We have had her for 8 yrs, she was always in the ribbons. Sadly she had an injury in the paddock in Feb. that resulted in her right eye having to be removed at Newmarket. We have no facilities to breed and she is just turned away now - terrible waste of such a good mare. | Comments: | Hi Pauline Have at last managed to re-locate your site (it's as good as ever!), don't know what went wrong. First foal (of nine) born yesterday - nothing but trouble!. To start with, he's a colt!! (I'd really wanted a filly because I'm selling the mare this time - she's by Baledon Firecracker and foal by Weston Cherokee) and then he not only wouldn't suckle, but wouldn't/couldn't swallow either. So it's been a time-consuming nightmare. We might be almost succeeding now but it'll probably take another 24 hours - only hope we don't find he's a "barker" in the end! How about you - any foals? We visited your stud with MRS Martens in 1992. It was our first visit to Wales and to other studs, anyhow. But we enjoyed it, after 1992 we visit Wales once a year. Mostly during RWS, but it is difficult to have appointments at studs during that time. But nevertheless the Royal Wales Show is a real thrill.
