I was born in Bangor, Maine. I have moved all around,
all my life. Even as far south as Florida. I have just returned from a week long stay im Bangor. I now live in Tennessee, but my heart will always stay in Maine. The
scenic views are like no where else in the world. I hope to
come back soon.

I am so glad that I found your site. I was born and raised in Maine. (Madison) I now live in Florida and travel back at least once a year.

SUGGESTION: In your section where you translate Maine English, have you ever heard this one?

JESUMANCROMANIES (Exclamation similar to Holy Toledo)...used in sentence: "Jesumancromanies it's hot today."
I am sure as I sit and think about it, more will come to mind, but that is one I remember saying and when I moved to Florida 12 years ago, took a lot of slack for repeating.

I was born and raised in Portsmouth, which means that I'm almost a Mainer. However, I'm almost as close to Maine as I am to Mass-hole-chusetts. It goes without saying that I would rather be in Maine any day of the week. I love Maine. I even think that the Shipyard should be called the Kittery Naval Shipyard. See if you find any other native Portsmouth resident (if you can actually FIND one in Portsmouth nowadays) who would say that.

In any case, I'm in Iraq right now. However, I can still smell the sweet salty air of the Piscataqua as I weave in and out and around and out of the way of the "Flatlandahs" going to the outlets on 1A while all I want is some full-bellied fried clams from Bob's Clam Hut.

Keep up the good work.

An outstanding Maine experience was a visit to our friends the Harris'in Camden. We had three days of being escorted in the area including sailing and viewings from a local lighthouse. Not to mention wonderful food both at their home and in local restaurants, enjoying new friends and hospitality in their "newish" home. We've been invitied back and we hope to go. It is a beautiful place, and not nearly as hot and humid as Florida. HA!

I vacationed in Maine four straight summers, but wasn't
able to make it there in 2000 for personal reasons. I hope
I arrange it to spend more time in your wonderful state. I
have crawled through Camden, Freeport and Kittery, which I
affectionately refer to as Maine's parking lots. But it's
well worth it. Can't wait to return.

Maine was my home from 1941 till 1968 when i moved to Pa,
I may have lived here for 31yr's but Maine has and will
alway's be my home in my heart. There lives most of my family
and every June i look forward to our yearly visit. It once
