Hi, I just came from a site with your name and was directed to another Wicca site, and managed to get here. Anyway, the article written by you, I'm presuming it's yours (Please correct me if I'm mistaken), is on St. Patrick and Ireland. Referencing the last few sentences at the bottom, regarding St. Patrick bringing Christianity to Ireland, and killing thousands in the process, just thought I'd share some info with you, from the viewpoint of a Christian. Fact: Patrick was enslaved and put aboard a ship in his youth. The ship traveled near the coastline of Ireland where it wrecked in a storm and he was able to survive and washed onto the shore. He was then captured by the Irish inhabitants, who then made him their slave. He lived among them, and learned their language and culture, and learned to love them. When the opportunity came, he was given his freedom, and traveled back to his homeland, where he swore to return to the people he respected and loved. He became a Chrisitan AFTER returning home. Then, he returned to Ireland, ALONE, to convert the Irish to Christianity, built the first Christian religious house of worship there, and becan to convert. The "snakes" you refer to were not the Irish, biologists believe there were never any snakes in Ireland, so the part about him removing the snakes was purely a myth that grew around him, generated by the Irish in reference to his life of devotion to the Irish people. The Britains didn't come and invade Ireland and massacre them until they had started in on the Scots. So, if you want to reference things that denegrate Christianity, or ANY religion for that matter, there is plenty to find out there about ANY of them, depending on whatever viewpoint you are promoting. Personally, I'd prefer the truth, even if it isn't always nice. Realizing that a lot of evil was done in the name of Christianity, it isn't Christ or any particular religion that makes it evil, it's what man does to it and with it that causes the evil. Many ugly things were done in the name of Wicca and witchcraft that make it seem evil as well. The door swings both ways, so if you want an open mind from others regarding Wicca, it would be great to come to one of your sites and find the same in practice. Thanks, Brenda | |

I love your site and I'm so glad you are updating it as I read almost all of it in the past few months(Not the ghost parts, too creepy for me- I'm chicken). I didn't realize that most of the mood swings I have were caused externally until I tried the grounding and shielding exercise. I found immediate relief. Can't thank you enough. I keep coming back and rereading to find more.
After reading the reproductive choice section I was wondering if you had considered suggesting addoption. I chose to have one child but when I felt the need for the second I opted to adopt internationally. These children really need a home and I didn't add to the population but still get to have 2 children. I understand it is a more expensive option but for those who are able it is wonderful. Thank you so much for such a wonderful site, It has helped so much. Its great to finally know when the feelings I have come from me. I've learned to question if spurts of tiredness or anxiety when out now. I had no idea. | |

hi i just wanted to say what a help you have been. i am still young anough to be guided by my mum, and for christmas she gave me a book for the teenage witch. i've just finished it and wanted more (thurst for knowledge is high at the moment). so i turned to the internet. i typed in magick and meditation and i found this website. my mum doesn't belive in using tools and so is teaching me visualisation. but i am feeling that i have no power at all. my mum says that every woman in our family is a witch and we all come into special gifts in our 20's. i know this is suposed to be congratulating you on the website but i cant exactly write into shout and say 'im a witch! help me!' can i? any advise? good job on the website, very cool, and i like those meditation pages. and especially that thing your daughter found with the mirror. it sounds cool. but i cant do it can i? if you have time, could you or anyone reading this email me with advise. thank you. :D | |

