| Comments: | I just bought a few MATW cds on ebay....my cassettes have long since died and I wanted to hear those songs again. I must admit that my faith has changed and I'm not sure what I would consider myself anymore, but your music really inspired me and it has stood the test of time. The songs were fantastic in EVERY aspect...PRODUCTION, LYRICS, HOOKS & PLAYING!!! You guys had it down! My favorite albums are Seasons of love and Boomerang, but I haven't listened to some of the later stuff and I should. I am a musician myself and MATW goes down as a major musical influence in my life...as big of an influence as anybody. Thanks for the timeless music that still rocks to this day1! |

| Comments: | I grew up with your music through high school and you became my favorite band (OK, tied with Tourniquet). Loved your sound from the first album...until you released "The Dreamland Cafe" (What was that all about?). Not the greatest album to end on but oh well. (I don't really count "World History" as your last album since it was a compilation of older stuff). All my CDs were stolen in the late 90's so I'm slowing replacing all the better stuff (like MATW of course). I have replaced 3 so far. Would love to hear some new stuff though! :-) I think it's cruel that you guys make us choose a favorite album. How are we suppose to do that?! lol. You guys are one of the greatest Christian bands of all time. |

| Comments: | The first time I heard MATW was in late 1980s... the original CD was awesome! I purchased all the others and enjoyed them thouroughlly and each time a new one came out - I had to get it! I was hoping for a new one... Then 20 some odd years later... getting ready for praise group rehersal at our church I was playing one of your songs on my iPod and one of the teenagers (our elec guitar player) came in and was singing the words to your song for he heard it through my headphones and said MATW was one of his favorite groups... music that spans generations! Perhaps a new CD is due ;-) |

| Comments: | I think it was 1987 when I first saw Mad At The World by mistake. My friend and I were at Knott's Berry Farm on New Years Eve. We went there to see Bloodgood, Idle Cure and Darrell Mansfield. We realized that we had just missed the Idle Cure consert and noticed a few people on an outdoor stage near the Train Station and the ever famous Log Ride. I thought that they were roadies setting up for the next Band when it was actually Randy, his brother and I think there was only one other guy. I hear sampled drums going off with all kinds of cool samples blasting from the PA system. My friend Shellie and I were awe struck when then band started their set with Mad At The World. I was floored and Iwas hooked! We stood up against the stage for the entire show. The very next week I picked up the bands first album.
Randy's song writting ability is beyond his years. He is very clever in sending the Message to a Christ needy world. Keep rocking for the lost, Ronson |

We don't consider it synth-pop. It was like a mixture of Elektro,New Wave, fark-wave, and metal. You would gain a lot of record sales if that stuff was released today. Any-who i'm promoting you all on my page at My Space if that's okay..Hope you are doing great. Love Vyqxen~ |

I'm sorry to say not much Christian rock today has the testicles MATW had (pardon the expression if you're reading, ladies). The boldness of the Gospel made plain with true rock and roll to back it up.
I long again for the day when Christians really rock harder than the world with a message powerful enough to save the soul. I hope I'm a part of that some day myself. You can check me out at www.reverbnation.com. Search for Alan Sessler. Thanks for being online guys. I just did a random google search for the heck of it and you totally made my day! My favorite concert ever?... Mad At The World at Calvery Chapel (the Red Barn) in San Bernardino, CA... 1987ish? (Wow, 20 years ago!) One of the only Christian bands at the time (maybe ever) who were not afraid to sing about a wide array of topics... not just God... but also personal relationships, etc. I thought that was so awesome. So... when are you "gettin' the band back together"? I wish. -Kevin Schumm (Redlands, CA) |

| Comments: | Dear Roger,
The former love of my life... I found two CD's of yours in a used CD store here in Dallas two weeks ago. I hadn't thought of MATW in years, though you've crossed my mind often. I had no idea you had so many Cd's. Way to go! Of course I am sure you can guess I didn't like the wall of gutiar sound. It was so good to hear the stuff from the first album, which I had long since lost. My husband very reluctantly gave you a huge compliment which I am sure you have heard before. He thought you sounded like Danny Elfman. Gaush what a compliment! I only ever got compared to the B-52's! I was suprised to see a spot for MATW on line. And to find out your brother was so close to me....WOW. I would love to hear from you but don't expect it. 20 years is such a long time isn't it! I think you sound like a lot of people when you sing, and yes even my favorite Martin Fry, mostly you sound like you! |

