Just wanted to let you know how well our "purple girl" Tashi, settled in. Tashi is a lovely dog with a beautiful nature. Tashi is 4 months old and has taken to life with us beautifully. I wouldn't have any other dog except a golden retriever. They are gentle giants with the best nature. I married my husband & lived on his 80 acre family farm in 1992. They had a retriever named "Ben". He loved the farm with all the animals & he had so much fun with so much exercise chasing us all around the farm whether we were on the motor bikes or tractor. He would always stop for a cool of in the dam or any puddle of water he would come across. Sadly he passed away at 14 1/2 years of age, due to old age in 1996. Anyway we couldn't handle with not having Ben around as he was greatly missed so we tracked down another retriever & yes it was called "ben 2". He was exactly like the Ben 1 & he did the same things as he did. The kids use to dress him up in fancy dress costumes & he loved to get the morning paper for us that would get delivered at the entrance to the farm. Sadly he only passed away in Sept this year, aged 11. His 12th birthday would have been on Nov 16th. Very sad & the kids were devastated. I still sometimes call him to come or I start to go to feed him then I think oh gosh silly me he is not here anymore. So now we are ready for another one & yes my husband is going to name it Ben 3. This would be our second retriever. Our son suffers from allergies and reacts with most dogs, but wasn't allergic to our retriever who unfortunately died of old age when our son was 2 3/4. He adored and trusted her, but unfortunately since her passing, due to dealings with an Aunt's toy poodle & its terrible temperament, he has developed a real fear of dogs. He only wants a retriever just like 'Jessie'. Therefore, it is important that we get one of gentle temperament. We also travel to Sydney a lot, visiting family, which is approximately 5 hours from home, so it is important that it likes and can handle car travel. |

| Comments: | We were in Aussie in December and enjoyed the privilege of attending the Scottish Breeds Show in Flemington, Melbourne, Vic., just before Christmas. We met a lot of lovely people and have since linked with several Victorian breeders. Each day he brings so much joy and happiness to the children but he has really slowed down in the past year and now struggles a bit on the cold mornings to get mobile but still gives his trademark smile when someone give him attention. I am a single parent and work in the mornings.My son has some disabilities, He is a great kid and very physical big motor skill wise but has trouble with sensory and learning. The doctors think he needs a companion to take care of to help him grow.He needs a bigger,gental dog with good temperment that he can love and run with.WE have a big yard and land with a river for the two of them to play.I was told these were the best of the best.I was wondering on the price of these dogs, I know there not cheep but like i said im a single mom who loves her kids and dogs.I dont have tuns of money but do have anough to take care of the dog and kids and my son needs good therpy and this is what i want to do for him.
