My friend and I are huge fans of "Modern Girls" and especially your tunes in the movie. Though we have tried everywhere we have been unable to find "Angels In The Night" available to purchase. It is the only tune from the movie that my friend is missing...do you know of any way I could get it, so that I can surprise her?

I re-live the clubs and dancing to your music. I'm 42 now and I still listen to your songs. They bring great memories. I saw you live front and center at a club many years ago. You are very pretty and highly talented! I want to buy tickets to see you again at the Bank United Center Sept 13, 2008. See you there! Maribel

Dear Ms. Joli,
I have recently discovered your beautiful music, much of which was released before I was born I must admit! However, your music is so meaningful, it really touches me. Is there any chance that Witch of Love and Attitude will ever see release on CD? I'm sure this would make many, many people happy. I hope one day you will release another new album. All the best, Steven

I love that your site is hear. I was a club DJ back when you got your start. What an exciting time. The Heart to Break the Heart has always been my favorite song of yours. I would love to hear that you are working on something new or maybe a remix project. You have an amazing voice. You should be heard. Donna Summer chose now to come out with her first album in 17 years. How about you too. That would be awesome.

Last night I went to Apple martini bar at coconut groove, it was the best experience in my life, I've known you since 1978 from New Jersey, I was only 18 yrs old, at that time I was depressed but listening to your songs really inspired me 100%. For the first I was overwhelmed with your proformance and I managed to hold your hands for a second and sing along. I really admire you and your beautiful and spiritual voice you have really made my day. I wish the very best to you and God Bless You. Once again thank you so much for a wonderful proformance and also for showing up. love, EH

Dear France,
I had the opportunity of seeing you recently as you performed at a benefit gala in New York. Your music brought back such wonderful memories for me. "Heart to Break the Heart" was my cousin Richard's favorite song. Richard, who was my best friend, died from complications of AIDs 12 years ago. I cried through the whole song as you sang it so beautifully. I know he was dancing up in heaven listening to you sing! Thank you for bringing back those wonderful memories of simpler times when dancing the night away until the break of day was what we lived for!

Glad I came across your website. Love your songs. But, my main reason for writing here is to ask if you have a copy of the song "Angels In The Night" in your archives? It was used in the movie "Modern Girls" back in 1986. I can't find this tune anywhere and would love to put it into my personal extended soundtrack for the movie I am working on. Over the past few months, I have been privileged to receive select hard-to-find tunes from various music artists for free after I e-mailed them, but if you desire a small fee for the song, I do not mind. I really hope you have this rare tune of yours available. Thanks for getting back to me.

I just want to say thanks for all the good memories growing up to your music in Miami Florida. Still to this day when I pop the C.D. into my stereo driving wherever I get the chills af all the times they played your music at the clubs especially at this club called 1235 back in the 80's on South Beach. Even until this day when I go to a party I request your music. I just wanted to say thank you. I even had them play your music at my Wedding. Come to Me was dedicated to my wife prior to us getting married so I had to play it when we finally did get married.
I wish there was a way to find out how to book you for my party coming up this year. If so please let me know. I would love to see you in person again. P.S. There was even one time that you was performing on stage in Miami back in the 90's and you allowed me to get on stage and dance with you. That was one of my dreams come true. Thanks again for making me smile with momories

Finally we landed a gig at a Dance Club in Queens and Come To Me, Heart to Break the Heart and Gonna Get Over You were on the play list for many years. What an amazing voice she has I wish she would record some more music.

I grew up in Montreal in the late 70's. Walking back to my apartment from McGill University I used to hear your voice echo on DeMaisoneuve Blvd. as long lines waited until 6 AM to get into Gatsby's or Studio 56 or Disco 1234.
Montrealers think of you as the local girl that made it big. Two decades later I now live in California. Disco has made a comeback on the club scene and once again I hear your voice. You were always in style and you are once again. My wife and I now dance Ballroom and we consider dancing the Hustle to your songs especially sweet. The people back home in Montreal still think of you often. Your songs and you voice still echo from Place Ville Marie to Place Bonaventure, from Victoria Square to the Atwater Station, from the Trans Canada to the 2 and 20. You keep on singing and we'll keep on dancing!

Seriously.. "Don't think twice" is, in my opinion, one of the best songs of the 80s! And WHYY is it completely impossible to find on a CD?? I watched "Thrashing" a couple of days ago to get a nostalgic feeling.. then this song was played and i just fell in LOOOOVE! I googled it and found out that it was also played in the 80s movie "Modern Girls".. but of course it was'nt included in the soundtrack there either. Where can i find this song?

I met you in the early 90's when you performed at the L.I. Exchange on Long Island. I was the Director of Promotions there and was your "handler". Much success in all you do, and thanks for the music! Jeff

Wow, i absolutely love this site. France Joli is for one a great great great singer whose career should have skyrocketed to the ranks of Madonna and Donna Summer. I mean, i have an EP of the first four singles and they are amazing. None the less, i still love the song Girl in the 80's from Attitude. Its one of my favorite Hi-NRG songs of the...well, 80's. Kudos to madam France for the wonderful work and I really hope for a return to the dance floor. And by the way, I love how your work is available on this website (except for the dance mix of Girl in the 80's which appears to be missing from the directory :( ), that's something I never ever see on any artist's websites and the fact that they are of CD quality is quite something to rave about as well. Long Live France Joli!

