| Comments: | Eve, I first saw you in Julian, CA in late July or early August 2003. My friends and I went for the apple pie and stayed until you and your band were done. I'd never heard "Son of a Preacher Man" sang in such a way before or since. I bought "Long Road Home" and "Do You Know Me?" immediately.
I'm in the military and I do a LOT of traveling, but I always took your CDs with me. I've since added them to the iPod, and have all but stopped buying any CDs anymore. Please make your music available on iTunes. I refuse to illegally download music from somebody whose work I love, but CDs get damaged or lost too frequently. Plus, the iTunes path might be great for exposure! I love what you do, Eve. Don't EVER, EVER, EVER stop what you're doing! Thank you |

| Comments: | Dear Eve Selis and all the band,
(this is a small mail I sent to you a few months ago... but didn't know if you got it well.. so here it is again :) My name is Marie Ange and I live in the western France in a beautiful little town called Candé. I got your new cd a few months ago and I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it. I am grateful and happy everytime I hear it, not to mention the lovely art cover and booklet. One of my favorite song is 'One day at a time' (meaningful lyrics!), I also love 'The Gift', and other songs especially speak to me. I appreciate the positive message in each song. I'm so happy to have discovered such a nice artist and band... I've seen you've been touring in the UK...I just hope you will come soon in France someday. God has really given you such a beautiful voice and gift. Keep on this way... Be blessed! Kind regards, Marie-Ange. |

I moved back to the east coast four years ago and one of the things I miss most about San Diego is seeing you and the band perform. I fell hook line and sinker the first time I saw you at Borders. I can't remember how many times I saw you perform coffee shops, Humphrey's etc). It is so great to see you guys are still going strong. I still visit your website and keep tabs on what you are up. I promise when I come to San Diego for a visit I will come and see you perform. Keep up the great work! Your #1 fan, Mark Rimmer |

In the meanwhile, PLEASE will you just give Eve a massive hug for me; you know why. if you get the email to come through I'll send you a proper message but in the meanwhile, that's my request. I hope you will consider it -- need to check one thing for a place but think the club house at La Quinta would be the best bet. I have already talked to several people here and there is a definite interest. In fact, Dan took your CD to work and is playing it as I write. I am thinking about late Sept. or early Oct. And, if you decide to spend the night, we are working on accommodations for you. I am fairly certain we would have at least 60-80 people. Let me know. |

| Comments: | Hey
Just realised I never posted this up - was my review for Fatea of last gig at The Sage. Eve Selis with Elizabeth Cook @ Hall 2 of The Sage, Gateshead - July 27th 2008 - part of Gateshead Sage and Jumpin’ Hot Club’s 2008 SummerTyne Americana Festival weekend. Opening the show was Florida raised, 21st century honky tonk girl, Elizabeth Cook. Recognising that many of us in the audience had already seen her outside on the free stage a couple of hours earlier, she promised us she’d change up the set and throw in a few surprises. Backed by husband and ace songwriter Tim Carroll, Elizabeth effortlessly won the audience over with a selection of tracks from her current album Balls, including the title track which she preceded by saying “Here is the song that started it all. Let’s hope it doesn’t end it too. This is for all the women out there and for their partners - I guess they can learn something!” This sense of humour prevailed throughout the set and soon had the audience feeling they’d known Ms. Cook for a long time. Surprisingly, Elizabeth is also a talented clogger, changing her shoes (whilst joking she wouldn’t disconnect all of Tim’s cables as she had outside earlier when she erroneously danced on a switch!) and clogging all over the stage whilst Tim played one of his fabulous songs, TGV. I have to admit I saw Elizabeth open for ‘Wine Women and Song’ last year and I just wasn’t sure. This time she totally won me over and left me wanting more. I think she has grown in confidence and found her niche. She sings Honky Tonk like any of her older counterparts, citing Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn as two of her greatest influences, yet adds a modern twist for a new generation. However, for me, she shines when she puts her beautiful Southern voice to a ballad; sung live Down Girl (which gains a whole new meaning when you know it was written about a close friend), Sunday Morning (made famous by Velvet Underground), Before I go that Far and her haunting cover of Merle Haggard’s Today I Started Loving You Again, were the highlights of the set. One of her most striking ballads, Mama’s Prayers, was a notable omission but she later mentioned that her mother had recently passed away, which more than explains its absence. She did, however, take requests, which pleased the audience, and treated us to the first song she ever wrote in which she asks Dolly Parton if she ever found it so hard to make it. Very apt since Elizabeth certainly brings to mind Dolly, in sound, appearance, and her life story! Suffice it to say, Elizabeth Cook certainly proved that she has talent aswell as balls and if this performance is any reflection I don’t think she will be an opening act for much longer. As self dubbed Queen of Roadhouse Rock, Eve Selis took to the Stage to rapturous applause, it occurred to me that just two years ago more or less to the day, she was playing the free outdoor Festival stage and now she had almost sold out Hall 2. Testament I think to what this incredible woman has to offer. The first thing that has to strike anyone, is the huge smile lighting up Eve’s face as she takes to the stage; her sheer joy to be on stage sharing what she loves to do, and to be back in a venue she loves, cannot be disguised. Backed by her incredible band, Marc ‘Twang’ Intravaia, Jim ‘Cactus’ Soldi, Larry Grano and Rick Nash (with the notable absence of Sharon Whyte this trip), Eve launched into a rousing version of Angels and Eagles from the new CD of the same title, which pretty much set the precedent for the show. (The song was written by the amazing Kim McLean aka Kim Patton Johnston and I keep hoping one day Eve will twist her arm into coming to play with them.) As Eve treated us to song after song from her earlier albums; Heart Shaped Tatoo, Russellville, Mr Lincoln, Those Words we Said and a collection of songs from the new album; Cryin’ Days, Better Days, Street I grew up on, One day at a Time and That’s Enough, Marc and Jim regularly traded electric guitar solos, so fast you could hardly keep up with who was playing. All the while they were exchanging knowing smiles whilst Eve danced around the stage between them. Nobody would have believed, had they not known, that only just over a year ago she gave birth to baby boy, Henry, and last time she graced this stage she was six months pregnant. She commented that it was almost impossible to believe that this was the case, nor indeed that the first time she played here in 2006, she didn’t even have him. Eve’s ease with the audience is incredible, she chats and jokes from the stage as if we are all old friends she hasn’t seen in way too long. Cactus Jim used to play with Johnny Cash, so it is only right that we should get the token Cash song – a rockin’ version of Folsom Prison Blues which had the audience clapping along and tapping their feet. I got my request when she slowed ther pace for a stunning rendition of the ballad, Pocket Full of Stones, which I suspect hardly left a dry eye in the house. One of the truly unique things about Eve’s performance is how she uses her hands as she sings, to draw the audience in to her space on stage, and to almost tell the story with her actions. Nowhere is it more powerful than during this song as Eve holds up imaginary stones as she is singing about them. Americana sign-language?! In four or five performances now over the past couple of years, I have never seen Eve and the band so tight. They were literally on fire throughout this show, working on a totally intuitive level, which was a joy to witness. Obviously, this being the final show of the tour they are now adept at mind reading, and whilst you may expect them to be exhausted by now, they literally gave it all they had for almost two hours. When Eve talked about leaving for home, you could tell it was bittersweet – sad to be leaving the UK which they have obviously grown to love, but she was desperate to get home to baby Henry! Clearly they were on a high after a great tour and that really came across very powerfully. Towards the end we heard The Gift, written about Marc’s son. Eve told us that her agent was present and getting married in a few weeks and they’d chosen to play 1000 Kisses. She said at first this seemed an odd choice as it was penned about Henry, but she was beginning to see it could have other meanings. Ending the set very fittingly with Passin’ Thru, she suddenly stopped and gave them a chorus of 1000 Kisses, which was a nice gesture. Returning for an encore we got three songs capped off with her stunning cover of the beautiful Gram Parsons song, She, a song for which her ‘lemonade and whiskey voice’ could have been made, then left the stage to thunderous applause and went to spend almost two hours mingling and signing autographs until everyone had left; further testament to what a lovely lady she is. There is no doubt that the sound of Eve’s songs were ringing in everyone’s ears long after the curtain went down and she has left nobody in any doubt of two things; 1) She will be Passin’ Thru again very soon and 2) To quote that Gram Parsons song, My but she sure could sing; Oh yes she sure could sing.” |

