When I saw the names of their children, I saw Miguel's name mentioned, so out of curiosity I thought I'd look up info on Miguel. I've seen Miguel on TV being interviewed once about his friend Dominque Dunne who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. I've also seen him before in Point of No Return with Bridget Fonda. I never knew he was George Clooney's cousin or that he was the son of Rosemary Clooney, and that George Clooney was the nephew of Rosemary Clooney. That's why George and Miguel are in show business I imagine because Rosemary was in the business. I also remembered seeing Rosemary Clooney doing TV commercials for paper towels a long time ago. It was literally his very first role! I didn't know it at the time. It was an episode of Magnum P.I. in February, 1981. Miguel was only 26 years old. The episode was called, 'Less We Forget'. Here is the storyline and the remarkable significance of that particular episode: Magnum is hired by a Supreme Court nominee (Jose Ferrer) to find the woman (June Lockhart) he married forty years ago, in 1941, on the eve of the raid on Pearl Harbour. He was a young Navy Ensign, she was a prostitute, and after their marriage they subsequently became separated in the bombings, with the Judge presuming her dead - until recently, after he has started receiving blackmail threats relating to an incident forty years ago... In an intriguing piece of casting, both June Lockhart and Jose Ferrer, who were both stars of the black & white "golden age" of movies, play characters in the present day, and their actor off-spring - June's daughter Anne Lockhart, and Jose's son Miguel Ferrer, play the same characters in 1941. Guest stars: June Lockhart (Diane Westmore Pauley (1981); Anne Lockhart (Diane Westmore (1941); Miguel Ferrer (Bobby Wickes (1941); Jose Ferrer (Judge Robert Caine (1981). When I saw the episode, I had NOT seen the credits, although I certainly recognized June Lockhart and Jose Ferrer. The resemblance between June and Anne Lockhart was NOT obvious so I never suspected they were related. However, as a TRUE Miguel fan, you KNOW how much he resembles his father and yes, it was VERY evident!! I was mesmerized even though I had no proof they were related (yet)! I felt like I was watching Jose through a time machine. It was uncanny how well Miguel captured the essence of his father's presence in addition to the obvious physical similarities. I knew right then and there that I was watching an actor who was exciting and magnetic. I wish you could have seen this episode. If I saw it again today, I might realize that his talent has evolved a great deal since then but this was really magic! Sorry this has gone on so long.
