Brandon Johnston [e] I did an internship as a teaching assistant in NYC during the summer of 2001. Each Wednesday night we would meet at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School on Amsterdam and 65th. While waiting for our meetings we would watch the men of Engine 40, Ladder 35 wash the trucks or head off to calls. It was not until just a few months ago that I heard (on The Discovery Channel's "New York Firefighters" documentary) that the members had been lost.
