| Comments: | What a wonderful site! I've dabbled intermittently over the last several years in genealogy, and am just now trying to get seriously organized. The depth of information you have is amazing.
I'm descended from Thomas C. Hervey (b.1850)/Nancy Jane Miller through Alta Hervey. Finding more on her has been a challenge, since the census records that are transcribed generally have her name as Atta! I look forward to spending a lot more time digesting your research. Thanks again for all your work and posting all this! |

| Comments: | I knocked a few bricks off the proverbial brick wall (after 15 yrs) by finding the death record of gg-grandfather James Hervey b. 21 Sep 1845 Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. In the record was names of James's Father: Robert Hervey b. Scotland, and Mother: Hannah Gibbons b. England.
Unfortunately the Brick wall hasn't come down, as I cannot find anything regarding Robert Hervey b. Scotland, and Mother: Hannah Gibbons b. England.....I'll continue the search though.... Thanks for your site, hopefully someday I'll have something to contibute |

| Comments: | What an amazingly well-done web site! I'm trying to find a clue for how, when and why did the name Hervey enter my Lemmon family. We have James Hervey Lemmon, b. 1820, NY. I do not have his parents' names for a certainty, but IF the ancestor is Hugh Lemmon, b. 1754, he immigrated from N. Ireland to PA. James H. Lemmon's son, also James Hervey Lemmon, was b. 1853, NE (while crossing the Oregon Trail). This name was important enough to someone to keep in the family for at least two generations. Other related names include Whittemore (from NH) and Slover (from IL). |

| Comments: | Hello, my name is (Robert) Reed Hervey.
All I can say is WOW! regarding the work you have done with the Hervey lineage. My great-great grandfather was Col. Calvin Monroe Hervey, oldest child of the marriage between Oney and Ann Holt. I currently live in Texarkana, Texas, however I spent much of my childhood growing up in a place called Lost Prairie, AR ("Hervey" on the AR map) which, I believe, was part of the land that was left to Elizabeth Fowlkes (Col. C. M. Hervey's wife) by Edward Fowlkes. My father and grandfather farmed this area until the late 60's. Charles S. Hervey, Sr., (deceased), my father, began working on the Hervey lineage prior to 1984 (the year he died) and compiled much information from Oney on down to our family. But he also gathered information on the English Herveys (e.g., Earl of Bristol, etc.). I was researching in an attempt to update my father's work and to discover a connection between the Hervey nobility in England and/or Scotland and those that were in the US when I happened onto your site. Thanks for your work, Reed |

He married Eliz Hall, and later Ann Gwither, daughter of Nicholas Gwither/Guyther, High Sheriff of St Marys Co, and Barbara Christiana Di Hinojossa, who father Alexander was de facto governor of New Amstel, now Delaware. Charles and Ann had three sons Basil, George, and William. Thanks,

I am descended from Harveys on the Isle of Wight. My father Reginald (1892-1972) was born in London and emigrated to Australia in 1915. His mother Emma was married to Francis Simeon Harvey. He had two brothers, Edgar and Frank and three sisters, May Irene and Violet. Reg spent most of his childhood in Whitwell, cared for by his aunt who ran the local Post Office. In Australia Reg married Lucy, the daughter of a French master mariner David Ravel. I would love to hear from anyone researching this branch of the Harveys. |

| Comments: | Thank you for all the research you've done and for publishing it for all of us to enjoy and learn from.
My husdand's grandfather was William Hervey of Marlow Oklahoma. He died a few years ago at age 95. He was a descendant of Col Thomas Hervey and Betty Pritchett. I knew this from research that a brother-in-law did, but we didn't have much information of Col. Thomases ancestors. Your information gives us more leads to go on. Our son, our firstborn, David Wayne Hervey died of a very unexpected sudden heart attack last Dec. 20. I wish I could have told him that he was named after a lot of other David Herveys - we didn't know. |

| Comments: | Wow! Your Harvey/Hervey site has gotten my juices flowing in the genealogy lines. I am looking for information on the James and Mary Ford Hervey's who emigrated with their children Robert, John, James, Hugh, Mary, Joesph, David, William and Ford, from County Down Ireland circa 1844. I am trying to locate them in Ireland, but since all of the Hervey's from that area seemed to have given their children the same Christian names, it's mighty confusing. I am descended from James and Mary through John, his son William, and his son James. Thank you for any information you may be able to provide beyond Joyce's website. |

