Comments:Hi Mike,

Great Gig at the Ent Shed on Friday 18th. Apologies for my 9 year old son yawning rather loudly just before your encore. It did get quite a laugh from the appreciative audience though.
He was too tired to notice on the night, but was suitably embarrassed when I told him the next day.

Thanks again for a wonderfully entertaining evening.

Awra best
Scott.

Comments:Hallo Mike!
I first saw you perform in Holland at the "Lantaern" folkcafé in Zevenaar. That was in November 3003. Before your performance you gave a special workshop in the afternoon. That's when I spoke to you, as a fellow Englishman, in english, only to feel a fool after I realised you spoke Dutch!
Your talent on the guitar and your fantastic voice inspired me, and after buying your CD "Heartland" I managed to work out a couple of your songs on the guitar.
This weekend I play with a friend in the "Lantaern" (open podium for anyone who dares to try) and I shall be singing two of your numbers with a friend: Not a Matter of Pride and Fragile Peace. Hope you don't mind, we will certainly mention you and advise the audience not to miss your next visit there!
Thanks for the explanation about open tuning (DAGDAD). Haven't got the hang of that yet, will take a few years of practice.....but I'm patient!
Great performance, once again, thanks a lot. See you next time round in Holland!
Groeten uit Arnhem,
Dave Sherriff.

Comments:Hi Mike

I attended the gig at 'The Shed' in Bedford last night (29th October'03) and had a really fantastic evening. The music and songs were brilliant, and the one you wrote for your daughter even made me cry (being a Mum of 2 now very grown up daughters myself, it was hard not to relate)

Having scanned through a couple of websites today, I discovered that you have performed a couple of times at The Camridge Folk Festival. As a regular CFF festival attendee,I can't believe I missed you - both times!! Rest assured, you will be on the top of my 'watch' list next time you are playing there.

Thanks once again for a very entertaining evening (thought the story about the Bear & The Still was excellent!)

Best Wishes

Comments:Hi! I saw Mike Silver in concert at the Union Chapel, Islington on Wednesday (22nd October). I just thought I'd say how fantastic I thought it was- the sound was incredibly clear and the performance most satisfying. The key thing I noticed was how Mike's vocals and guitar were absolutely true to the album- during 'Angel in deep Shadow' I could almost hear the harmony above the melody line in my head! This proves that there are still fantastic artists out there who can get by without piles of technology to correct their imperfections! It was a great night and a stunning performance, and I send my congratulations to all who made it possible!

Best Wishes,

Ive read through most of the comments on your web page and it is frustrating the music industry are so hooked on boy/girl bands and making big money from innocents its about time some REAL talant shone through.

'Its a Matter of Pride' is the first song of yours I've heard -you try explaining why you're blubbering at traffik lights- I am Impressed, what words, what melody. I intend listening to some of your previous work.

Comments:Hi Mike! Heard 'Matter of Pride' on the radio in my car a few weeks ago, but never caught who the genius was. Then last week, my stereo came on to wake me, and I rose from sleep to hear your beautiful song. There was a pause, almost moving, as the track finished, and then Terry Wogan said "that's such a sweet song,' with complete sincerity. Around the same time two mornings after, this happened again, this time with Terry saying "Such a lovely song.' When I heard your name I checked up on the web to find out how popular your new album is, then heard the track the following morning again played by Richard Allen, standing in whilst Wogan is on holiday! This has encouraged me to shoot to HMV and get a copy and also sign my congratulations here. I think this song has struck me spectacularly and I wish to thank you in advance for the undoubtedly incredible work that is on your new album. Well done and best wishes,
Adam Morris.

Comments:i was watching GMTV when i heard this guy playing,i was moved with the beautiful song he was playing. i went straight on the internet to see what i could find out about mike silver who i'd never heard of. i read that his latest album, was being released that day, i went straight out and bought it, i love prog rock bands, my favourite is band is dream theater,i like marillion, early rush, yes, floyd, zeppelin etc, but was completely blown away buy his voice and guitar sound. i play the guitar and like to listen to anyone's music with guitar work in it.
i gave solid silver one listen and was in total awe of his song writing, melodies and orchestration of songs.
i have not heard any of his back catologue, but if solid silver is anything to go by, i'll certainly check them out.
good to see a guy like mike, who has put a lot into the music industry through the years, finally get the recognition he deserves.
i hope to catch him at one of his scottish dates this year

