Bear Nik Frengle I met a bear but I didn't really have time to talk to him. He was busy eating, and I was at the zoo with my mom and dad and they wanted to see the zebras and penguins. So I didn't really have time. I wonder what we would have talked about. After all, I have enough trouble talking to regular boys and bear boys are probably much more difficult to talk to. I wonder if they have that macho thing, too. You wouldn't think they'd need to since they are so big and furry and always look a little on the grumpy side anyway. He was eating some berries. I wonder if he was just humoring the zoo guys. They probably read somewhere in a book where bears only like berries, and even if they don't they should only like berries, so they only feed them berries. Like my mom and her children's nutrition book. They recommended squash soup to get your kids used to eating that very yucky vegetable. So mom makes that. I refused to even touch it. Dad took me into the living room and said "humour your mother dear. If you are nice she will have time to try the soup herself and realize how disgusting it is. But if you make a fuss she will just focus on making you eat it and not have the chance to discover its taste." He was right. Mom never fixed that soup again for dinner. She still trys to get me to eat squash, though. I sort of doubt that the zoo guys eat the bear's berries, but maybe, even though he'd probably rather be eating a Big Mac, he figured the berries weren't quite so bad after all. And they couldn't be worse than squash. |