| Comments: | Hey Roger,
Ive been a huge fan since I got saved in 1993. A friend got me into Boomerang and Seasons Of love, but it definately took me a while to like the earlier and later stuff but i totally get what you were about. Your music and lyrics have encouraged me for many years. Just a couple days ago I listened to all of your albums at work(yeah, thats pretty cool huh) and I couldnt believe just how much the lyrics spoke to me and convicted me and encouraged me. Ive always been into heavier music like thrash and heavy metal but I love your last 2 albums alot, in fact those albums helped me to branch out and appreciate alot different styles of christian music, now I listen to just about everything(except for rap, uugh!!). Not surprisingly, my fave MATW albums are Thru The Forest and Boomerang, also Seasons and I really like Flowers alot too. Like you said in the interview on this site, if you never make another record, you can be assured that your music and love for God and his people have touched many lives. I am a huge fan of MATW and I always try to turn people on to your music, and as you can probably relate, I usually have to explain alot about what youre about and explain alot of the songs as sometimes they arent so cut-and-dry, ya know. Anyhooo, thank you for the years of ministry to God's people and the wonderful music you made. Thats one thing nobody will ever take away is the music that we can enjoy anytime, anyday. You rock!! Life Sanctuary. I was in a car accident in August of 2000. It was my two children and I. We were seriously injured, facing death. (I (27 yrs.old) broke every bone in my face, losing my left eye. My daughter (6 yrs.old) had a broken femur and head injury has well causing her brain to swell and fill with blood. My son (4 yrs.old) only suffered with a seatbelt bruise across his chest.) The Lord brought us out of the life threatening tragedy. It was a very, long recovery, even after the forty-five days we spent in the hospital. We were not able to attend church for quite some time. A friend of mine took it upon herself to write a bunch of letters to various artists, asking for their help. They had a songfest for my family and then the church presented us with a large basket filled with cd’s, tapes, videos and books. This was a wonderful thing and it helped us with our recovery. It helped us to keep in touch with God’s Word. The Lord spoke to me one day and told me that it was time to give back. He gave me the idea of a library ministry for the not so fortunate. I want to start a library in our church, where people can check out different cd’s, videos and books. (Most cannot afford to buy theses items because of all the poverty. I am asking if you would like to be a part of my ministry, and send a donation of your cd, tape, videos or books. It would be much appreciated and would help to get the word out to others that do not know the Lord. I know what a wonderful gift this was to me and my family, so please help me return the gift. Please email me and let me know if I can depend on your donation. Thank you Joni Beavers Liberty Life Sanctuary c/o Joni Beavers P.O. Box 187 Latham, Ohio 45646 |

Growing up through school you guys gifted to the masses & me something to be enjoyed; nice enough to be proud of, & loved enough to give my friends a listen while cursing on friday nights. It caught on like wildfire & helped encourage others to vear away from ideas of tampering with drugs for a few. I've grown up since then, & MY OH MY - how things had a good way of changing all for the better. My life is full with the Lord, my wife & of course my two children. | Comments: | Mad At The World is one of the finest Christian Music Groups
in modern Christian Music. In The Late/1980's and Early 1990's they were the alternative of what was popular and over-rated in the Christian Market. A lot of people compared there 1'st two albums to new-romantic and new wave goth-pop acts such as Depeche Mode, Dead Or Alive, Bauhaus, Visage, & Siouxsie & The Banshees. In my opinion at that time period, "Mad At The World" had captured more of an inspiring and original sounds than these groups. I listened to all of these bands, so i knew that what would be to come in Mad At The World's future would definitely be something wise & very well crafted. They managed to go mainstream in the Christian market without going overboard. They took the secular world's idea of death rock, and blended a dash of mainstream to appeal to a more 90's genre. Whatever they have done, they have done it right. They are one of my favourite bands of all time ! Not bad for a Christian group, heh ? ! |

| Comments: | Hi! Funny that I should post now, as Hurricane Rita is about to pound the gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana. I was thinking about my friends from my teenage years who lived in Galveston and how we turned them on to MATW in the late 80's. We would drive around listening to MATW, wearing our cool MATW T-shirts. I guess that's what led me to this site.
Roger and Randy, I met you years ago at the Eye of the Needle in Dallas (Deep Ellum). Do you remember the Kraft family? Well, we're alive and kickin'! I live in Knoxville now and my husband has a music venue here. My brother lives here, but the family is spread out in from Albuquerque to Tennessee. I can't tell you how much our family loved (still loves!) your music. It means a lot to us. Being a very nostalgic family, we feel that you were a big part of our family history - practically family. I think I can say that for all of us. I want to thank you guys for doing what you did. To us, it was great rock and a personal testament. Hope you guys are doing well! Just let me know if you ever want a place to stay in Knoxville. What a pleasure that would be! Peace, Rachel |

