I ride my other horse alot During the summer and winter. my favorirte gait is the Gallop my horse and my sisters horse were racing up a hill as fast as racehorses with us (I never ride with a saddle)When all the sudden my horse thought she was Seabuicut when she looked my sisters horse in the eye there was no way she was going to lose that feild race she shot past my sisters horse and won that race by four leangths!!! When we are galloping through our woods I tuck the reins under my legs and hold my arms up in the air. I did not lie about any thing!!!!!! I am sereouis. hope we become good web friends!! |

| Comments: | Hi Brianna, You have a great page and I enjoyed reading it very much. I also had a pony when I was your age. When I was 4 years old, my father saw a sale ad in the Sunday paper for a horse . He did not even tell my mother about the ad but took us for a Sunday ride--to the next county. The horse was owned by a family which had had him almost all his life, but the youngest daughter was going to college in the fall. He was a 10-year old Florida cow pony, an all brown gelding and just under 14 hands. His name was Bullet because he was "fast as a bullet" but was called Bully. The horse, saddle & blanket, bridle, halter & rope all together cost $50. That was a lot of money at that time and times were hard in Florida then, but it was a fair price. We took him home right then. My mother drove the car slowly and my dear Daddy walked beside me on Bully all the way home. I do not how far it was, but it took us hours in the August heat of Florida. We had to cross a bridge over a river going to the Gulf of Mexico. It was a metal grate bridge which could be raised for tall boats. The bridgekeeper yelled at us to get the horse off the concrete walkway and onto the grate. My father was worried that the horse, who was a country boy that had never been shoed, would be afraid to walk on it when he heard the noise his hooves made or that the edge of a hoof might catch in a grate opening and he would stumble. He could not convince the man to allow us to use the concrete walk. Bully showed right there that he was a great horse--with my father holding him close and talking to him soothingly, he walked across that noisy metal grate as if he were used to it. I am a grandmother now but in my mind I can see that bridgehouse on my right and my Daddy on my left at Bully's head as we crossed that bridge. When you are my age, I am sure you will have lots of wonderful pictures in your "head" with all the rescues and adventures you and your parents have. |