Thanks so much for all your good wishes. It really helps to have so many great people on my side. I'm so lucky to be a fan of Eve and the band. Besides the awesome music, how else would I have people half way around the world rooting for me! After 2 1/2 months I'm up and walking and in a few months I should be almost as good as new. I've been lucky enough to see the band 3 times since my accident. Every time has been an evening of pure joy. The hardest thing has been resisting the urge to dance. Next time I won't have to. I can't wait! We're all lucky to be fans of this incredible band. Not a day goes by in our house without at least one Eve disc being played. And Eve and the band are lucky to have great fans like you Keith. If you're ever in San Diego let me know and I'll buy you a pint. Brian |

| Comments: | "Happy, Sappy, Crappy Songs" Review by Paula Twang.
We hosted HSC Songs here last night with about 50 people and it was sooooo much fun. Everyone sang along, moaned and groaned, laughed and reminisced. The show started with Muskrat Love featuring a keyboard solo in which Sharon used a digital patch to mimic rodent squeals and chirps, just like the Captain did. Speaking of Captain & Tennille, it was really funny to sing Love Will Keep Us Together now that the word "whatever" connotates a different intention these days...it really seemed so stupid. Of course we heard Feelings, I Honestly Love You, and Loving You. I was quite impressed by the audience's ability to manage the 3 part round at the end of Paul McCartney's Silly Love Songs. Eve did a great Cher impersonation while sporting blue eye shadow. Marc wore his hair in a comb over (never again-he looked like such a dweeb!). Prizes (old LP's) were awarded to people who had sent in song suggestions, with a bonus pack of Exlax to Tadd Maninno who suggested the crappiest song, Honey, by Bobby Goldsboro. A prize was also awarded to the person who correctly counted the number of times the word 'love' was sung in Yummy Yummy (26). I was a bit mortified when Marc sang Young Girl by Gary Puckett, but it was worth it for the cause. Looking forward to the next edition of Happy Sappy Crappy! |

| Comments: | Last night's happy, sappy crappy love songs concert was great fun and very memorable. I didn't know you were taking requests, but if I had a chance I would have requested "Puppy Love" by the Osmonds and "Heartbeat; it's a Lovebeat" by Tony DeFranco and the DeFranco Family Singers. I am ashamed to admit I actually have that album in my closet.
Maybe you can play those at the next happy, sappy crappy show. I will be looking forward to it! Nancy |

Once again your wonderful music is helping me through one of life's rough patches. As I listen I just break out in tears of joy every so often. I can see each of you as I hear your parts. It's like you are all here with me. You are some of the angels who are all around and I'm truly the lucky one to know you. I can't leave the house yet but you can bet that as soon as I can I'll be at your very next gig.
Thanks for being such awesome people as well as such awesome musicians. You're the best. Brian |

Eve and I are looking at the July UK tour as a duo again around due to the falling Pound and high air fares ... as much as we'd love to bring some or all of the band it won't be practical financially, but we're committed to maintaining a presence over there plus it's always a blast to see you all. We'll continue to update our schedule as things develop! Cheers, Marc |

When are you coming back over? We miss youuuuuuuu!!!! Guy's been learning your drum parts Larry so be warned...the magic midget threatens!! Guy says "you are the best, you rock and I'm really looking forward to seeing you next". So, there you go, you have no choice. We were in the car driving to Church this morning and he was in a bit of a strop (aaaah, 3 1/2 years til he's a teenager and he's already perfected the teenage strop!) soooo we put Angels and Eagles on and..ta da...all was well in the Honda....tis a miracle. He then said that he knows the best band in the world...mmm...wonder who? Hero worship reigns in our home. Flo is moving schools now so is much happier. She's getting more beautiful by the day, lovely lovely girl. It's snowing here today...gorgeous...we love it! So, give us some dates...we need you!! Much love to you all and all your families, The Lewis Clan xxxxxxxxxx |

| Comments: | Dear Eve, Marc et al
Just a note to wish you and yours a VERY happy Christmas and New Year. I am sorry didn't make Nov but I know you get it. See you in Gateshead in 09? Maybe an extra one too lol You guys are thought of often and oddly, a Mary Chapin Carpenter version of 'Bells are ringing' reminded me today that all those we love and care about whether near or far, are all for these next two days doing much the same as each other. I just wanted to wish you a wonderful Christmas and all the very best for a happy and fulfilling 2009. It was such an honour playing two more shows with you in London and Cranleigh and really nice to see you again. I am loving your record especially 'Angels and Eagles' and 'The Gift' just wonderful. Please send my best to Mark too and I hope to see you again and see you play live again as it's so inspiring. I am going to be in NYC a lot next year and would love to play in California too someday. All the best to you and take care, lisaxx |

