| Comments: | We feel just like the letter-writer Chuck Reed. We just lost our beloved Benny, almost nine years old, to lymphoma. He also was a unique and wonderful companion. The whole illness, so far as we were aware, took about a month from first symptoms to the day he died. It is such a shock.
I found your web site via a google inquiry "Australian Shepherds" + lymphoma. I am curious now about this horrible disease in dogs. I wonder if aussies are particularly susceptible? I also wonder if the general population of dogs has experienced an increase in the rate of this scourge in recent years. Several friends, neighbors and acquaintances have offered ideas to help any future pet of ours avoid this painful death. Many say diet is a key component. Some medical web sites I've seen, however, say it's largely hereditary. I wonder if Benny's breeders were aware of anything in his lineage that might have indicated susceptibility. We had nearly nine years of love and joy with Benny. We will always be grateful for his sweet and spunky spirit. Still, how we wish we could have enjoyed our time together for another 5 years or so. Dawn was taked to see the Lord. We are devistated and lost without reason, she went everywhere we did and when my husband was so sick in the Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. she was all that I had to sonsole me in my time of need. | Comments: | Oh my...what a wonderful site you have. I lost my Penny on April first this year. I've never experienced a more loving and faithful companion, except for my wife. Ms. Funny Penny, as I called her affectionally, was at my side every minute we were together. She was so young, only six, with lymphoma. We tried to keep her but in the end the cancer won. Lord, I miss her so much. Friends tell me to get another, but I don't think I can go through this again. And, I could search the world over high and low and never find another Ms. Funny Penny...her personality was so special, and she was absolutely obedient. Indeed, Penny was a gift from God, because she helped me with a daily 2-mile walk after my heart attack in November 1996. I still can't walk some places we walked together...it's so hard. Thank you for the wonderful site...its a tribute to Aussies everywhere. |

I was loohing through the web trying to find a new Aussie, my last one was killed yesterday morning by my neighbors Rotwielers and we are wanting to fill the space that is left in our lives. The baby we lost was named Deja Vu. He had an interesting way of entering our lives. My step mother had a dream about a multi colored dog and he had the bluest crystal coloered eyes that could see right throgh to your very soul. And later that day after sh told us all that dream we were at our new house swimming in the pond and suddenly we hear splashing and turn around and there he was. He just swam up to my step mother like they were long lost friends. He was with us for two wonderful years and in that time he affected all of our lives like nothing ever had before. he was a true friend and healer and helped cheer me up many a time. he will be missed. | Comments: | I quite enjoyed you lovely web site. After pestering my husband for many months, I finally received my first Aussie last December for Christmas. Bubba is a gorgeous blue merle with brown high points. I love this dog to pieces, however I must say we have had our trying moments. We have had to make sure that he gets ample exercise and lots of love, I do believe he thinks he is a person. It is uncanny how smart these dogs are, we learnt this when we decided to send Bubba to bed early one night and he did not think he was ready for bed. The longer we have Bubba the more settled he becomes, he has become my best friend and always want to be close to me, though it is hard for him to understand why a 55 pound dog cannot be a lap dog. I look forward to the day we buy our farm and I can get a buddy for Bubba. Yours is a wonderful ministry and I commend you on a beautiful job. |

I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE! GREAT JOB!! All I can say about these wonderful wigglebutts is that they are "Blessed to be a Blessing". I own Blaze or should I say he owns us. I have attempted to sign you page but wasn't able to find the right words to describe how wonderful you and your dogs are and how much my family and I enjoyed, and are thankful for the opportunity to adopt a dog from you. Currently my husband’s aunt is in a nursing home receiving Hospice care. Unfortunately her brain is good but her body isn’t, she is very weak and alone but when we visit and Blaze lays his head in her hand and she gently strokes his soft fur I see the comfort he gives her (not to mention she has always been afraid of dogs and now looks forward to his visits). I truly see that he is God’s Gift, and you can’t put as much love and Caring as Pam does into her dogs and not have beautiful creatures inside and out…All I can say is Bless you Pam and your Mission Love, Carol, Howard & Hannah |