| Comments: | Thank you a million, MATW. I first heard of your music on a Frontline Classics Volume One CD. The songs "Why" & No Mistakes" were features on it. I remember thinking how "quirky" & "weird" the whole song sounded (being more of a 70's rock fan). But the more I listened & the more "mad I got at the world," the more it grabbed me & the message as well (forget the superficial, ambiguious lyrical content of the late 80's & 90's CCM scene, except for a few real gem artists!). Years later, a local radio station played "I've Got A Heaven". Simple, but beautiful & once again, a clear message with a little Freddy Mercury style. Then, "World History." I almost got rid of the Cd because of some struggles I was having with rock music & idolatry. BUT, as I listened, I felt I could pick out some of the lyrics on songs I hadn't heard before & they were solid messages. "This Lie" "That Lonesome Road" "Back To You" all hit me right where the Holy Spirit wanted to at that moment. I wish I had all the lyrics to all your stuff. And I'm SO GLAD to have found this site. THANK YOU MATW for obeying GOD, helping CHristians see themselves as Psalms 139 people, & coming against the "taboo" issues. Hey, if MTV & everybody else can scream out lies & form the mindset
of our kids, then the Church had better get in there & play hardball too! PS. I need more albums; I only have World History, Mad At The World, Seasons Of Love, & Boomerang. |

| Comments: | I thought I signed this before but can't see my entry so I'll do it again. But MATW is one of a very small handful of Christian bands that, during their era, rivaled and even went above and beyond their so-called secular peers. When I listen to the first album, even now in 2005, it sounds awesome and I think to myself "no other Christian band was doing that in 1987(?)". Innovative and no other Christian artists, with the exception of The Altar Boys and Mortal had such an intricate ear for melody as did MATW (in my opinion)...and lyrics that were always insightful and poignant.
I remember when I was a bit younger--weren't we all--and I was in my parents minivan and we were going someplace and the local Christian station wedged MATW's 'Dry Your Tears' in between Amy Grant and Bob Bennett (or some such thing) and as soon as i heard it, there was no looking back. I'm saying that 'Flowers..." is my favorite CD (though I have it on tape) because of the song "Wait". I love them all but that song speaks volumes to me every time I hear it and the drums on that....whooooa nelly....good stuff. Thank you, MATW for your diligence. I saw you at 2 Cornerstones and a couple times when I lived in CA and I was never ever disappointed. God bless you, Jim |

In any case, I cherish my copies of your first two releases. Roger, how about teaming up with that other 80's "New Wave" musical genius--Terry Scott Taylor? You two are rare gems whose work should have easily crossed over into mainstream airplay, but then, you know how the world is (always trying to surpress the truth). It's enought to make a guy MAD AT THE WORLD! Lord be with you. |

| Comments: | MATW was my absolute favorite band through my Jr. High and HS years, but my tapes got ruined, so I went without for many years. I was fortunate enough to come upon some of the re-release CDs a couple years ago, but wasn't aware there were more than four albums. Today, I was working and the song "Lovelight in the Midnight" was stuck in my head -- that song always jammed! So, I decided to google MATW, and this sight was the first result. Great job! I didn't know about Randy's Mothership work. I've GOT TO GET THOSE CDs! Amazon, half, and KGM records don't seem to have them. Anyone know if/where they're available? Email me, plz. The sound was unlike any Christian band before or since and I enjoyed the fact that the songs were sang with an English accent (Too many people form England sing with American accents). It sounded so rich and so clear. I continued to buy your albums, just as someone said earlier, each one was like a new gift;something I really looked forward to. You are one of the biggest influences of my musical life. Unfortunately, Boomerang was the last album I managed to hear; the rest didn't appear to have got any coverage in Britain. | Comments: | Back in 1990-1991, I was searching for bands from the Christian scene that were musically unique. I happened to be in the car of a friend from my youth group and he was blasting a song called "Dancing On Your Grave." At that point, I knew I had found that something unique. It wasn't long before I picked up my first MATW album, Seasons of Love, which apparently had only recently been released. I remember liking the first few songs but not caring much for the 2nd half. I then moved on to Flowers and the self titled. Boomerang came out in the summer of 1991 I remember. All of these records were HUGE records for me in my junior and senior year of high school (1990-1992). Through the Forest came out in the summer of 1992 and I wasn't blown away, but at that point I was pretty submersed in the Seattle craze. MATW reeled me back in with The Ferris Wheel in the summer of 1993. Ferris Wheel surely remains my favorite album to date. At that point I realized I could expect an MATW album every summer. Wrong. Dreamland Cafe didn't come out until Feb 1995. While I thought Dreamland was a good disc, I thought it was step down from Ferris Wheel. I miss these guys. I never got to see them live. You gotta give them props for how well they shifted between various musical styles in a convincing way - even with Roger's fake cockney accent on the earlier records. :) If only there were a more powerful marketing machine behind them than Frontline (did they even have a marketing machine?) |