Fall UK Tour November 13 to November 22 A second promotional tour for their excellent 2008 release Angels and Eagles (cover feature and reviewed in Maverick July 2008) took in seven venues in ten days from as far north as Elgin Red Shoes Theatre in Scotland to Cranleigh Arts Centre in Surrey. It was Eve’s eighth visit to the UK but only the 2nd time touring as a duo with her musical partner of 18 years Marc Twang Intravaia. Marc explains, ‘we’re a little more spontaneous as a duo so we call the songs as inspiration hits. This allows us to include songs we haven’t played in years so no two shows are ever the same.’ Appealing for many people like me who like to attend more than one show. This review recalls some of the memorable moments from the four nights I attended and shares an insight on an extraordinary talent and person that is Eve Selis and the special musical partnership shared with Marc. Back home in San Diego, California, Eve is an active fundraiser for the Breast Cancer and Cerebral Palsy charities that she supports. In recognition, the City Council of San Diego bestowed a special presentation and named May 31 2008 as Eve Selis Day. Musically, this year also saw Eve win the prestigious Best Americana category in the annual San Diego Music Awards. On the family side Eve proudly tells a disbelieving audience, ‘I’ve just become a grandmother, my beautiful daughter Megan has just had a baby…. makes me grandma Evie and my 18-month-old son Henry uncle Hank’! Whether watching her perform or in her company one appreciates first hand that she has an aura and how appropriately named the album is although the title track Angels and Eagles is actually about growing up and flying the nest. Make no mistake Eve’s ability to connect with the audience, far more than stage presence, which she has in abundance, and her stunning vocal ability make her one of the most exciting and dynamic performers in the music scene. Marc Twang is a pivotal part of their musical partnership. Gifted with awesome dexterity and the ability to produce a sound that had Ian Flavell the promoter for Alterstates at the Basement in Chelmsford come out with the memorable line, ‘wow, he has a full band hidden in that ******* box!’ …Referring to sound emanating from his Line 6 Variax Acoustic guitar. Eve admits, ‘we hardly ever get to play like this, as a duo, when we sit down and write the songs this is what I get to hear, this amazing guitar and the melodies flowing in and out… that’s how we write…. I’m so lucky!’ A first visit to the Stables in Milton Keynes, a purpose built auditorium seating some 400 people, produced the performance of the tour. Looking fabulous in a black dress Eve had absolute control of her voice and was totally at ease. She explains, ‘the sound and atmosphere of the venue was so good I could lean back into the sound.’ Marc effortlessly producing some of his best sounding guitar was clearly in the zone exploiting the dynamics of the venue. It was clear that Eve and Marc enjoyed performing as much as the fortunate 300 who were treated to something special…. many queuing after the show to purchase signed CDs and share their appreciation. The venue was excellent from its ample car parking to the themed American food available in the café-bar. Particularly poignant was Eve singing Broken Things and the final number Goodbye. The emotion was powerful and feeling genuine. Speaking to her after the Stables show she explains, ‘I’ve only just been able to start singing this again…it still brings a lump to my throat’. Not wanting to explore further as I know both her close friend Mattie Mills from the Heroes (where Eve was singer until 1999) and her sister Gabrielle had breast cancer. At Cranleigh Eve wipes away a tear after Broken Things. After show, talking with two close friends she and Marc had spent the day with Eve explains, it reminds me of their lives that had been broken but since they found each other are now mended. The couple’s respective children had been introduced to the audience by Marc ‘as best of friends’ before learning of a special holiday to Disney. The Chelmsford Basement gig, was memorable for the quality of the supporting Country/Blues artist Steve Curtis and local outfit Navacross. Steve inviting the excellent Joanna Eden to perform a song co-written together and Eve inviting Steve to play the Cactus Jim part on their Johnny Cash cover. At 6’7’’ Steve is as tall as his playing career long and varied. Recounting the time he wrote to Chris Rea to see if he could play guitar in the band if Robert Ahwai were ever to leave. Chris wrote back telling him that one, Robert wasn’t leaving and second, to join the queue! Eve won’t want to be reminded of the first time in eighteen years she had to stop and abandon a song following one gasp too many of a foul gas emanating from within the audience! After the hilarities had subsided Marc launches into The Gift! The following night there were a few grins as she sung through the opening lines of Better Days now to be known as Better Daze! The last night at Cranleigh was eventful as it was within 5 minutes from cancellation. Blacked out from 6 o’clock by a power cut affecting some 300 towns and villages it was announced that the latest time the event could go ahead was 9.00pm. Although some 100 people waiting outside in –3C on the coldest night of the winter would have been happy to have an unplugged session the H&S ruled this out. Marc and Eve arrived announcing their determination to play no matter what, even if it meant grabbing a guitar and doing the show across the street in the candle lit pub. Fortunately as the deadline loomed the village blossomed into light. Within minutes the excellent singer/songwriter Lisa Redford was on stage playing an acoustic set with songs from her first three albums including the last highly acclaimed Clouds with Silver Lining. Championed by Bob Harris and building up a fan base in New York as well as UK, Lisa, herself accomplished with the guitar, told Marc after the gig if she could play half as well she would be great guitarist. Following the shortest of changeovers Eve and Marc launched into a sing along with I saw the light…no more darkness greeted with cheers and laughter from the seated audience. Eve could not believe that people had been waiting outside in –3c to see her so Marc invited the audience to call the songs. The first call Just three words caused some frantic thumbing through the sheet music as it had not been played on the tour. Demanding on vocals not yet fully warmed, Eve handled with aplomb. Angels and Eagles was next followed by the first guitar solo from Marc with a huge cheer from the audience. Many of the older songs were requested and duly played including, Those words we said, Pocket full of stones and Heart Shaped Tattoo which was the cue for Eve to expose the said tattoo to the largest cheer of the evening! Recounting the encore from the previous night at London’s Luminaire where they pretended to shuffle off stage, the set concluded with Do you Know me. Eve and Marc bid farewell remembering all the names of people to thank as they do after each show. Possessing an enviable ability to recall names of all the people he is introduced to Marc tells the audience, ‘without you, the show would be just a sound check.’ These guys are some most talented musicians in the business so don’t miss the opportunity to get to one (or more) of their gigs next time and support live music to keep the clubs, including Maverick’s own Maidstone venue, putting on acts of this quality. Until Spring 2009 check out the current Eve Selis CD Angels and Eagles which is excellent, receiving a 4 star review in July’s issue. Jonathan Rabett 27.11.2008 |

| Comments: | Hi Eve & Marc,
Saw you completely by chance when you played the New Roscoe in Leeds in November. Wow you were amazing in every way. You took me from foot stomping to real tears and back again. Highlights for me were your sassy cover of Folsom Prison Blues and the beautiful Broken Things - Eve it was so clear you felt every word you sang. I also loved your version of Silent House - please record it! I had a great night and got the chance to have a quick chat with Eve - you are a truly genuine lady. I will definitely be there when you come back to Leeds - soon I hope. In the meantime I will make do with the CDs. Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope to see you in 2009. Sue x |