I'm looking for information about the James and Mary (Ford) Hervey family. They came over with their children, including their son and my great-great grandfather, John. They're difficult to trace further back than Ireland just before they came over due to the common names each family member named their children. These included John, Robert, William, Mary, Ford, Hugh aka H.H., David, and James (Jr. I presume. If anyone can help with more information, I'd be grateful. Cheryl (Hervey) Day, Michigan |

| Comments: | I found your site using Google. Love the information you have on the Washington Co, PA Harvey/Hervey lines. I found most of those records from previous research.
I have a William Harvey, b 5 Jun 1805 PA; d 30 Oct 1859 Tama Co, IA; md Rachel Irwin 14 Sep 1831 Belmont Co, OH. I think he is the grandson of the William Harvey who left will dated 1816. William of the will had a son William who died intestate. In that intestate record is a son William old enough to "choose" his guardian, so he fits the right age range to be my William (1805), that would make three William Harveys in a row. Although the marriage of my William and wife Rachel Irwin is recorded in Belmont Co, OH, it is also published in a Washington Co, PA newspaper. Rachel's family is from Lancaster Co, PA, so I figure the reasoning is my William's family must be back in Washington Co, PA. There is a Joseph Harvey in Belmont Co, OH, that I believe is the son of the William of the 1816 will. Joseph and his brother James went down to KY, but did not stay down there. That is where the house is located that James leaves to his wife in his will. A descendant of Joseph Harvey says he had a fight with his brother Robert, who went back to PA. I can tie bits and pieces of this Harvey family together, but no hard fast "concrete" proof tying my William Harvey to them. I would be happy to share more information I have with anyone working on this line. |

I am researching my Harvey ancestors and have "run into a wall". I last found them on 1850 Census in Davidson Co., NC but have been unable to find them since. Their names were William and Frances (aka Fannie). According to my GGrandmother, her father, Randal (son of William and Frances) was Native American. I have been unable to verify. Would love to hear from anyone who may have found William and Frances in their research or who can offer advice, since I am new to geneaology research. Thank you. |

| Comments: | Since my email address has changed, I am repeating a message left a couple of years ago concerning my search for the ancestors of my grandfather, Andrew Frank Harvey. He, and I, am decendents of Dr. Richard H. Harvey who lived in Fayette County, Tennessee in the 1860s. Richard H. Harvey married Mary J. Rogers on June 16, 1869. Andrew Frank Harvey was born in Yum Yum, Tennessee, and had many relatives in Somerville, TN. Richard Harvey came to Tennessee from Virginia, but I reached a dead end in my search for Virginia records, and anything earlier. My family has almost no information about my grandfather prior to his moving to Mississippi in the 1930s. He married Erlien Yates about 1918 and lived in Memphis, TN and Tupelo, MS.
If anyone has information concerning the Harveys of the Yum Yum and Somerville areas of Tennesse, I would be thankful for a return email. Drew Harvey (Andrew Frank Harvey, III) |

| Comments: | My GG Grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Rebecca Harvey (1838 AL-1925 TX)who married William Clark Farrar (1834 NC-1921 TX) in Pontotoc Co., MS 11 Jan 1857. They migrated from MS to Eula, Callahan Co., TX shortly after 1900. I have a very good line for William Farrar, but not much for Elizabeth Harvey. My brother concluded that her parents were Theophilus and Rebecca Harvey of Lowndes Co., MS but Rebecca was only 12 years older than Elizabeth, not impossible but improbable. I recently found a family headed by Thomas Harvey 37(1813 SC) and Lorana 34(1816 GA) who lived at dwelling 1574 of Pontotoc Co. in the 1850 census. Their children were Elizabeth 13 (1837 AL), Louisa 12 (1838 AL), James 8 (1842 AL), Frances 10 F (1840 AL), Leona 6 (1844 MS) and Thomas 4 (1846 MS). Apparently the family moved from Alabama around 1843 from the children's births. The Farrars lived at dwelling 1564 of Pontotoc Co. in 1850 so I have concluded that this family has a very high probablilty of being my ancestors. I have not yet found any of this family after 1850 other than my GG Grandmother. If any one has a line on this family, I would appreciate hearing from you.
This is a great site, but I have not found my particular Harveys as yet. Congratulations on putting together an interesting and informative site. Willis Cooke Santa Fe, Texas |