Comments:Mike- I'm so happy about your new project. Can't wait to get a copy somehow. I saw a few titles on your more recent albums that just slammed me back to the times we were hanging out & gigging together. On that note (F#) I have a request:
My sis just wrote to me asking for the lyrics to "Peter's Spiritual". I looked everywhere I could and couldn't find any of my "live" bootlegs from your gigs or anything written down anywhere, so I'm wondering if you could direct me to a digital location where I could get that for her. If you don't have it archived in "cyberland", would you be willing to send them to me by email. She quoted several of the lines to me, but she only remembers fragments, as do I. It was a neat song that we all enjoyed a lot, but you've always had a consistant output of those! Thanks so much and continued success to you. Best wishes always- JJ
Check out my web address if you have a moment. I'm busier than ever, much like I imagine you are, working on several projects. My daughter is now stationed in Holland with the Air Force. Are you headed that way at all, so I can let her know?

Will fone Faymus to buy the album, please deliver fast as I need to hear more quality music soon before my head explodes from absorbing so much manufactured, bubblegum, E number laden, artificial music.

Enjoyed the set at Porky's last time round and spoke to Fiona at the Poynton Festival - she is out of hospital now and looking well. She said how much she enjoyed working on the album and I must say how much I have enjoyed listening to it.
Hope you can find time for a Song Book project soon for us less talented sods to have a go at.

your "The Applicant" LP for the first time. I just got it
from an internetdealer somewhere in England. LUCKY ME!!!
Funny cover. To be honest, I was a bit surprised when I
read that it is a folk opera with just 2 sides and no real
songtitles. My english is not that good so I have to listen
to the record a few times more to understand the message
better.
Has there been a lyric-sheet originally been included?
Your guitarplaying is very good, your voice a bit to far in
the background, in my opinion.
I think this is a very brave debut album!!!
Keep on rolling.

This group won a Surrey Beat Group contest in 1964 which
enabled them to record this very rare four track EP. The
stand-out track on this was the slow bluesy number Let Me
Show You How, which came with fuzzy guitar and garage-style
vocals. The remaining cuts comprised a brief instrumental
Guillotine and a couple of pleasant but mundane beat
ballads, You're The One and Don't Say That Word.

The 3 1/2 hour procedure was suggested by my doctors to repair a worsening
heart condition called Mitro Valve Prolapse. Luckily, we have some of the
best cardiac surgeons in the world at the Heart Hospital of Austin, and they
were able to repair the valve rather than replace it using a
recently-developed technique.
Previously the only solution would have been an artificial valve and I'd have
been required to use dangerous, expensive blood thinners for the rest of my
life..

Even though I didn't show any of the obvious symptoms of this condition, 30 %
percent of my blood was flowing in the wrong direction with each hearbteat,
and it was getting harder and harder to get through that fourth hour of
nightclub performing and those grueling concerts.

Luckily, the pre-op procedure showed my arteries and cardiac blood vessels to
be in excellent condition without any signs of heart disease, and my blood
pressure has stabilized. Everyone tells me I'm going to have a lot more
energy now, and I'm now looking forward to those extended international tours
and all-night writing recording sessions.

We've been performing a CD's-worth of original tunes for enthusiastic
audiences for over a year now and hope go into the studio for our next
project this summer. There's been great response from the previous Lightning
Red CDs and we've connected with new group of marketing/distribution and
management folks just recently. The award
-winning site is about to undergo a major upgrade and ya'll can always go
there to find where we're performing, recent articles/reviews, and the latest
news.

The San Antonio Blues Society is hosting an all-day benefit concert for me on
June 25th at the original Billie Blues location, and I've truly been
overwhelmed by the amount of support and concern that's pouring in from all
over the world. One never knows how their music is touching people until
something like this comes along.

Bestblues to you all,
RED

Comments:Watching you play at the Cross Keys Inn (Uppermill) in
March 2000 was an inspiration. As an aspiring musician, I
fully appreciated the quality of the songs you played that
night plus what I've heard so far on Heartland.
You have a special gift that evokes emotion at all levels
through your music. Wonderful stuff !!

PS. I have to say that sitting next to Ruth from Risky
Business that night was a lovely experience as she sang her
harmonies throughout the evening to your songs.