Dear Paula & Marc, A sliver of a moon followed us to Manifesto Manor Halloween night. The lunar light was low. Cinnamon cider scents wafted through the home, while a threesome warbled songs of the dead and dying. Munchkins wove their way through the long-legged creatures. What a night! Thank you. We really enjoyed the music. It almost made us old duffers want to dance! Blob & Ghoulow (Bob & Glo) |

| Comments: | We've been very lucky with the weather as it's stayed in the 45-55 degree range and only rained twice though we hear that's gonna change tomorrow (Friday) ...
Elgin Scotland was fab and I use that word because we played in the same small theater as the Beatles, who at that time were billed as 'Those Love Me Do boys The Beatles' ... our GPS took us on a beautiful drive right up the middle of Scotland and the Highlands and nothing around for miles, so if we had broken down we would have been screwed, but it all worked out just fine and we saw some amazing scenery .... The audience at the Red Shoes were so warm and welcoming and we hope to return in the Spring or Summer and are grateful to Tish, Daz and Henri for bringing us all the way up there ... Another highlight was playing at the Stables in Milton Keyens ... a fine room in a sort of U shape and you walk out to the stage through the audience so the whole thing feels intimate and has a nice vibe from the get go and the sound was perfect ... we are hearing lots of comments about how Bob Harris plays us and talks about us on his show so we're thankful for that ... Played in Chelmsford last night and learned it was the first capital of England in the year 123, and also where radio was invented .... Funny story about the show in the very small Basement venue ... As we're starting Better Days someone passed gas in a very big way ... Eve and I tried to ignore it but it kept getting worse, and her little chuckle turned into a gasp and then full blown laughter and we had to stop the song ... I think we should now call the song Better Daze ... We have the day off today and are set to explore Canterbury and hang out with some friends and hit a few pubs, and then we make our way to London tomorrow and a gig at the Luminaire and finish up in Cranleigh on Saturday. Cheers, Marc |

Had a nice flight over to London and then played the same night in Stourbridge and the place was jammed packed so it was a great way to kick things off ... We're a little more spontaneous as a duo so we call the songs as inspiration hits and are playing a few songs we haven't done in years and it keeps us on our toes ... Sorry about the spammers hitting the chat page and we'll try to deal with that but in the meantime we look forward to your comments as we make our way through your lovely country. Cheers, Marc |

| Comments: | July 15th 2008. Special day for me. Today I am going to Norwich Arts Centre to see Eve Selis and her band once again.I saw them for the first time live in Norwich at the Arts Centre,in July 2006 and realised that life musically for me was never going to be quite the same again. I had been a fan through meeting them as a reader of Maverick Magazine, and buying albums as a result, but never had experienced the excitment and joy that a live performance from Eve and the Band could bring. So much talent on show, and everyone enjoying themselves, it was a pleasure to watch and be a part of. My second meeting with Eve and the Men in Black was at the Basement in Chelmsford on Feb 18th 2007. Very special as I got to converse with Eve, Marc, and Jim. Had photo's taken with them and even gor a song dedicated to me in memory of my brother Brian, who had died suddenly a week before. The song Goodbye (number 5 on Eve's New Album) So here I am again in Norwich waiting to see them again. What a knockout show Eve and the Guy's put on. I have to say that I am of course a very big fan, but also have to say that you would have to travel a very long way to find a band this good. Meeting up with them afterwards I was very happy to learn that they remembered me!! Eve looked fantastic, always has time for her fans, and has a warmth about her that is real and geniune. Marc shared his ice cold lagers with Jonathan and myself, which was very welcome as it was quite hot in there. Hope Jim's cold is better. Like a true artist you would never have known he was perhaps feeling a little under the weather as his guitar playing as Marc's was superb!!. Great also to meet Rick and Larry. Well done to Eve and the Guy's. Please come back again real soon, regards Colin Downer |

Tour update - July 28th - We’re on a plane headed towards home as Eve and I write this and we’re reflecting on a triumphant yet rocky ending to our month long UK tour …. Our last week in England included shows in Biltson, Buckingham, Bury and Gateshead … Bilston - The venue in Biltson was very Belly Up like (for our San Diego friends reading this), a standing only great sounding room with the added plus that the hotel is through a door to the side of the stage, and the staff even did our laundry! The show was loose and loud and we were warmly received by our audience, and we enjoyed a nice reunion with support band Highway Dave and the Varmints … An interesting phenomenon that we’ve noticed in the UK is the abundance of tribute acts there … almost every venue includes tons of bands playing the music of Pure Purple (Deep Purple), Fred Zeppelin, Dirty DC (AC DC), the Bee Gees Fever etc. and that’s cool, but then there are tribute acts for Amy Winehouse (but spelled Wynehouse), Maet Loaf (Meat Loaf), Small Fakers (Small Faces), Pink Fraud (Pink Floyd), Crowded Out (Crowded House), UB40 and anyone else you can think of … these all sell lots of tickets so we’ve decided to start an Eve Selis tribute band … with that being said please come see our James Taylor TRIBUTE show on Aug. 21st featuring Eve Selis tribute act ‘Eve Sellis‘ and Berkely Hart tribute band ‘Berklee Heart’ … Bittersweet in Buckingham - Promoter and music lover Mike Trotman brought us back to Buckingham after a successful first show there in Feb. 2007 and we managed to fill the Old Town Hall, a charming place in the very center of town … I know I sound like a broken record but again the reception was tremendous and after the show our fans lined up in a large queue to buy CDs ... the group signed all of them until most had left … And then … someone stole our money bag containing all of merchandise sales .. 525 Pounds or roughly 1000 US dollars … What a drag and an awful way to end what had been an incredible evening … Eve is sitting next to me on the plane and she just chimed in ‘ better to have played and lost than never to have played at all ‘ … anyway, Rick declared the money cursed so whoever stole it will experience the following - car problems, medical maladies, impotence (we’re pretty sure we know who it was and it’s a guy) and acne right before a big date … All that being said, we love Buckingham and all but one of the people there and look forward to returning … Bury - The Met is located in the beautiful town 'centre' (broken record again, sorry) and this was our 6th gig there since we started coming over in 2003 and a ‘favourite’ venue of ours with a topnotch staff … and yes Ivor, you broke Jonathan’s record for this tour with your 5th show … our many thanks to you … We have only played acoustically here so it was fun to crank up the guitar amps a little and rock out at the end … my guitar students back home would have been proud of my guitar duel with Cactus Bill, I mean Cactus Jim when we encored with Passin’ Thru … Our after party at an Italian restaurant was hosted by Eve’s friend John Webb and it was our chance to celebrate the end of our tour a day early (will explain later) and the food was great and abundant .. Almost too abundant as the waiter kept coming by and piling more food on our plates, and I remarked to Jim and that is was very much like that dream scene in Magical Mystery Tour where John Lennon keeps shoveling more and more pasta on Aunt Mimi’s plate while sporting an evil grin … No chance to sleep in the next morning as we had an 11:30am load in scheduled at the Sage in … Gateshead - A world class venue and a fitting way to end the tour … We performed in Hall 2 as part of the SummerTyne Festival and came very near to selling it out (upwards of 300 tickets sold) … by this time our band was playing a tighter set and we were reading each other’s minds (though I’m not sure I really want to know what’s going through drummer Larry’s mind) and could cue each other with a tiny nod of the head or eye contact … An odd thing occurred after our show when Rick came running into the dressing room frantically looking for our CD single and saying that he was being pestered by a midget woman who demanded one free and she wasn’t taking no for an answer … After a quick search he found one and ran back out without a word … I was standing next to Justin Townes Earle (son of Steve Earle and another act on the bill) and he remarked that he had run into the same lady earlier and after his 1st set she demanded an autograph … he said ‘ok and do you have a pen and paper?’ .. ‘No’ .. ‘do you have a CD for me to sign?’ … No .. ‘do you have a program?’ … ‘No, but I want your autograph and I want it NOW!’ … He said everyone at the Sage knows the midget woman … Rick then reappeared looking much relieved and told us that after all that she said she really didn’t come to see us but was there to see someone else … On to Heathrow - The reason we had our end of tour dinner the night before was due to our need to hop in the van and drive 5 hours to a Heathrow area Travelodge … we made it in at around 1am and were grateful to Jim and Rick for taking care of the driving duties … This morning we sorted out the back line gear with Josh and said so long until Nov. and then “tour angel†Rebecca drove us in our big van to the airport … as we were pulling in we heard an explosion and Larry and I were showered with glass from our ceiling vent … Rebecca hadn’t noticed a low hanging pipe in the loading/drop area … we tried to reassure her that it would have happened to one us had we been driving and that is was simply a case of bad luck … we gave her a group hug and let her know that we’d take care of it, so no worries ok Rebecca? From start to finish this has been a tour of lessons learned ... Some not so pleasant but hey… that’s life ... We always have a great time traveling and meeting new fans, and each gig we learn something new about our music and performing together ... We are grateful to the fans who tell us stories of how our music has touched their lives and we hope they know how much they have touched ours!! Till next tour and again, keep those comments coming! Love, Eve, Marc, Rick, Dandelion Jim and LARRY! (and Sharon too … awwww … ) |

