Seems like everytime I track down the phone number for an old friend, or visit an old haunt and inquire about HHS classmates - they're dead. Most recently ( a few weeks ago) Dave Hurst, whose story I won't go into here. Maybe this will be a more productive way to touch base with some former HHS "wall hangers" and O'Quinn Park (former?)deviants from the hey days.
Was it something in the water?

Comments?:Love to hear from old friends. I tried to sign the book before and it didn't post. I am a weird guy you know. I am married to the only wife I have ever had. I have 7 children-- 22yrs-9mos, 4 girls and 3 boys. I am a jail chaplain in Mississippi. I have been a Christian since 1978 after some party years of which I am ashamed of. I pray that God will continue to change what was a very bad jerk of a person into a productive person, husband and father.

I am a jail chaplain in Meridian, MS. My one and only wife is named Linda and we have 7 beautiful children. 21,20,17,13,6,3,9 mos. (girl,boyx3,girlx3)
None are married yet and all live in my home. Two in college, 3 in homeschool and two preschoolers. We are blessed beyond measure. After 7 terrible years of being a prodigal I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ in 1978 and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. I am still a recovering jerk but God is helping me to be an overcomer. I love my life and the people that share my home. I don't make much money but I am a "millionaire" in other ways.

Anyone else from that far back at Allapattah may also feel free to contact me. There are some dozens of us who are again in touch after 45 years and we have free reproductions of the '60-'61 yearbook for those who do not have their own, courtesy of one of your schoolmates. He grew up in West Palm and graduated the same year (1969). He just retired (9/1/06) from U.S. Customs and we moved to a beautiful new home in the Rocky Mountains just outside Colorado Springs. It was always a dream of mine to live in the mountains. Life is good and we both feel like we have been given a second chance. Hope everyone is having a good 2007!

(hurricane shutters) I decided to check out the website and take a stroll down memory lane. I am sort of amazed that I don't periodically run into some of our classmates once in awhile. Maybe most of you have left South Florida? I have to admit to a measure of relief as I scrolled through the list of names, not to see deceased next to some of your names. I hope that you and your families are healthy and enjoying your lives. Best wishes, Brett.

Comments?:Hi guys!!

Well another great reunion took place last weekend for the Classes of 65/66 (a/k/a Reunion of the 60s, "Part II"). Unfortunately, not too many from our class showed, but those that did I think enjoyed it as much as we did. The people from our class were Karen Kemp, Alice Quimby (who did a great job singing with The Reunion Band), Mike Morris (who also did a great job playing the drums with The Reunion Band), Gonzalo Gonzalez (he had never been to any of our reunions before, but I think he really had a good time because I saw him on the dance floor for most of the night!), Gary Harper and, of course, Vic and me. Vic sang "Johnny Be Good" again with the band and he was a big hit and had a great time. We were unable to make it on Saturday night, but I understand it was a lot of fun too.

The Reunion Band was awsome! Tommy Bova on keyboard ('67) again did a great job of getting everyone together, and he, together with Art Jansik on lead guitar('68), Mel Weinstein on drums (sorry...I'm not sure of the year he graduated, but I think it's '67), Carlos Lopis (spelling??) on base, rhythm and lead guitar ('70), Alice Quimby singing ('69), Charlie Molter (Alice's husband) on lead guitar and rhythm ('67) and Mike Morris ('69) as the relief drummer (I hope I got everyone!) were all wonderful. Thanks so much for all your time you took rehearsing and putting on such a great show for the rest of us.

Thanks again to the Classes of 65 and 66 for inviting us to share a fun night. We always enjoy getting together with friends and look forward to the next reunion.

Till then!
Ofe

Comments?:Hi Everyone,

Hialeah High - The Class of 69!
I loved reading the comments from this page. It makes me feel 17 again.

As luck would have it, after a 28 year career with Dade County Public Schools, I was appointed the principal at MY old elementary school - North Hialeah Elementary in 2001.
As I told my staff I when I arrived here - I already knew where the principal's office was! I hope to finish my career here where it all began over 45 years ago.
Since we are the closest school to Hialeah High we have helped them out over the past two years as their new buliding was under construction. The old P.E. field now has a new addition on it - so their band and football team practiced here for two years. When I'm at Hialeah High for meetings it brings back so many great memories.

I would like to have a North Hialeah Elementary School Reunion- so if you or anyone you know attended North Hialeah please e-mail me or call the school at 305-681-4611 and ask to speak to me. Please feel free to come by and visit the school.

Here's to you and your health!

Sincerely,
John Schoeck

Robert Sanchez told me if that happens, it will be the first time since 1941 that two Dade teams play against each other for State. Good luck guys...hope you go all the way again!