I am sincerely concerned for the souls of your believers. I have a close friend that is a wiccan right now and is having questions about what is really true. Basically what it comes down to is, Wicca is Satanic in relation and Christianity is of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and there is only one true way! Thank you for a wonderful site, rich in information. I am new to the Pagan path (well I believe I have been on it a very long time I just didn't know it). I first found it because I was having a difficult time knowing what to do with Jesus ( a crisis of faith). He was for a long time who I identified as God. No longer believing that he is indeed God but not able to deny his influence on my life I found your insights validated what I was feeling. I am indeed a Pantheist, who believes that the Divine inhabits all that lives. Therefore the Divine must inhabit Jesus and that was the way the Divine connected with me for a long time. I have been drawn to nature all my life and found my spirituality enhanced and in tune when I was in nature(ie..woods, seashore, viewing rainbows and sunrises etc.). The idea of a Goddess intrigued me. I must admit it is still somewhat foreign to me. I am hoping she will find me in a significant way if I am patient and wait. I believe in a femine Divine or at least an aspect of the Divine that is femine. I have joined a Pagan Circle at my UU church but we only meet once a month. Your site has been a rich resource for me. Nice looking website. One comment. I have been doing this work for some time and I strongly suggest that you unbind your ex-husband. Don't wonder anymore, he is in that state because of your binding and if you wish to clear the karma between you, i suggest that whatever it takes to undo it, do it. This is no judgement on you, but when you bind someone, you bind yoursel. Your intention was ultimately for self-preservation, not the appropriate intent. As you said, we should not go into guilt but learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately, you have not yet undone what you did and THIS IS NOT GOOD. {Good advice. In fact, I *did* undo the binding. I love you site. About the garter snakes, I noticed that it was a male and female and they are getting ready to hibernate about that time. The male was the smaller one. I'm no specailist but I am breeding snakes. But I will defintely be dropping by often. {I've since learned that gartner snakes mate in the fall, so that is the likely explanation. Wonderful site! I have been an eclectic wiccan for a long time and always like to read about other people's slant on things. I especially liked the prayers, especially the dark moon one. I made a copy for my own book of shadows, giving you credit, of course. So many pagans spend too much attention on spells and what they can get and not enough on prayer, connection with Divinity and creating their own spiritual tradition and listening to their own inner voice. I was reading your section on Christian/Pagan conflict... and I remembered a website that I read:

To stop expounding on each others' 'evils' and find our common ground of love and creativity. I also really liked your article about Dragons. I went through that stage of draconity myself, but as I have matured spiritually the Dragon has become no less of a powerful and spiritual symbol for me, that I identify with, but I see no reason to indulge in delusions of 'I'm not human'... because I very, very much am. I was searching for information about dragons and found this site. I was impressed with the information plus I noticed you had an article about Christians and Pagan. Eyes wide open and had to read. I'm a Christain myself, but very open to all practices and religions. You posted a very interesting attitude towards the Chirstians, which is so true. We are open to our practices and ideas, and thumbs down towards pagans and wiccans. Actions towards the human being because of such practices should be an example of compassion(for example Jesus)rather than judging upon the unknown. Your site is wonderful and gives me hope. I was wondering if you could do me a favor. My beloved cat who is definitely (unlike my other cat) my familiar went missing about a year ago. I have tried everything I can to find him and I feel he is alive. I have tried in meditation to find him and even go out of myself to look. I think I'm too close to this and that is why things aren't moving. Do you think you could help me with some advice, a quick working, perhaps you might run into him on one of your journeys? A friend of mine is a third generation Shaman from Equador. He says he is certain that he is alive and has seen him in a vision. Your site is truly inspirational! I am from the old school. I learn from life, people and Books. I have been married to the same man (not pagan) for 31 years. I have been studying Pagan Ways for the past 10 years. There is an adequate core of Wiccans and Pagans where I live. Now I feel that the practice of Ritual is what I need to do, on my own. I can't use a very busy work and family life as an obstacle, anymore. So, I seek peace and quiet (I'm older, now....) and your site offeres me my new direction. Yes, we are all connected. And, no matter how long we've lived or how much we've accomplished, we need to connect and learn more. Since I LOVE books, I want to recommend to everyone Kala Trobe's THE WITCHES' GUIDE TO LIFE. She's a lot younger than I am, but I feel I'm with an older soul. Even if I have only 15 minutes, I relish the time spent reading Kala's book. I stumbled upon this site (and immediately book marked it) while looking for a simple ritual to greet the morning sun. I have a casual friend who was with a coven, The Golden Dawn, in San Francisco who mentioned the ritual in passing. Now, lots of the stuff she talks about scare the warts right off my nose and the black off my cat, but this particular ritual sounded wonderful. I am from a family of women with a slightly "off" history, you know, knowing who is on the phone before it rings, calling a loved one and asking "What's Wrong!???" in the middle of the night BEFORE Saying hello, sometimes seeing the face of a dead loved one and on and on.
This site is amazing. I have been solitary for almost 35 years, (yep, I am OLD) and rarely find something so well written that it draws me back. This site will draw me back over and over. Thank you so much for the massive effort it must take to do what you do, so very well. And if you ever find a spell that will make me look like Alyssa Milano...I volunteer to test it. Grin. DN | |