Was at the Met in Bury on Saturday and you rocked! This was the fourth time that I have seen you (Cinammon Club (x2) and the Met in early 07) - the best by far. The band was really tight - I guess that is the advantage of seeing a show towards the end of a tour. It was great to hear some new stuff off the new album that is now on constant play on my iPod. Hope you had a great time in the UK and look forward to welcoming you back next time. Alan |

Just been smiling reading the latest installment. Anyway, just wanted to say publicly that all of you today at the Sage, were on the best form I've seen you....as I mentioned to Eve it was 2 years ago on the 23rd this month you first played the Sage outside and now you are selling out Hall 2 in the Same Festival - how awesome has it been to watch that happen?! Thankyou for two great gigs (and I'm hoping that via the stone (white one is for Grace...) I was with you in spirit at those I couldn't actually be at!) Speaking of the stone - what a lovely way to have 'my song' as I now consider it - dedicated to me today - I will remember that moment always! Gareth loved you - thought you all rocked. Eve - he thought you were maybe 35 tops!!!! and Dad had to run but said thanks for a great gig. Ok, so have a safe trip home, Eve - give Henry a kiss for me and Marc please give Eve another big hug for me? Eve, thankyou...you know what for....other than just for being you.... Marc - enjoy the beach with Sam - throw a stone in the water for me..... Missing you already. See you in Nov.... Keep in touch... Lots of Gateshead love to take home with you!! Helen xoxoxox ps Eve - mentioned TV - I'm gonna email at some point this week some thoughts I had after as to tv shows/ radio.....don't know if they'll be any help but no harm me sending them..... xoxoxoxx |

Not posted here this tour yet so thought I'd better put that right, especially since I saw in Marc's post that someone is claiming he's attended more shows than anyone else, hey that's *my* job <g> Not up to my previous record of 6 but it's 4 so far (Half Moon Putney, The Maze Nottingham, The Musician Leicester, Robin 2 Bilston) plus I'll be at the Met in Bury so that makes 5 :-) Couldn't make any more due to work getting in the way :-( By the way thanks Eve for the electronic candle, my mum thinks it's great..! | Comments: | Thanks so much to all who have posted on our Chat page ... The band reads them all and we're grateful for the feedback you're giving us so keep them coming!
Tour update - Today is Thursday July 24th and we're just outside of London in a town called Whyteleaf .... seems like we've been on the run from the very moment we touched down at Heathrow and all is a bit of blur but we'll do our best to catch up ... July 16th - Leicester at the Musician - As Joni Mitchell said ' life is for learning' and we're learning to request a hotel outside of the town center as we tried to sleep to the soothing sounds of sirens all night long ... Larry calls this type of sleeping doing the Tuna - Flop on your left side and then on your right and back again ... Leicester itself is an incredibly friendly town where people are kind and helpful, and the show was a barn burner ... if our wonderful audience had it's way we would have played all night, but we finally wound things down after 2 encores and then hit the bar to meet some very cool people and share a pint ... July 17th - Brighton - Eve's favorite for shopping and us guys love the pubs ... it's a very eclectic place where you can sit in a cafe off the street and people watch all day long ... The show was a little different than most ... we hit the stage very showbiz style (and here she is! EEEEEEVE SELIS!) and drummer Larry announces he left his stick bag backstage and promptly marches off to much laughter ... he comes back, we're ready to hit it and Rick finds that his bass doesn't work ... while Rick does a quick fix Jim and I play One Note Samba in a soft jazz style while Eve jokes about it all ... We finally get going and play a fun set and things are tightening up on our end as we always find when we do these tours ... until the end ... We attempt to play Long Road Home at the request of our friend Gary but haven't performed this tune in at least 2 years ... Eve looks at me with her 'deer in the headlights' look and rushes off stage to grab our LRH CD and rips it open so that she can read the words as she sings ... the audience was with us and embraced the loose vibe of the Brighton set ... Back to our hotel afterwards and a reminder to stay away from the town center .... lots of 20 somethings on the street below our rooms and it seemed like they stayed out until all hours and felt the need to yell happily about the excitement of being young and intoxicated .... July 18th - Guildford - Played in a pub in the town center, and our rooms were just around the corner (of course) at the fabulous YMCA ... yes we stayed at the YMCA and might I add never again ... ok if you enjoy the whole hostel experience and sharing bathrooms with strangers ... oh, and after the gig I returned at around 1:30 in the morning and was chatting on the phone to my wife Paula when one of the staff told me I had to go upstairs because I had a midnight curfew ... I told Paula that I never expected at the age of 51 to be sent upstairs because of curfew ... the night clerk overheard me and gave me a half smile and then permission to 'party' in the lobby with my bride though she was a few thousand miles away ... The show itself was my personal favorite in that the place was packed to the rafters and people were standing mere feet from us and hanging on every word and note ... The promoter Peter was great and very accommodating (though next time Travelodge ok?)and our support band Two Fingers of Firewater was talented, knowledgeable and passionate about Americana music and country music in general ... July 20th - Owletts in Cobham - Stayed at a 16th century inn called the Leather Bottle and made famous by Charles Dickens in the Pickwick Papers (chapter 11) ... what an amazing place, quintessential England and supposedly haunted too but no ghosts to be found during our too short stay there ... our drive into Cobham was interesting in that as we proceeded further into the back country, the lanes got smaller and smaller and we're traveling in a huge 9 seat splitter van, so it was, er, a thrill a minute ... we all miss keyboard player Sharon alot, especially husband Jim, and whenever we'd pass by horses near the road we'd let out a collective 'aw Sharon' as we know she'd love this ... Gig at Owletts was outside in a big grassy field and though a little chilly we managed to keep warm courtesy of buckets of Pimms ... we kept the set very upbeat, more so than most, and it became a mini Woodstock minus the rain ... our many thanks to Roger, Claire, Chris and Diane for going through the trouble to build a stage from scratch and then hire out the finest sound and lighting crew ... oh, and did we mention that Lawrence of Arabia and Charles Dickens (he got around) stayed at Owletts? Band Society opened and we always look forward to hearing Matt, Skinny and Scott play their great original tunes ... Another band whose name I can't recall (Demented Dads or something like that) played as well and rocked hard on some Who covers .. July 21st - Sharpethore - Acoustic Sussex hosted by Martin Snowden Another gorgeous drive into the English countryside and a return to Ravenswood, where we kicked off our 2006 tour ... Prior to arriving we caught the Bluebell steam train near the venue and Jim and Rick indulged me taking lots of video of the whole thing so that I can share it with my 5 year old Sam when I get home ... needless to say I miss him like crazy but we'll be home in less than a week and frolicking on the beach in Del Mar so all is good ... At Ravenswood we were happy to see so many there and on a Monday to boot ... Jonathan brought his wife and kids and the band noted that he attended more Eve Selis shows on this tour than anyone else (Maidstone, Norwich, Brighton and Ravenswood , so thanks Jonathon and you too Lyn ... Have enjoyed a few days off in London and now we're back in the van and on our way north to Bilston ... Cheers, Marc |

