| Comments: | Hi. I almost feel ashamed to introduce myself - like a Reggie Perin character back from the dead - but I am the owner of the Hillman Imp Pick Up (which you have a small entry on in the Imp Site) and better late than never I am introducing myself. I have looked after the pick up for the last 20 odd years but now am ready to detail its rebuild on my Blog started tonight. |

| Comments: | Hi,
I enjoy reading the information contained on your site..........even to the extent of placing a link to it on my homepage (www.formula5000.net) - hope you don't mind? I was closely involved with Hillman Imps during my apprenticeship days with a Rootes Group dealership in Hamilton, NZ. Great work in assembling the data - it must have taken hours and hours of research. Well done. I have made the Hillman Imp my FEATURE CAR for May, the three drivers involved are all characters. Have a look when you get a chance. Regards, Grant Paterson. |

re: Colours. May be worth adding to the relevant section that early Hillman Imps painted Capri Blue had dark blue trim rather than black as in the UK and in the colour charts. Not sure what other colour differences existed from UK cars. I have a capri blue Mk1 with original blue trim and am considering changing it to Black. regards Alastair Cox |

| Comments: | I was a huge fan of the imp in the sixties and seventies Having owned several,I competed in allsorts of competitions in them with very little trouble. They seemed to thrive on abuse,I worked in a Rootes garage at the time and the ones which gave the most trouble where the ones which little old ladies ran about town in.I still remember the smell of a well thrashed one oh happy days. |

| Comments: | I see that you have made no ,ention of Harry Skelton who rallied a team of Imps in 1967. Harry had some ex-works Imps and I navigated one for him on a rally in Wales early in 1967 (Coventry M.C. 'Three Spires Rally).
His team - Team HAS - did the Gulf London International Rally in 1967, the drivers being Harry Skelton/Mike Lindsay-Jones, Barrie (Whizzo) Williams/Tommy Thompson and Pauline Wynn/Venetia Sadler. I did the event in a Cooper 'S' and after retiring with a broken front suspension I ended up servicing for Team HAS rom Yorkshire to the finish. Harry Skelton was a good friend of all at the 'Works'. Another Imp driver you have omitted was the Irish lady, Melanie Fitzgerald-Smith who did the 1969 Scottish in what was possibly an ex-works car, although it had Irish plates. Her navigator was Venetia Sadler who had earlier been a 'Team HAS' co-driver. I hope that this is of interst to you. |

| Comments: | Interesting site: although I came across it about a year ago, I only just decided to "sign" your guestbook.
I owned a Singer Chamois (as you know, a tarted up version of the Imp) in Jamaica from about 1968 to 1970; I still have a Haynes manual for the Imp. I've seen one (an Imp) here in Toronto recently (2007/2008?), but didn't have the chance to see or talk to the owner/driver. |

| Comments: | Hi there folks. I am a reporter for the Paisley Daily Express and I am trying to find some fans of the Hillman Imp. A motor magazine has just claimed that the Hillman Imp - which was made at the Rootes car factory in Linwood - has been named as one of the worst cars of all time.
Anyone out there from Renfrewshire who loves the car, and would like to hit back at this report? Please e-mail me. Many thanks... Cameron |

| Comments: | Guess what!!! I have found a Llama - the Hillman Imp based "special". Looking at your web site it says that you only know of 2? Does anybody have any ideas if I can still get body parts and a new canvas roof? IO would appreciate any info and some idea of the value. It was bought new by the current owner, its sat in a garage for 30 years and he has asked me to help him restore it. Any web site info or if you fancy dropping me an email. |

| Comments: | Found the site sort of by 'trial and error', but very good anyhow. In the Fraser competition part there is a photo of the Tiger and two Imps on the docks at Teneriffe - the Tiger was subsecuently driven by Peter Harper to a win in the '4th GP', I can't remember who drove the Group 5 car, but I drove the 'Rallye' (Group 2?) and had a ball! After I wanted to buy the 'Rallye', but Alan Fraser would have none of it - he wanted me to have the Group 5, and so it was. I ran it in several races in Teneriffe and Gran Canary, and took it to Madrid and ran Jarama, tho DNF'd with a broken half-shaft. My wife took it to Jarama later, but also DNF'd, blown head gasket. Have a few photos if anyone is interested. |

| Comments: | Hi,
My name is Howard McAlpine and I’m a London based professional photographer. I wish to photograph a Mini as part of a personal project for my portfolio and am hoping you may be able to help me source a suitable vehicle. Visually the car needs to be in very tired cosmetic condition and clearly in need of restoration and some love, but still drivable as we need to get it to the shoot location. The car is to be photographed stationary in a central London street location. I am willing to cover all expenses incurred by the cars owner and I will present them with a high quality archival print of the finished image featuring their car at a size of their choice up to A3. Looking forward to hearing from you. | Comments: | My brother owned a 1965 Hillman Imp in about 1972. He never used it, so I "Liberarted" it in about 1973,and used it until about1976 when I sold it to buy a Renault R10 Alconi. Still hold the Imp with great regard, and now in my 50's, would really like to own another. They are, however, extremely rare in South Africa! |
