The first 90 seconds of the BCS game were no fun, but after that -- when the guys finally settled down -- it was really fun to watch. I may have lost a friend who is an Ohio State fan, however.
Any word on the 45th reunion?

Here I am, sitting in the state of Alabama, trying to figure out how to handle the idea of the former LSU national champion head coach defecting to the enemy. I had no problem with Nick Saban rejoining the college ranks -- just not the SEC! The red and white half of this state (Auburn's blue and orange comprises the other half) has accepted Saban in the lead role of the second coming. Any thoughts out there?

I am in need for someone to help me, I have been searching for a battery operated table lamp-not the kind like a coleman, one that is good looking inside. If anyone can give me info, I sure would appreciate it. I've searched the net-nothing-at least that I could find.

It's been 30 days around Louisiana. 1st we evactuated to BR and stayed alittle over a week with Linda, then off to Kaplan-a small town 35 miles SW of Lafayette-is Bills Mom's house however she passed away in 2002, but he didn't sell it--thank goodness as we have 4 cats and 2 birds with us. Got ran out due to Rita and nowhere to go but home in Kenner. Our house had 4 feet of water-all downstairs gone. The AC up stairs works so Bill, Michael and myself have made our master BR our kitchen--nope, no parfaits!! Just awaiting on the insurance adjuster to come...alot of hard work ahead. I lost my 57 t-bird-full of salt water along with so very much more that can be replaced someway. I got an email from Karen-she didn't get flooded, but alot of debre in her yard and a stinky refig. In our area there has been know trash pick up for over a month--people have put out bad food, ruined stuff stacked many feet high--it is a real health problem--with maggets, misqutoes and the like. I am greatful I have my family-we're abit nutty for sure, but in time I believe we will be ok. I'm sure you all have seen the pictures on TV, but until you actually see this in person, you haven't seen anything. There are troops all around here-we are eating ration food and bottled water...goodbye luxuries..know hot water-I really see how I have taken for granted everything we had on a day to day bases-now it's back to basics-only exception is my computer. I urge all of you to give to the charity of your choice to help ALL the victims of this horrible situation. May God Bless You !

Well Saturday May 28, 2005 history was made - Carol, Beverly, Janis, Karen, Lee, Richard, Seal, Sidney and Sue reunited and re-uned. It was not just headlines and news of the day. We shared context, analysis, op-ed, gossip and ENTERTAINMENT like we'd all been together yesterday! I think it was yesterday in fact. A great time was had by all.

We're planning a re-play Thanksgiving weekend - anyone who's going to be in town that weekend vote your preference for meeting time, date and place. It's not too early - after all maybe Elvis will show up next time if he's given enough notice.

Hope y'all had a great holiday weekend. Pictures will follow at some point - I'm sure.

My apologies for the delay in posting this month’s birthdays. I’ve been in New York for a month and did not have access to my home computer. So, I decided to download the entire website to my laptop, download the software, make the changes, and republish the site. Well, you can guess the rest. The entire site got screwed up. I wasted seven hours today trying to fix it, and it’s still a mess in a few places. I’ll republish it when I return to Austin in a few weeks. But… the birthdays are there!

Happy Birthday to our April sweethearts!!!!!!!!!!

Reeling from news everyday about the devastation in Asia, I am finding my check to Red Cross and prayers for the victims and families are not enough! Is there more I can do? Forgoing quickly discarded New Year resolutions, I offer an INTENTION to "Brighten the Corner Where I Am." And, more importantly, I will give continual ATTENTION to my INTENTION, throughout the year.

Deeply distressed, following disappointment in having to cancel plans to minister to thousands on a Speaking Circuit in 1912, due to having to care for an ailing father, Ina Duley Ogdon, made up her mind to be a blessing wherever she was. If she could not minister to many, she could be a blessing to one - her father - and to those around him. She sat down and wrote:

Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do,
Do not wait to shed your lights afar,
To the many duties ever near you now be true,
Brighten the corner where you are.

