E-mail address: bubby_1@sympatico.ca
Comments:My husband is a descendant of the MacLeod's of Harris of the Isle of Skye, his fathers name was Findlay Donald MacLeod born in Canada, and his grandfather was Findlay MacLeod, not sure of his middle name. I have a picture of Dunvegan Castle on the wall of our apartment. Our son gave us a MacLeod sword for our anniversary. We have been married for forty-one years, I am so drawn into the history of the MacLeod's and Dunvegan Castle. My Dream is to visit the Castle, cause when I look at the Castle and read all the web sites on it I just get a warm feeling inside and I imagine that I am there. Thank you for letting me at least live our dream from home. Keep the articles and pictures coming. Im trying to do a family tree but not having much success. Love your web site, Thanks.

after reading your page again later in the week I noticed that you had made a mistake with the 3rd Duke of Sutherland it was not Ronald but infact George this name was handed down untill George the son of the 3rd Duke died and so the second son Cromarty became the 4th Duke.
I do hope you will correct this mistake.

aj.

Was always told by my grandmother that we were Clan Donald but remember her also saying we were related to "the only woman chief of clan>" Not sure how this fits together. I welcome email from anyone interested in genealogy and Skye.

And thanks for the page about the Bruces which I have duly digested. I think the Latin word FUIMUS translates as "We have been" (as in kings) but I'm no scholar.

Nevertheless I've written some Scottish & English short stories, some of which can be read on my website for free. They're set in the Highlands (I was born in Morayshire and lived for a while in North Sutherland) and also in London.

Thanks for the entertainment of browsing your website!

Comments:Your website is both informative and beautiful. The time I've spent browsing here has been thoroughly enjoyable. Scotland has become fascinating to me as I plod towards my M.S. degree. Currently, I'm developing a curriculum for university students and plan to teach the course this summer. Since I didn't notice anything written about copyright of the narrative and the photos, I'm concerned about reproducing them. I would like to make several of your photos a part of this project. Please write and let me know whether this would be acceptable to you.
In the meantime, have a happy Thanksgiving.
