Roland's good friend Cuthbert sort of got the short end of the stick. I could easily understand his frustration with Roland and even though his involvement with Susan was wonderful, if he had not gotten involved, what then? Bert is such a great character, I wished we could learn more about his life beyond the time in Mejis. Rhea, on the other hand, was such an important and hateful character and Roland in his fever really missed clues about her evil nature. It was amazing that Roland could sense the threat from the big coffin hunters but didn't see it in Rhea until it was too late. Perhaps, because he loved his mother so much, he could not understand how nasty and evil a woman could be. And I really got angry with Roland when he was willing to leave Susan even knowing that she was pregnant with his child and thinks she will be okay.
This is such a great Series. I listen to the CD's and recommend them to anyone who has a long drive to work. | |
