| Comments: | I adopted two Persian cats about six months ago. I still have very much to learn. Tonka (white male) is 4, and Sadie (gray/silver mix) is 8. I have been feeding them exclusively Iams cat food for hair balls, and have been leaving the food available all day. I have read different opinions on this practice (food available all day). You recommend two meals a day. I have not seen a vet yet, but will be soon. I am going to start feeding them some other food at least half the time. Thank you ever so much for all the information. |

I am a new proud owner of a 3 yr old blue persian called Oska who sadly was about to go to a rescue center, until i offered to give him a home. He has been with me a couple of days now and is quickly finding his feet, and already his little character is showing through! I cant get over how friendly and loving he is and my children love him. Unfortunatly he is in a bit of a mess in the grooming department,i havnt been able to bathe him because of the amount of knots he holds...such a shame..and he isnt smelling very pleasent at the moment!!! But this morning he is booked in at a grooming parlour where,the lady helen, who seems really nice is going to start by getting rid of as many as she can for now..then gently introduce him to water once they have all gone on another day, so as not to upset him too much. Well wish us luck and i will let ya know how we get on.. i will have hime looking purrrfect very soon and i know he is going to be very happy and loved in his new home...bye for now Alison & Oska xxx |

| Comments: | I have a rescued Persian who was abused and is fearful of grooming. I have her calmed enough that I can groom her head and top portion of her body. Thank you for the tips, especially the one about talc. She tangles easily and requires a lot of time. She has bonded to me and I am sure she will eventually be a loving pet. I will follow your suggestion and take her to the vet if I cannot get her eyes to stop having brown discharge. It no longer smells bad, but is still a daily condition. Cherie |
