I would tell anyone asking about a place to go and have alot of fun in your area that they should check out white clay lodge ... thanks for always making it a great time and the helpful hints on where to check for some good fishing action really made our trip ... we will be sure to come back and we had so much fun in your area we have even thought about relocating to be much closer |

| Comments: | Howdy, Nice website. I just wanted to say how much I used to
love fishing on White Clay lake. As a kid, I would be out there every chance I could. No guessin how many hours I spent out there on that water and, depending on the season, ice! I'd like to know how many fish too over the 35 or so odd years. I remember asking my dad nearly every day to take me fishing. It was less than 20 minutes away. So we went often. The routine was always the same. Us kids would load the boat, and he would come soon after with sodas and a treats from the lodge. Usually funyuns. Which admittedly,is an odd thing to connect with that lake, but its forever etched in my memory. Part of the experience. He has always been a fixture of sorts there. They say when the glacier receeded, he came with the lake. A package deal. The ice went away and there he was, loading his boat. Or so goes the legend. In one of your pictures, I can even see his boat pulled up on shore! Boy that brings back memories. Pulling those cattails, bailing water from last nights storms... We really have caught some beauties out there. Saw eagles and ospreys and otters ond northerns as big as your leg. I miss it a lot. I have a cattail here in a vase, from there, on purpose. This very second. It makes me remember things. I have been all over the country. In a lot of pretty neat places. But I always think of White Clay as home. And I am glad that my dad always had time to take me fishin. Say hi to him if you see him. His name is Harry Krysiak. Ask him where they're bitin. He'll steer you right. He says he's going tomorrow. Taking my nephew. Making more memories. I am in Massachusetts, or I'd be there too. In a real lucky way, kinda makes me homesick. I bet I still remember a good spot or two. I bet I do. If I close my eyes, I am there right now. Fishin just off the hump, driftin for monster 'gills! But I'll be back. In my heart I never left. Thanks dad. Go Packers, and good fishin. David |
