Hi - What a really cool website you've put together here. I'm impressed.
It's a bit different from my homepage listing of luxury resorts that are featuring free weekend stays and other travel promotion discount offers.
Have a nice day!

So i'm having a very post-modern moment right now. We are chatting real-time on-line. I am writing in your dreambook. We are setting up our blog together. I'm reading your website.

Communication is getting complicated, isn't it?

You have gone to get water, so I will take a moment to say thank you for opening up cyberspace for me with your wonderful website. I only hope mine will be half as good as yours.

Hi Tish, I haven't been in touch in a while so now's the time. I see more folks signing in, and checking out your stuff. It will spread to many over time. I heard this joke in a movie, which I don't remember the name of, but thought I'd share it in your dreambook. Here goes....How do you make God laugh?.......Make a plan! I guess I had one of those days today that unfortunatly had God in stitches. Now that it is the end of the day, I can even laugh a bit too. Miss you and love you. Til next time, Mark D.

Hi Tish! I love reading your pages. I started with November and now I am back to August. Do you still have the mouse...er...ah...mice? Hope not. I am thinking about how a perfect meal in warm surroundings can mend the soul.
Been doing a lot of that lately eating and soul mending both. Did you enjoy the rain last week? Love, Denise

Tish,

It's so great to see so many people responding to your dreambook. I love the quote regarding writting '...sit down at the typewriter and open a vein', that explains alot, forgive me but, it's hard to even sign in here after reading all the other clever things that have been written or quoted I am at a loss of words, oh, I do have a few left:
I love you,
Rebecca

Hi Tish,

Thanks for signing my guestbook, I guess I should sign yours as well. :) I agree completely with you about that awful movie--I haven't seen it, and don't intend to, but everything I've seen about it, including a preview, was so offensive that I can't imagine how a movie like that gets made . . . Ah well.

Later,

Willa

Tish - Your webpage is wonderful & welcoming. Thank you for the invitation to come in, sit down, and share. Great links too. The refrigerator is my favorite. How did these cold metallic boxes become such a canvas? Here are two of my all time favorite lines - from Wallace Stevens' poem The Well Dressed Man With A Beard

After the final no there comes a yes
And on that yes the future world depends.

Am looking forward to visiting again.

Ok, now that I'm checking your site so often, I feel ready to sign in. This website is a reflection of a rich and wonderful mind...thank you for providing it as a touchstone. I'm including my favorite quote about writing, and it seems especially appropos in light of the issues we are all struggling with today:

There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at the typewriter and open a vein. (--Red Smith)

Hi Tish,
Well, I'm finally getting around to taking a look at your site and signing your guest book. Your website is as comfy and inviting as your home.

Tony & I had a great time in SF, and I'm so glad I got to meet such a sweet, insightful person (that's you!) I have had a lot of work to catch up on since returning home, but I promise to send you an email. In the meantime, I'd like to leave a "calling card." Here is one of my favorite poems (sorry if it takes a lot of space in your book!)

"Fueled" by Marcie Hans

Fueled by a million man-made wings of fire--
the rocket tore a tunnel through the sky--
and everybody cheered.

Fueled only by a thought from God--
the seedling urged its way
through the thicknesses of black,
and as it peirced the heavy ceiling of the soil
and launched itself up into outer space--
no one even clapped.

Tish!

What a great web site! I LUV what you've done with the place! I like the refridgerator door, the little bits and pieces of things you've found. It's that accumulation-of-meaning-fragment-by-fragment thing.

Great poem of yours, too! Why aren't you in *my* class?

Here's my favorite haiku by Issa translated by Robert Haas for your refridgerator:

In this world
we walk on the roof of hell
gazing at flowers

Hi Tish, I must have not done something right last night, perhaps I didn't "sign" the book. That's all I can think of. I was saying, however, what a great site you've got going. One would need a lot of time to fully check it all out. I was impressed at how quickly you got me linked. I still don't know much about this new fangled device, other than a few things that I can do so far. Last night I had written all these thoughts, and impressions on things I was checking out. It's hard to recreate the feelings I was responding to. One was about the descriptivness of Fitzgeralds' writing. For some reason, I was moved by the example of the water running down your arm from the hose. It touched a memmory, or something. I too, was moved by your "Rage". A lot of emotion and true feelings being let out for others to think about. I also hope that someone will surprise me by getting in touch with me through the link you put up. I love to get in touch with folks that I've lost contact with out of the blue, and surprise them. I do get very sentimental. I also bring you a hello from Jay Forrest. I had him on gigs two days in a row, and with Dean there and all, you came into the conversation, of coarse, and he said he did some work with you back when, probably a Fat Shadow configuration of some sort. It's great seeing the links to Steve C., and Sonny L., and the others from a ways back in time to check in on. I'll be taking time along the way to check the site in more detail. A quick hello to the "D" man of San Fran. Imiss you Dean, but I know you're gonna have a great time. It's only just beginning. We'll be in touch, and much love from me to you Tish. Til later, MD

Hello Tishla:
Across the decades and many miles we still seem to stay in touch and how good that is - you have been many things to me in my life, good friend, wise soul, advisor, nanny, fellow conspirator, musician, and pen-pal! Our lives take different roads, but it is a comfort to know you are still walking, thinking, writing and expressing the uniqueness that is you. There are many kinds of love we discover in life and my love for you will exist beyond time in its own way...perhaps if only on the pages of this dreambook. You have touched the lives of many and will be immortal in the memories I carry as well as those of my children. You are one of the best alive!

love, Tom

Hey Tish, I thought you said I was the only one who reads your page. What is up with that Ms. Woman? Next thing I'm gonna be walking past Modern Times and there in the front window, big as life, will be your book on display...always the first to wonder and the last to know.

Love your page, and you're right: your picture is way cute! I'm daily more excited about being with this great group we've joined by being in the writing program. I had no idea how quickly I would come to care about and feel linked to some of my classmates. The new network radiates. Like Abeer, I love that poem, and I hope you wrote it.

Tish dear, you rock. Of course, this is nothing new, but I suppose you still like hearing it now and again. Thank you for inviting me to check out your highly groovy site. I am feeling like the writing program has solved for me the Allen paradox (Woody, not Ginsberg.) I have found a club that will have me as a member and that is full of remarkable people. Yay!

Hey Tish!
Not too sure what to do here. How about a poem from Karl's book? He gave me a copy for you but I keep forgetting to send it. Maybe Dean can bring it when he comes. Love you, Karen

if i live long enough

you can point to it
I'll tell you what happened

this was a good one

it takes the breath out of you
