My son and I got him down to 9 a day and he was a complete Asshole. I have noticed lately that he is getting meaner verbally towards my son and I. We have gone through a lot in the past year. We have lost our home, My job, My husbans business. to name a few things. Could this be part of the Methadone making him an Asshole? or could it just be all the stress lately. Maybe a combination of both. I feel my marriage is in jepordy at this point. | |

I just wanted to say as a grateful member of this fellowship having gotten clean in 1986, I have seen many things change over the years. I have seen issues come up, get resolved and come up again. I have seen self centered service and service-oriented recovery served with malice. I have also seen the beauty of the flow of God's love when we serve selflessly and with gratitude. I have known peace when I serve like that. Like my sponsor says, sometimes we go through life putting in our little motor boats unaware of the ripples we are making in other peoples' lives. Today, I believe I have found that awareness, not that I am perfect at it, just that I make a concerted effort to not hurt anyone. And, those who are quick to judge are the next ones in the same bucket. Those who forget are doomed to repeat. God Bless. I live in Carson City, but my heart and my recovery lives in Reno. | Comments or suggestions: I wa just doing a trawl of all conventions to see if I could find myself at yours of some other one over the next while. I am addict and I am just little over 18 years clean now one day at a time. I have going to meetings for 23 years this fall so this program does work. Normally I make myself so busy as to not to notice events that are happening worldwide, reducing my life down to the size of a postage stamp as run about my daily chores. I just finish my law exams and am filled with a sense of relief which may not fade. I have served in most positions in NA and have just completed my service as Secretary the Irish Region which I was privileged to serve on.
I just wish you all the best with you convention. I have worked on Convention in the past and it is a difficult task. There is the honeymoon period and there is the hard slog of just getting it together. I am miles and miles away but I do know what that is like. Know that convention are so uplifting and rewarding that the gift you are giving well be well received. It is the power that keeps on giving and makes our journey much more rewarding if we know that we are not alone. |

As the architect for www.mcfna.org, I've done my best to do the same thing, as too often NA sites are poorly designed, improperly thought out, and carelessly developed. While I understand that most recovering addicts don't have the talent, skills, knowledge or understanding of how to create a high quality web site, our fellowship needs more conscious effort when providing such a vital resource for recovery, adn the Sierra Sage site is a shining example of best efforts in this regard. |
