Rose (her first marriage was Stevenson). He and his second wife moved to Mill Shoals, Ill in 1895. He died there in 1910.
The only thing I know about his birth is that he was born in Tennessee abt. 1850. I have an unsubstantiated hint that he came from White County Tenn. He and family, including my grandfather William N. are in the 1870 Pike County Ind Census. |

Looking for ODELL family connections. My daughter is an Odell and I have run into a brick wall with her great grand-father. I suspect he may have changed his name, but so far have not found any concrete evidence of this. Fredrick Hayness Odell showed up on the 1910 US Census in TX as being aged 18, born 4/15/1892. He was working on a farm, and living with an unrelated family. He married Jewel Alene Bryan sometime prior to 1932, when his first son, Clyde Darrall Odell, Sr. was born. He and Jewel had another son, Alfred in 1934. Clyde Sr. was in the Marines. He was medically discharged. He married a Marilyn Lee Miller and they lived in TX. Clyde Sr. and Marilyn had the following children: Brenda Lee 10/6/1956 and Clyde Darrall Odell, Jr. 7/26/1958. I believe that Clyde Sr. and Marilyn may have divorced shortly before his death. In 1962 Alfred accidentally shot and killed Clyde Darrall Sr. in the living room of their parents house in Ft. Worth. Anyway...I cannot go back any further, and I am trying to get in touch with any other ODELLS to find some more info. Thanks. Ingrid |

state. I have Ezra OLIVER in Essex county in 1820, his family and the family of Joseph ODELL were in Greene county until about 1850 when some of them moved to Sullivan county. These families intermarried quite a bit. Joseph and Catherine were parents of Ruben ODELL who married Emily Ester OLIVER and Hannah ODELL who married Darius OLIVER. Ruben and Emily ODELL had a son, Joseph King ODELL who married Minerva OLIVER, daughter of Darius and Hannah OLIVER. THey moved to Delaware county. Joseph King and Minerva ODELL had a son, George, who had a son, William, who had a son, Leroy O'Dell, who is my father. Apr 1825 to James Vanderlip. He died 27 Sep 1834 and she remarried to Russel Leonard, m. April 1835. She died ca 1873. I have no idea as to the location of any of these events. tree back to Ruben Odell who fought in the Revolution and was granted one hundred acres of land for his sevice in the commonwealth of Virginia in 1785. His wife was Elizabeth Henson. Their children were Isaac,Abraham,Ruben,Bartholemue,John, James,Phillip,Jacob,Nancy and Mary.I have the history of the descendants of Isaac, his son James H. Odell, his son George W. Odell, and his son Howard my grandfather.There are lots of other names in the tree; Gammill, McGaha, Wilson, Hayes, Lynn, Compton. I would like to find more information on Ruben, and Mary Gammill who died 12-18-1893. Her parents were William Gammill and Ann McGaha. Williams father was James Gammill. I would also like to hear from other Odells. |

having much luck. I did however find a 90yr old relative to shed a little light on the fact that grgranddad actually had family!!! His name is Ira and is the son of Franklin John O'Dell and Catherine Willis(Franklins 1st wife was Mary Brandt) there were 3 childeren from the first marriage births ranging from about 1875 to 1879, in Aberdeen, Brown South Dakota and Westminster, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. There were 6 childern from the 2nd marriage(including my grgrandfather) born between 1882 to 1896 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, or Sheho, Saskatchewan, Canada. three sisters Stella, Sadie and Carrie. Their Father was M. Nathan Odell and their mother was Lucinda Crouse. I think the family was in the Ohio/Indiana/Michigan area. Jessie was born in 1872 and died in 1964. We think her parents were born about 1850. |