After the poem was set to music, it became one of gospel music's most popular and uplifting songs: Brighten the Corner Where You Are. Ogdon has ministered to millions now, rather than thousands. Consider the possibilities if we spend 2005 brightening our own small corner of the world! "Someone far from harbor...You may guide Across the bar."

Shine On and Happy New Year!

Best wishes to all for 2005...good health, good friends, good "vibrations"!

To Livid - I'm a fellow traveler on your road - has anyone ever asked bush what his standards for performance are? That he feels rummy is doing an excellent job, that tenant, brenner and tommy franks deserved the highest civilan medals awarded - what were the criteria? If you or anyone else wants to vent further I'd be glad to commiserate -beverlychicago@hotmail.com.

Enough is never enough??? Too bad Rumsfield is unable to heed the pleadings in the song playing on the Home Page. He would rather our citizens "Come go with me".....ready or not!

I feel sure our Webmeister had no intentions of making a political statement when selecting the snappy soulful song (the kind we all love)... but the words are rather profound and might offer a New Year's Wish to all....Peace and Love between the races...No hatred tolerated...no disasters (timely)...no political dominaton...no wars...no economical exploitation...equal communication...etc. etc.

Watergate Salad
2 pkg. (4 serving size each) jello pistachio flavored instant pudding and pie filling
2 cans (20 oz. each) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
2 cups minature marshmallows
1 cup chopped pecans
3 cups (8 oz. tubs) thawed cool whip
Mix dry pudding mix pineapple, marshmellows and pecans in a large bowl until blended. Gently stir in cool whip, cover.
Frig. for 1 hr. or untill you are ready to serve. Garnish with additional cool whip and pecans, chopped. Makes 16 servings. I usually put it in a pretty footed bowl and have everyone serve themselves, but you can go ahead and put on the salad plates-can line with lettece. Wa La !

Thought I's share this with you gals--I was having burning eyes-saw Doc. and said I had fungus on my eye lashes because of not removing it all. He gave me a simple procedure: Use a small custard cup 1/2 filled with warm water and 3 drops of Johnson's and Johnson's baby shampoo--use a cotton ball dipped in the solution and wipe gently-then use a q tip and do the same-then use a warm face cloth and hold over your eyes. Feels so good. I have several friends that wake up in the AM and have puffy eyes-they do this, but use the warm face cloth for several times-all gone. My Doc. also said this helps prevent loss of eye lashes. Hey guys, this feels so good-try it.
To all classmates : Peace of mind, warmth of heart, The brightness of hope--These things are Christmas, God's gift for you to keep-This year and always. Merry Christmas to you all. Gail -I wrote this once and it didn't come up-so maybe you'l see it twice. Dunno

Thought I'd pass this along to all of you gals...I was recently having burning eyes-I saw my Doc. and he said I had fungus on my eye lashes because I wasn't removing all the mascara at night. So he gave me a simple task to do 2 X's a day..I use a custard cup 1/2 full of warm water and 3 drops of Johnsons and Johnsons baby shampoo..use a cotton ball to wipe your eye lashes and then a q tip to also cleanse..then use a warm face cloth and put over your eyes..feels good ! The Doc also said this helps prevent your eye lashes from falling out. I have several friends that wake up in the AM and have puffy eyes..they do this, but use the warm face cloth several times..all gone !! Hey you guys can do it too.
Recently I was in a store that sold no carbs and no sugar salad dressings and to boot also chocolate...sells fast..I know of many people on this Atkins diet or any diet, so I'd like to share with you the web site and you can call and not use your credit card on line--I ordered Blue Cheese for Bill and the choc.--so good !! www.waldenfarms.com --also no colestrol. Check it out.
Wishing all of you : Peace of mind, warmth of heart, The brightness of hope--These things are Christmas, God's gift for you to keep this year and always. Merry Christmas to you all.
