Anyway, I miss GMD so very much, and feel so sad that I won't get to see them anymore. Their music has ministered to me in ways that I can't even begin to say. I especially like how Geoff uses a theme of comparing salvation with being rescued in a lot of his writing ~ this is something I can STRONGLY identify with having been in a rather destructive lifestyle before my conversion, so I have a real sense of having been literally snatched from the edge. The messages their songs send out are so pure and honest, that they get you in your heart. For example, "The Vow" describes a promise made to God to serve him until the end. "Evolution Redefined" substitutes the old definition of evolution with a new one, the evolution of one's heart because of God. "The In-Betweens" describes that we should remember to live each day with as much love and joy as we can, for "this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it". I could go on forever, but the point is that this group is amazing and God has really used them to touch the hearts of so many, as is demonstrated by this awesome page. |

I live in areas that are not keen on the idea of Christian Rock (i.e., the Bible Belt) so I'm usually unable to listen to radio stations that play CCM or t.v. stations that show such videos. If GMD had not traveled to my hometown back when they did, I may not have ever heard of them. That is a scary thought considering that they are my favorite group. Unfortuately, I have not been able to keep up with news concerning the CCM circles and it was not until I discovered this website that I heard GMD has broken up. What a dose of bad news!