| Comments: | Hey Eve & Guys,
Just had to drop you a line to say a really big THANKS for bringing your fantastic show back to our green and pleasant shores. We saw you at Komedia 2 years ago after just hearing a couple of tracks from the website and you blew us away with your music, your enthusiasm and your passion. Couldn't quite believe it when you were even better this year - in fact so good we made our way to Ravenswood 4 days later too - does that make us stalkers?! Already looking forward to seeing you back in Sussex next year - you promised us and we're holding you to it! So, thanks again for coming over, (hope you've all had a great time), thanks for the shows, thanks for dedicating 'tattoo' to daughter Sam for her birthday at the Komedia, thanks for taking the time to chat afterwards, thanks for the new album, etc. etc. etc. - you get the idea! Peace, love 'n' stuff - J&S. |

| Comments: | Hey guys
Sounds like all is going great........ Jane Eyre is great yes, but I think I'm with Eve in preferring Cathy and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights!! I REALLY hope you make it North in Nov.....of course the Sage would be awesome, but I could live with driving down to ripon....will be gutted if you end up too far away :-( Of course, both, would be even better....;=) Can't believe Ripon was a weeek ago as I type - the Sage is a week to go as I type...can't wait to see you then..... I have to check what I missed though "You look great for a soon to be grandma too" ???????? See you next week. LOve and hugs to all, esp Eve and Marc. xoxox |

| Comments: | A conduit of energies past and present were summoned to deliver a truly electrifying performance at the Norwich Arts Centre. In response the band were rewarded with full warmth and appreciation of the Norwich audience.
Looking fabulous in the cover outfit and radiating an aura of energy, Eve delivered what the audience had come to hear. Launching straight into 'One Day At a Time', 'I believe in love', 'Mr Lincoln' and 'She' before introducing the next number featuring Cactus Jim. Street I grew up on followed with awesome guitar playing from Marc. Just when you thought you had seen some of the best guitar playing, the guitar duel on the last number between Marc and Jim was a spectacle to behold. This was a full charged performance, electric guitars taking place of the acoustic guitars. A very different set and sound from Maidstone. There was no place for 'Angels and Eagles' but fortunately the beautiful 'Goodbye' was included. Written by Patty Griffin but given a soul by Eve it is one of only four songs from the new album not written by Eve and Marc. The crown remains firmly intact. Eve Selis is most definitely the Queen of Roadhouse Rock and her Men in Black are certainly the jewels. Anyone in waiting will have a long wait to depose her. But Eve wears more than one crown as she is equally adept at delivering the slower songs like 'Goodbye' and 'Pocket Full of Stones' with emotion and conviction, one could not help but be moved and at the same time lifted by the experience. You may have to wait a long time for artists this good to come along again so don’t miss the opportunity to see them live and buy Angels and Eagles. |

| Comments: | Saw Eve and the band at The Musician, Leicester, last night and I have to say it was the best gig I've ever seen down there. The band itself was devastatingly hot. Your bass player is an advert for happiness in the workplace - smiled his way through the whole show!
Thanks to Eve for signing CDs for me and my sister, Elaine, visiting from Edinburgh. Elaine was really touched by both the music and Eve's sweetness talking to us after the gig. Please keep coming to England and Scotland - you've just gained two new, devoted fans - we'll spread the word! Love, Alan |

| Comments: | Here's the latest ...
July 13th - Ripon, North Yorkshire - Our first sunny day in England since the tour began and a great place to be .. this is the second time Eve, Jim and I have been to N. Yorkshire and it's as beautiful as we remembered it, with green rolling hills and wide open spaces, very Jane Eyre, and the rest of the band was enchanted by the scenery ... Performed in Hugh Ripley Hall and were hosted by Dave and Lucy and their very capable crew of Sam, Sean and Ben ... Had a great, fun group of locals show up in support, many of them hearing us on the Bob Harris show the previous week and seeing us for the 1st time ... we're hopeful we can return in Nov. Larry's brother Larry and girlfriend Jeannie joined the tour a few days previously and have been quickly learning the in's and out's of life on the road ... Did I mention that Eve's best friend Phoebe has been with us every step of the way? She's now an honorary member of the band and somehow keeps up with us before and after the shows, and she offers up a fun Phoebe fact each and every day (dare I mention her award winning nightclub challenge back in the '80's? We'll say no more) ... July 14th - Great Yarmouth - another much needed day off and a trip with assistant Rebecca to the Pub on the Prom for beer and food and beer. July 15th - Norwich - Our 3rd trip to the Norwich Art Centre and truly a favorite venue of ours ... The Arts Centre is a converted church dating back from the year 1100 or 1200 and people are buried in the floors and walls; a perfect setting for our song Ballad of Kate Morgan ... Our biggest crowd so far and the response was thunderous ... July 16th - Our apologies to record store owner Andy for not stopping by on our way out of Norwich today but we were running late and anticipated traffic on the way into Leicester so we had to leave sooner than we would have liked ... Tonight we're at the Musician in Leicester, a venue we've played on every tour since 2003 ... More later ... |

