Pip Kicker here. I recently dicovered an oily green bag in my hardware box and I wasn't sure what it was. I thought it was my grandads old kit bag, but it contained drum sticks. Then I noticed a magpies keyring also within. Do I have your drummers stickbag? If so I'll bring it along tomorrow for the Windmill showdown, ala Don Quixote!

Hi all... met Martin in Nottingham recently and was fortunate to get a copy of the album, I was listening to it yesterday as I was putting on me make up and was pleasantly suprised and even impressed by the album..... the soulful vocals reminded me of someone I'd heard before, but couldn't put me finger on.Will probably come to me at 3 o'clock one morning, and when it does I'll come back and say who.
All in all a stunning, chilled and mellow offering from the Chemistry Experiment, and I look forward very much to hearing more from them.

Hello. Fancy coming up to [censored] and doing some kind of 'gig'? It's getting like post-rock and stadium rock are kinda the same thing - it's all 'spotlight on my delay pedal please - get your cock out' kinda thing.

I've got a band, we're celibate Marxist EQ-purists, and we'd like to play a gig with like-minded. I can provide young boys who dance and balance beer bottles on heads (if necessary). I am currently being chided because of my failure to enter the Daily Record "Big Break" talent contest, therefore allowing Kasino safe passage to the climactic stages.

Can I buy your record?

I like The Streets.

is it worth it? having just looked at the web-site photos of the junktion 7 gig where i broke new ground by postponing my first pint until 1a.m. and playing completely stone-cold sober fot the first time since i was about 15, i am horrified that there appear to be only FOUR members of the chemistry experiment. perhaps i wasn't there. perhaps i got too involved warching t.v. at home and the experience of playing a gig where we were asked for not one but two encores was merely the result of staying sober too long. i could always check my story with the taxi company who took me to J7' unless there is somebody who can verify that i was there.

I have been to every record shop in Sydney and cannot find a single copy of Round the corner dutch zebra. I suggest you speak with your distributors. Not that I'd be able to listen to it, not having a record player n'all, but the artwork looks nice and I could get it out and hold it and look at it once in a while like I do with all the other records I've bought out here. Today I bought a sound effects record which not only has the sound of Sputnik communicating but also a whole minute of a girl in the shower. I was listening to it in the shop but got all hot and bothered so I had to cool off to the sound of Maori war chants. Hope the new Prosco angle's going well.

Hello, I like your website. I could never access it from my machine in Nottingham but now that I am millions of miles away I can see it just fine. Technology moves in mysterious ways. (As do seahorses. And God.)

The best thing about your website is the Road Movie. You all look lovely.

The best thing about Sydney is Queen Victoria's talking dog. Closely followed by all the skywriting. Skywriting is cool. I could watch them skywrite all day. It's probably a good thing that they never write anything interesting or important because if they did I would probably never want to leave here and also my neck might be broken.

I'm not coming home until March, so I hope you're holding back a copy of Corner the Round Dutch Zebra for me. I'm a bit of a Chemical Experiment completist, you know, and I'm a bit worried coz they must be selling like Rock! cakes.

Enjoy playing my old house this Saturday or whenever,

on Thursday, May 16th 2002 - 02:15:15 PM, vicki in awe of steve who was right about umami visited this page and signed the guestbook in order to say....

The conventional wisdom, repeated in many textbooks, is that there are four primary tastes: salty, sour, sweet and bitter. Complex flavors are generally supposed to arise from a combination of these primary tastes, with the more subtle effects arising from olfaction.

There is a fifth taste, however, which is much less widely recognized. This is 'umami', better known in the west as monsodium glutamate (MSG). Umami was first identified as a taste in 1908 by Kikunae Ikeda of the Tokyo Imperial University. Ikeda, having been struck by the distinctive flavor of seaweed broth, isolated the molecule responsible for the flavor and showed that it was glutamate. Although taste researchers have known about Ikeda's work for decades, it is only recently that umami has gradually gained wider public recognition, probably because of the increasing popularity of Asian food.

Emily, is your mother able to actually drink from three cups at the same time, or does she drink them sequentially? Or even a sip at a time, each cup in turn? Whichever method she utilises, I fear that the total amount of caffeine is too much to imbibe in such a short time. Unless it's very weak tea...

Anyway, my main point - there's rumours of a gig featuring both the Periment and Sodastream in London. When are you going to put details on the site? Eh?

In answer to Carnarvon Blake's question of a couple of months back - it depends how soon afterwards you're likely to boil the kettle again. If that second lonely cup of tea is going to be made within half an hour or so, much of the heat will still be retained, and the kettle will even have worked more efficiently the first time it boiled due to the relative heat-loss properties of small and large bodies.

However (and you knew in your heart that there would be a "however", didn't you?) if the water will be cold again by the time you reboil it, then throwing away the electricity is more wasteful than throwing away the water (most of which will eventually be recycled). It's also worse for the environment.

I hope this quenches your knowledge thirst, and look forward to investigating future queries...

Howdy pardners, that was a BLOODY GRATE gig last night, i really really really enjoyed it. Also i spoke to an AMERICAN afterwards, aren't American's BRILLIANT? Anyway, i wanted to let you know that i had a STRANGE DREAM last night in which The Chemistry Experiment were managed by an over enthusiastic business consortium, many of whom had those round the mouth "muff beards" and very nice suits, and they were in talks with all sorts of important people to get you FAMOUS. It was really quite exciting. It WAS a dream, wasn't it?

it's nice to see real people signing the guestbook. for once. celebrity patronage is all well and good, but it's the common man that matters. keep the faith.

If you accidentally overfill the electric kettle when you are alone and only want one cup of coffee, is it less wasteful of resources to pour water down the sink or to make the kettle heat all the water?

I am often alone when the kettle is boiling.
