Elvira Linazasoro Sunday, January 29th 2006 - 10:09:51 PM chem_bombshell@yahoo.com I'm from Mexico, and I adopted a kitten this past October. Her name is Shady, and believe me, she literally "appeared" into my life just out of the blue, in a moment of loneliness and depression in my life. From day 1, Shady and I made a special bond. She follows me everywhere in my apartment, and when I come back from work, she greets me at the door and lets me scratch her belly. She sleeps with me and makes sure I wake up in the morning licking the tip of my nose. I am sure Shady is a little furry angel who found me and she's making my days brighter and happier. I have a good reason to come back home every night. Please continue with your effort of protecting cats... all animals deserve a place in our heart. Us human beings need to realize that this earth belonged to animal species for ages...we are only guests to them.

Terry Friday, December 13th 2002 - 06:52:41 AM TDeMeo61@aol.com We found Reggie -- white, with orange markings on his head and tail, golden-eyed -- the day after Thanksgiving, crying and huddled against the side of our home. We opened the door for him and he was overjoyed to find us welcoming him inside. I should interject here that up until Reggie I had never owned a cat, never even considered myself a "cat person", and considered cats aloof and unfriendly. Well, sweet, loving, affectionate Reggie changed all that. He made a believer out of me after only wanting to sleep curled up on my lap. He never stopped purring, not even in his sleep! Sadly, keeping him in our lives wasn't meant to be. One of our children is autistic and doesn't understand that he needs to leave animals alone, not chase after them. (I was hoping against hope that Andrew might get the concept, but alas...) After two difficult weeks, we made the decision to place him in another home with a loving family. We were brokenhearted, but we felt we owed it to Reggie as well as to our autistic child to do the best thing for them both. I'll never forget that cat.