| Comments: | Here's a couple of nice reviews of our Edinburgh and Nottingham shows, from the Edinburgh Herald and the Nottingham Evening Post ... good to see you last night Helen!
Tour update to come but not now as we're off to Great Yarmouth in a few minutes ... cheers, Marc MUSIC: Eve Selis, Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh ROB ADAMS Star Rating: **** Eve Selis has passed this way before, playing in an intimate voice and guitar setting, but this gig with her band saw her live up to her "queen of roadhouse rock" reputation. From the opening One Day at a Time, a strutting, good-time shuffle far removed from the Kris Kristofferson song of the same name, Selis might well have been auditioning for imminent Edinburgh visitors Little Feat in their pomp. With her strong, clear voice, the blonde San Diegan commands the stage and is completely at one with a band that has muscle, focus, and guitar licks to spare. Much of the set concentrated on her latest album, Angels and Eagles, but covers of Gram Parsons's She, taken at a very deliberate pace to make the most of its hallelujah chorus, and Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues confirmed Selis as a fine interpreter (as well as, on the latter, a bit of a rockabilly tomboy). The Ballad of Kate Morgan, which documents a still-unsolved San Diego crime from the 1890s, made convincing use of the Woody Guthrie storytelling tradition and if Angels and Eagles itself deals with parental feelings towards offspring fleeing the nest, such sentiments don't detract from its rock'n'roll credentials. advertisement Perhaps more in keeping with the rock lifestyle, Passing Through is a vehicle for Selis at her orneriest and for guitarists Marc Twang and Cactus Jim Soldi to tear it up and swap ever briefer passages over a madly accelerating and exhilarating beat. REVIEW: EVE SELIS, THE MAZE BLAME it on the rain, sang Eve Selis, eyeing the drops from the leaky roof which will need to be fixed during the Maze's upcoming refurbishment. The blonde songstress from San Diego has a sweet sense of humour. What's more, she radiated all the wide-eyed freshness that is distilled in her songs, often co-written with Kim McLean and lead guitarist Marc Intravaia. Best not attempt to pigeonhole this music. The phrases roadhouse rock and hippie chick have been used. Whatever: this was a mature singer-songwriter with loads to say, a grand voice and a bubbly personality. From her new album Angels and Eagles, Selis gave us the title song ("may you breathe in all the freedom you find dancing in the air") and more staples of her touring repertoire, like Street I Grew Up On and I Believe In Love. There was also 1000 Kisses, inspired by her latest child, a baby she was carrying on her last visit to the UK. Larry Grano's drumming underpinned a cracking 4-piece band which really cut loose in Stop The Train. PETER PALMER |

Hey Northern Paul; what's your last name? My UK sister thinks she may have seen you play football back in the day ... also, sorry about the mistake regarding your town - Dunmow, not Dunbow! In Edinburgh today and about to enjoy our first day off without travel and what better place than Scotland ... More tour highlights - July 9th - I forgot to mention our Nottingham support act Paul Handyside and his terrific guitarist Rob ... Paul is a wonderful songwriter and we encourage you to check out his website at www.paulhandyside.com ... July 10th - Next day found us in my sister's hometown York and my reunion with Linda and brother in law Peter ... Fibbers show was extra special for me as it gave me a chance to show off a bit for Linda's friends ... stay in York was far too short though and we hope to make it back in Nov. July 11th - Edinburgh and a performance at Cabaret Voltaire ... our first time in this amazing city and a nice turnout thanks to Tom and a fine writeup in the Metro ... made fast friends with soundman Keith and look forward to returning here again. More later! |

The tour so far has been great and we're calling this the 'Recalculating Tour' in honor of our GPS voice and her constant, sometimes futile attempts to keep us going in the proper direction ... we found it ironic that we got lost in the English countryside trying to get to our venue the 'Maze' while on our our way to Nottingham ... Tour highlights - Stumbling into the Kicking Dickey pub in Great Dunbow and finding them celebrating Independence Day with the Stars and Stripes hung everywhere ... met Paul and Kevin aka XL and proceeded to try to drink all the ale in England ... Apparently I donned an Uncle Sam hat but don't quite remember ... Larry closed the place down with Kevin ... An unmarried band member's encounter with 3 pretty Norwegian women and a riding crop (won't say which member but not me, Jim or Eve) Jim, Eve and Rick getting sunburned onstage in Norway ... at 9 at night! Maidstone and our reunion with our many UK friends ... Putney show and nice weather ... finally ... Larry's been singing 'Michelle' ever since .... Nottingham show was well received and the audience was as I remembered; very welcoming and quick to laugh at our many bad jokes ... Eve and I appearing on Bob Harris' show on BBC 2 radio tonight at 7pm ... On to York! Cheers, Marc |

| Comments: | Again the bar has been raised…this time to a level even Eve will be hard pushed to surpass. The new CD Angels and Eagles is quite simply the best album I have heard for some while. Listening to it for the first time I was emotionally lifted to the extent I thought my bottle of Shiraz had been spiked!
Fourteen beautifully crafted and arranged tracks, some ten of the songs penned by Eve and Marc. Wow, how their writing has developed from early material with songs covering the emotions and relationships of life. Many of the songs will be familiar from airing on recent tours. What is immediately noticeable is the skill and quality in production that has captured the immediacy of the live sound while still retaining the benefits from a studio environment. Sharon’s accordion is able to take prominence on ‘touching the eiffel tower’ with the power and majesty of Eve and equally the awesome dexterity of Marc’s guitar playing come through without ever overwhelming. In fact, the sound has been superbly engineered allowing the listener to appreciate some of the most talented musicians in the business doing what they do best. These guys encapsulate all things that are still good. Go out and buy this CD and if you agree, tell your friends. Furthermore, don’t miss the opportunity to get to one (or more) of the gigs and support live music. Keep these guys coming back over to the UK! |

I used to take lessons at his shop, and go to church with him. I even got the honor of playing with him for a while at church. He taught me so much. But even more, Jim always treated me like famliy. I always felt like I was being mentored, and befriended.
I would love to see you all if you came to Texas! And I would love to contact Jim if that is possible. You guys are truly wonderful live, I have seen it. God's richest blessings on all of you this year! John Shmelinski guitar player and student of music for life. |

October 28Th, 2007 TO ALL those involved with the 'Back to the Garden' amazing evening... What can someone say that hasn’t already been said … ? Lots! You were ALL so amazing last night … what a treat! I wanted you to know that while you all were complimenting us for showing-up … I was doing all I could, to stay seated, I wanted to jump-up and share … “It is ALL of US that should be acknowledging our gratitude to you!” As you know, in this past week lives have been tragically lost, people have been hurt, homes with peoples personal treasures were burnt to the ground, thousands of our precious community and animals are displaced from the comfort of their own beds, beautiful San Diego (our home) as we know it was engulfed in ash, smoke and debris from the ferocious fire & winds, and to bluntly say, “We ALL needed a freakin’ break!” All this continuous chatter from the warranted, yet appreciated uninterrupted news coverage, to those we know, the horror stories, all we witnessed, endless ash clean-up, things canceled, businesses closed, schools closed, beautiful San Diego justifiably shutting down. Honestly all this emotional drainage has deprived ALL of us from enjoying anything in these past many days and nights. Then there was last night… Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh reprieve! At last an opportunity to laugh out loud, sing out loud, enjoy ourselves enormously with great friends and family. You brought us back to when we were all a little (or a lot – in some cases) healthier, younger and mercifully back to a time when EVERYONE we LOVED was still alive! What fun… What camaraderie… What fantastic music … What an opportunity you created for everyone to simply have a safe and comfortable place to just be … We applaud you ALL .. ! Thank you for not canceling and sharing with all of us, your GIFT! You were all, “The light at the end of a very dark tunnel” Love and thankfulness to you all, Eileen & Matt Hallett Cynthia Donatelly, Steve Lomas, Patty Montgomery, Barbara & Dan Lorenz |

| Comments: | Eve and the Men in Black! What a great performance, albeit short!, that you put on during the B.B. King/Photocharity Concert of Hope on Friday, October 12th. All y'all out there ought to know that Eve was the only person of the better sex out there that night. We wanted more! All the other music was great, too, by the way....... :)
Hope you got to meet all the other singers and musicians, especially B.B himself. Diane and I will see you three plus at least Sharon and Rick, I believe, at the October 27th CSN&Y wingding. Can't wait! Take care, Andrew and Diane Stoecker |