So I just wanted to say hi, and hi Randy and Roger!!!! I miss you guys A LOT! Love you. SOOOOoooo, see ya later people and keep the website rockin' at a steady beat. Peace out..... |

| Comments: | Listener since 1988; had all albums on CD and then "donated" them to a friend in the mid 1990's for his collection (he had a Christian DJ Service and didn't have all the CD's). Recently obtained a copy of KMG Classic Archives copy of Flowers in the Rain (personal favorite) and Boomerang (second favorite).

| Comments: | Hello all! I just wanted to say thank you for your music... I remember seeing you guys live, in 1987-88, at Calvary Chapel in Downey, CA. You made me feel like it was okay for me to be me, different, yet loved by Christ. I still listen to your first album to this day, and Flowers in the Rain, as well. I am listening right now, in fact! You are still a part of my memories to this day. Thank you for touching my heart...God Bless You All! |

| Comments: | A dear friend of mine gave me a MATW tape when we were in high school. Words can not express how much that tape helped us get through the rough times.
Now, years later, I have been searching for a copy of the cassette(since the original was stollen). Finally I found one, and let me tell you, I can not wait until it gets here in the mail. I can already feel the deep rooted pull of my heart that comes from listening to these songs. Thank you for the amazing music you having given to this world. Michele |

| Comments: | I am so glad that you all are still together. The same is true for other bands such as X-Sinner & Barren Cross. Even if you are still together in a somewhat "limited" way that's better than not at all. Roger & Randy your music has and continues to bless my wife and I. We're so grateful for brothers like you all who write and play christian rock that is not so typically "watered down" music and isn't perpetually "hand-cuffed" by concerns of sounding too much like secular music, etc. Larry Martin, Austin, TX |

| Comments: | Hello from Russia!
Even there reached the sounds of MATW. I've had a record of some christian band for 6 years without knowing even their name (you know, the lack of information of cultural achievements, especially in christian area, is very likely for our region), but the music resonated with my soul, like the musicians had the same emotions as me, like it was my own music. I eagerly wanted to know who they were. I supposed that the album must was named Seasons Of Love and tried to find something about it over the internet but without any result. And only two hours ago it happend! I found this site. And now I'm asking your help. Please, anyone, could you send the lyrics of Seasons Of Love album on my E-mail. I and all of the brotherhood of the Far East of Russia would be grateful then. |

| Comments: | What can I say? Tears welled up as I read through the many comments listed here. This band has meant more to me than any other in the course of history. I miss them sorely and its nice to know I'm not alone (maybe there should be some kind of support group for those of us that suffer from withdrawals). Other than Rich Mullins, there aren't any other songwriters that have challenged me like this. MATW was never a "sell-out" band, but innovators who were ahead of their time and pointed the way for other people to follow both musically and spiritually. I am probably one of the few people who still listen to them even though my religious beliefs have changed over the years. I remember writing letters to Randy and being amazed that he answered back on notebook paper torn from a spiral every time. I remember their last concert in Dallas and staying for hours afterward and talking with them until the wee hours of the morning. Their lyrics still challenge me and encourage me. If anyone knows if the PO BOX in the cover is still good, please let me know...I was supposed to mail something to Roger from that Dallas concert. All the CDs are great in their own way but if I had to choose just one, it would have to be |

| Comments: | I first came across MATW in '88 and was completely moved. I listened to the music & it reached inside me deeply through the pit of my stomach & deep into my soul. I had chills running up and down my spine as the music grabbed me. It was a heartfelt grab. The kind that goes to the inner core. The music sounded secular. Infact I would have never thought it was any different, until the lyrics jumped off the page at me. The messages were strong and yet clear. I literally had chills running up and down my body as I turned the volume the highest it could go & danced around. Its truly amazing when you realize the talent God gives us christians and when its used for him it goes above and beyond anything in this world. Truly nothing compares to a truly talented christian no matter the style. Use it!I would compare MATW in an alternative style just as powerful as third day, although totally different style of music. I have no idea what happened to the band, or if they are still together. I hope they continue to grow and share. I love their music & miss it. I have to repurchase their albums, were lost when I move and I miss hearing the music. |

| Comments: | MATW is an awesomely talented band. I feel fortunate that a very good friend introduced me to them when I was in high school. Their styles were so infectious that it was the one christian group that finally turned me away from worldly music. Their music and lyrics then molded and shaped alot of my decisions and kept me out of trouble. I don't know if I would be were I am today if it wasn't for their strong stances on being a moral and godly individual. They will forever be a favorite of mine. |

| Comments: | Got hooked on MATW after hearing Seasons Of Love. I have purchased all their CDs and only wish for something new. So sad to see they're on "indefinite hiatus". I haven't checked out any of Randy's excursions but Mothership looks interesting. MATW provided so much passion and creativity which I find to be greatly lacking in "Christian" music. Please consider returning to the studio. I know there are many fans who long to hear from you. Thanks for the blessing you've been to my life. |