Glad I found this site! You've been my girl since the 70's--rock on, France! Its hard for those young ones today to understand how mega adored u were with "Come To Me" for sure! The romance you brought to me and many others who sexily, slowly sought our special dance partner as we moved toward the dance floor....meeting just as the strings pulled us close from across the room, meeting just on note in time to begin the dance........BUT beyond that, your take on "Standing in the Shadows of Love", with the original Pips no less! Best rendition ever! Kinky psychosexual before Madonna with "Inside My Mind", and damn! "Walking Into A Heartache"?!?!? Fantastic kick ass rock. And then, and then.. "Witch of Love"....the lp that should have sent you over the edge....Taylor Dayne's "In the Darkness" doesn't hold a candle to your version, done and done! Girl, somehow "Love Will Always Find A Way" and "What About Me" and "Attitude" (the song NOT the lp) well, not a clinker on the entire album. Why these albums are not on CD is bullshit! Dear Miss Joli:
I have been as "Disco/Club DJ" since 1973, and am very proud to still be 'doing what I love to do, to this day!'. I see that your are coming to Houston in the very near future, but unfortunatly, I can not make it to see you (and all the other wonderful "Disco Artists" you are preforming with. I actually had the pleasure of meeting you back in either '89 or '90 when you preformed at "theCopa" in Key West. I have your (along with my other 'club divas favorites' "autographs", either hanging on my walls or in my scrap books. Yours, however is also featured among my favorites, of all time, on my 'little' web site, under 'autographs'. I am so glad you are still making music with your beautiful voice. My favorites from you are (of course) "Come to Me" and "Heart To Break The Heart". (but actually, all your "Prelude" 12"/LP's cuts)! Again, I am so sad I am not going to make it to see you while you are in Houston. Much Love to you always, One of your biggest fans!! DJ, Doug Barnes Club: "JR's" - Houston, Texas

I discovered the fabulous record "Gonna get over you" from France Joli via Diva Radio (http://divaradio.net) playing 80's funk. The song has a beatiful atmosphere of perfect funky disco (thanks to the nice bass by W. Anderson mr Crown Heigts Affair and Unlimited Touch)and brings back memories. However the funny thing is I never heard of this song when it was issued (1981) so how it can bring memories? My compliments for France Joli, she has a great voice and her record is of the same high level as e.g Change (Maurio Malavasi. JF Petrus etc) or Kleeer.

Recently, I was discussing with friends of the power that certain styles of music has over time; the 50's with rock'roll, the 60's with rock, the 70's with disco, the 80's with dance music & new wave, etc...
For me the 70's and 80's were the most fabulous years, with DISCO & DANCE MUSIC. Being from Montreal, I was lucky to be able to go to the best clubs around; the LIMELIGHT, Studio 54, the 1234 but to name a few. And I proud we were of our Canadian Disco Artists that would make it to the top of the charts of Billboard Magazine; Gino Soccio, Claudja Barry, Geraldine Hunt, Freddies James and our own Diva, France Joli. Beautiful, extremely talented and a true 'spirited soul', France made me dream and dance with her wonderful songs. I am delighted to see that she is pursuing her singing career and I would really like to see (and hear) her in a 'Disco Riveval' right here in Montreal... Thank You France for all that you've given us and contributed to Disco. And keep it up ;-) !!! Love & Light, Gino Montreal

I want to thank you first of all for taking the time to come out to L.A. First at the City of Industry party and also at the Disco Diva DVD taping at the Avalon. I went to both events and had a blast. I hope you remember me, I was the one that gave you all the "LOVE" at the city of industry event. Actually, you were the one that invited me to the Avalon event. France, I must agree with your other fans, you are a wonderful soul. It is so special how much you care for your fans. At both events you took the time to sign autographs, take pictures, etc... In my eyes you are truly "The Disco Diva with a Heart". You are so loved by your fans.I heard so many positive comments regarding your performances and how nice you actually are. All your fans are waiting for another album (CD). I spoke to your husband and I understand there may be something in the works. Believe me,I will be the first to buy any future single or full cd you may record. God bless you and may you keep on entertaining us for a very very long time. Your devoted fan, Eric Hernandez

Hi,
Ken, a blind friend of mine, wanted to post a message here to France, but he is unable to because of certain types of website technology that require him to view and copy a graphic for security reasons. So, I agreed to post his message for him. It is below. Thanks, Steve The graphic verification used by email clients and others, including this guest book, is not text. It's actually a picture of text and a screen reader which is the speech program blind people use who can't see the graphic -- only the instructions. To read about this issue, consult the November 2003 issue of the Braille monitor, and to read our resolution on the topic from last year's convention the August/September issue last year2005. Call the federation at 410-659-9314 and take the tech answer line when prompted, and of course if France wants more information she can email me with questions. Thank you. Ken I pledge to participate actively in the efforts of the national federation of the blind. To achieve equality, opportunity, and security for the blind. To support the policies and programs of the federation, and abide by its constitution.

I was 12 years old when "Come To Me" was played on the radio. Is one if my lifetime songs.
And along with come to me 2 years later appeared "Gonna Get Over You" That was so hard to find in Christmas 1981. Just like to find a needle on haystack that 12'' Single. On that time I was 14 years old. France Joli is still my favorite singer. THE GREAT DISCO DIVA from the '70s and '80s. I really love her singing voice. Especially when I play my lifetime songs.

Just caught Frnace Joli at an outdoor bbq/concert here on Staten Island, I also saw her recently at the St. George There, also on Staten Island. To this day, that wonderfully talented woman is still as humble and just so down to earth as she was back in 1978 when I first saw her live. It was a thrill so once again see and hear that wonderful God Given Talent!!!!

Bonjour,

Great site and great music. Just wondering...I've always looked for your song "Don't Think Twice" from the Thrashin' movie in the 80s. I know the song was never released. Any chance of putting it out on a rarities collection or as a download on your site?
