| Comments: | Hi, hope you can help. I run a 1996/7 Falcon XR6, but here in sunny south africa, the ford agents dont know too much about the Aussie Falcons. Can I import spares from Aussie, for instance the hydraulic lifters are a problem, along with some other odds and sods.

great site - I used to drive an EL Ford Falcon 4.0 when I lived in Australia. I'm back in Europe for some time now and thinking about buying a car that gives at least a bit of the Falcon feeling that I still miss!!! I doubt anything will come close.. | Comments: | Jock, you will be pleasantly surprised with the Falcon. Our Sapphire has gone 6yrs without any major problems. It is not a refined car, when you compare it to German or Japanese, but it is reliable Aussie transport.
On the EL, you should look out for rusty door hinges/joints(which is normal on any car), leaks in the radiator(though rare). As long as you dont push the car hard continuously, you should have no problems. |

| Comments: | although i haven't had as many cars - been driving for 30 years and owned only six cars, - have had a 61 or 62 beetle, 69 (ht) and (hz) 78 kingswoods (holdens noticeably absent - about time you tried one!), an 82 sigma, a 91 magna, and today just purchased a 1998 Falcon Sapphire(my first Ford - any clues about owning one would be welcome).
