It is two days before Christmas and I am thinking of you and missing you so very much! I am wondering if Santa comes to heaven or if there is a great big party to celebrate Jesus' birthday. Whatever you do I know you are not alone, but we feel so alone without you. You are such a big part of us and I never knew I was capable of loving someone as much as I do you. Your stocking is hung with a few little suprises in it, I just wish you were here to take them out and open your gifts instead of me. I try to look at each birthday and holiday as one more milestone of being closer to you. As each new year comes around I know that I am one more year closer to being with you forever. I am getting ready to clean your angel cabinet and add some new ones we have bought for you. I have been thinking a lot about the day you went to heaven and how daddy an I were not there after you had gone. I know we were both in shock since you were perfectly healthy one minute and the next you were so ill. I still find it so hard to believe that your destiny was determined by a dr. and his lack of knowledge and care. I am so sorry that this has happened to you, why you???? The leaves here are starting turn the beautiful colors of fall. They turn some of my favorite colors. I am sitting in my office at work and out the front window there is a tree that I watch season after season change and grow. It is the first one in that yard that starts to change. When it starts to change it is a gentle reminder that the time of year when you came and changed all of our lives. I would look out at it and wonder about you. Wondering how you would looked...the color of your hair and would you have looked more like Mommie or Daddy. More like Alex or little Reese. Maybe it is a little silly but I always turn to look out at that tree when I have a lot on my mind. When I look at it I realize that even when bad things happen to us life goes on and you have to hope that tomorrow will be a better day. I have known other people who have lost a baby due to miscarriage or SIDS and have always thought that it was terrible, but never had the depth of appreciation I have now for the enormity of the tragedy.