Stumbled upon your site while promoting an Americana artist (Trevor Mcshane = www.trevormcshane.net). It's a great site - Very interesting and well laid out! I'm going to ge coming back often. With a site this awesome your music must be awesome as well...I'm going to visit a bit later when I can listen intently to the music as well. If you get a chance to visit Trevor's site I'm sure he'd appreciate your signing his guest book. Be back soon - I'm still on the clock out here in the West. Best, Greg |

Then a friend of mine Helen, sort of led by the hand to some fabulous artists. I must say from what I've heard I have just found a favorite! I LOVE IT! I absolutely loved the ballad of kate morgan, your version of steve earle's taneytown...and loved the rest of the free downloads! I really just can't say enough how thrilled I am to have found your music!
Rock on! Laura |

I met Chrissy and Rick - Blackheart -also known as The Blackhearts.....at Tia's Leicester gig (reminds me Tia and Tommy seem really happy and were asking after you....we had a pm together up here then Dave and drove down to Leicester....just for a change I cried when it was all over!! Have you heard the new album? It's awesome...her best yet. Everyone else looking at this go to www.tiamcgraff.com or find her on myspace..or go listen on cd baby. sure eve won't mind a little plug for them there...I'll plug eve on their chat board thing in exchange!! anyway so met Chrissy and Rick and wanted you guys to know they were singing your praises. They and I hit it off - Chrissy and I are practically the same age and we all love so many similar people musically - and have you, tia and Lisa o'kane in common so kinda funny how these things happen! Anyway, again for anyone not familiar look them up on my space or on mightyquinnmanagement.com there is a link to their site. Another shamless plug but Eve knows how talented they are and how beautiful a voice Chrissy has. Now - how awesome if we could see all 4 of you together!!!!!! anyway guys again just wanted you to know you'd been mentioned by them and Tia. Hugs Hellie xoxoxox |

Just thought I'd check in, say hi see how all are doing? I'm still jet lagged after an amaziong week in Dallas TX - I think TX may be my favourite state - despite KLM/ NW shredding my lugggage on the way out. EVerything was either wrecked, lost of filthy - gutted. KLM aere gonna wish they'd nerver touched my case by time I finished! I'll send photos to show you for a laugh - it's kinda funny now - you know how it reaches that point? Sadly my Eve tank top was one that went missing - can you point me as to how to replace it if indeed there are any black - medium ones left........maybe you could email and let me know... We went out to Fort Worth which was magic, Austin - way betgter fri than the sun we were there last time and wanna go back when music on now - and to Shrfeveport LA - worth it just for outlet mall, view of river and to taste real cajun food!!! Not much else to report really... just hate being back in blighty - so please give the usa my love and tell it I'll see it soon. Speaking of, when can we expect to see you guys in 08? Give each other a hug for me and make sure Henry gets a big UK cuddle.....;=) LOve, Helen xoxoxo PS marc d you know, it's taken 6 months but I fina;;ly clicked as to the reelvance of the comment you wrote in the poster, which is on my bedroom door! You wrote 'At Helen's cheers marc, then eve wrote love Eve' I was like 'at helen's???' all this time, then twigged above that it says 'appearing' hahahaahah how dim am I???!!!! |

Do you remember I met you, Marc, and Jim at the Basement in Chelmsford on the last night of your tour in England on Sunday 18th February. What a great night that was. I will always remember the genuine concern you showed regarding the death of my brother, and the dedication of your last song to me as a tribute to him is a memory that will live with me forever.I am really looking forward to hearing your new album when it is finished and released, especially that song. Give my regards to Marc and Jim, and I hope that it will not be to long before you all grace these shores again. Love from Colin xx

I started listening to Eve Selis back in the old mp3.com days when we created our stations and the artists would be ranked (and paid!) based on the number of plays. Eve was always on my playlists and I still love her music. Would love it if she played at the Wintergrass festival here in Tacoma someday... Tacoma needs you! |

Thanks for the message and update.I thought this had gone down as messages weren't showing up.... Short confinement - you're not kidding - she's a feisty one!!! I'm glad she and little Henry are well (what happened to him being Ethan, pray tell) Well, life has been very up and down here - more downs than ups recently - but you know thet's where the gift of great music really finds its place in our lives I believe. It connects and brings us through the other side. Please thank Eve for reminding me that sunmmer is coming and every day is a 'beautiful day' whatever else might be going on - and the stones as always are a big comfort! Anyway, take care, love and hugs to Eve and Henry. Much love across the big pond (though music definitely makes it smaller!) Helen xoxoxo |

Next thing I know I`m at the Sage with my wife to see you all again - I`ve NEVER been motivated to see anyone twice on the same tour - and I don`t like Country music.
I `ve just got back from Mexico and Arizona where I bought a black `72 re-issue Telecaster with a heap of twang in it! What is going on? | Comments: | You just know that you have been treated to something very special when it’s still playing in your ears the following day.
That last night of Eve’s 3 week UK Tour, which culminated at the Basement Club in Chelmsford on Sunday evening, was that special night. An audience, for some of whom a first time, were captivated by the aura of Eve and the dazzling guitar work, and musicianship of Marc and Jim, her ‘Men in Black’. Make no mistake Eve’s ability to connect with the audience, far more than stage presence, which she has in abundance, and her stunning vocals make her more than a match for many of her higher profile contempories. Gathered round the performers, the audience were privileged to be part of a performance, which surpasses what’s achievable at larger less intimate venues. Liken it to playing in your front room, for you, your friends and anyone who shares the same passion in live music. The rapport and the approachability make it special. There was something for all, from inviting the excellent Society back to play alongside, the special requests, and the personal dedication of the brilliant last number to Colin. When a performance elevates those watching onto that higher level you can’t help but wonder – surely it does not get any better. With these guys, the answer is invariably ‘Yes’, next time. Everyone hopes it won’t be too long before a new project is completed (like the live acoustic) and Eve and Marc, Jim and the hopefully the band are again touring the UK. We love Eve and wish her well over the coming months. |

I can't believe how powerful your voice was in the live setting - blown away by it. A big thanks to the boys in the band as well. Those guys really can play up a storm with two acoustic guitars. The Brits awards are on tonight and the three of you have more talent than all tonights ward winners could ever dream of. Good luck with the baby and hope to see you soon. |
