO SET UP IN DRESSING ROOMS.