The years are, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 year books for Hialeah High. I'm also looking for someone who has a copy of the "Solid Gold" yearbook from Henry H. Filer Jr. High...class of 1980! I went to both of these schools and my friends have been on my mind recently and would like to know the whearabouts on them. Anyone, Please ANYONE that can help, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Comments?:This is from the President of the HHS Alumni Association in response to some questions which arose regarding the Association. Please direct your inquiries directly to her. Take care! Ofe As the current president I would like to tell you why it's safe to join and how the funds will be used: a. We specifically set up a non-profit so that we would be required to register with the state and file income tax papers at the end of the year. Thereby, making the officers of the association accountable and liable for any mismanagement. I personally welcome anyone who wants to look at the books to come to one of our meetings and take a look for themselves. b. Those of us that have worked to form the association are not the "leaders for life". Elections of officers will be held as the association grows and people want the jobs. In fact there are several positions available for the two years that need to be filled (i.e. scholarship chair, entertainment chair, mentoring chair, fundraising chair, and the different groups needed to plan a 50th anniversary) If you live far away you might want to look at how you can participate from afar. c. Funds raised for scholarships will be given to deserving graduating seniors nominated by the school. We can work with the school to develop a specific set of criteria for the coming years. We hope to give a deserving 2002 grad a scholarship that they can put towards their college education. What the amount will be depends on all of us. d. The next two years are busy ones for the association. We are committed to planing and executing a 50th anniversary celebration. Our goal is to bring together everyone that has ever attended, taught or worked at HHS for a weekend of celebration. e. As we grow in membership, we hope to develop, in conjunction with the academies, a mentoring program. This program will pair up an alumni with a student in that is interested in the career path of the alumni. We might want to consider mentoring students that are at risk of dropping out or failing. If you still feel queasy about joining the alumni association, please feel free to contact me directly. Who am I? My name is Alejandra Lorenzo (a.k.a. Alex). I graduated from Hialeah High in 1979 and I now work for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a computer specialist. Why am I doing this?: 1. My high school counselor some how found a scholarship for me that got me into MDCC and on my way to where I am today. It's time I paid her back by doing for others what she did for me. 2. I truly believe that our children are our future. The more we help them develop and grow that brighter our lives will be. 3. I hate that we spend $50,000.00 dollar to keep people in jails and only a couple of thousand (if that) to educate them. I want to keep them out of jail. 4. It's the right thing for me to do!!! Thanks for your concerns and questions. I hope to see you at our meeting. Comments?:Hello and Happy New Year! I hope this finds you all well. I wanted to let you all know that a few alumni from various graduating classes have gotten together and have formed the "Hialeah High School Alumni Association, a non profit corporation." This corporation has been formed to grant scholarships to alumni who need help with their college tuitions, develop a mentorship program in conjunction with the schools' academics and annual scholarship fundraisers, and also to help organize the 50th year anniversary of our school's opening which will happen in the year 2004. We have already started having meetings about where this 50th year anniversary party will take place, and as soon as we have more definite plans, we will let everyone know so that you can plan on being there. We would like to have as many members as possible and have set up dues at a mere $20 a year. With your help, these $20 will not only help in granting scholarships to those in need, but will also help in miscellaneous costs of putting this huge event together, such as printing, supplies, postage, etc. I hope that everyone will join and tell other alumni who are not "on line" about this worthy cause so that they too can join. Please send your check payable to "HIALEAH HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION" in the amount of $20 (or more if you so desire) to: Hialeah High School Alumni Association P. O. Box 914 Key Biscayne, FL 33149 When remitting your check, please be sure to send it along with the information below which you can cut and remit with your check. Comments?:I hope everyone had a nice time over the past weekend. It sure was nice seeing everyone after all these years. I loved seeing all the 50 year olds out there dancing their butts off at 1am on Sat. night. It was so cool even the Class of '91 came to join us oldies. Also a special thank you to the guys that played the great music for us on Friday night led by Tom Bova. I spoke to Jimmy from Jimmy Jam Productions, who was our D.J. yesterday and asked him to extend the deadline for purchasing videos from the reunion. He has agreed to extend the deadline to Sept. 14, 2001 for the original price. I have uploaded the form necessary for purchase to the website at www.hialeahhigh.com . Just click on the appropriate link, print it out and follow the instructions. If you did not get the opportunity to order a Reunion Memory Book you may also print out the form for ordering by clicking on the appropriate link on the website. I have also uploaded a list of the "Reunion of the 60's" attendees. If you attended and your name is not on there please let me know and I'll add it. After the smoke clears and everything gets back to normal we also have a couple of additional announcements to make regarding the reunion. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their help and cooperation for a successful reunion. The Hialeah Spirit really rang true when approximately 100 extra grads showed up to celebrate with us. I appreciate everyone working together to get the job done and allowing all the grads to enjoy the evening. I would also like to thank the sponsors for their kind donations for give away items. Many of the items given away are true collectors items. My hat is off to them for their support of our reunion effort. Gary McBride "Lefty"

Comments?:WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The Reunion Band (TRB) was absolutely, positively AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! They should cut a CD!!!!!!! Thanks, guys, for all the hard work & effort...ya'll were really wonderful & we truly appreciate everything you did for us. I didn't know about the accident until reading the guest book...man....makes ya stop & think. I'm SOOOOOOO thankful ya'll walked away from it ALIVE!!!!!! On my way down to Miami via the interstate, I was actually run off the road by a 18-wheeler...they are so very careless & uncaring about us folks in smaller vehicles. Luckily, he had a "How's My Driving? Call 1-800-etc." and guess what!?!?! Boy did I report his ass! The sad part is that, after 2 weeks, the company's "safety" coordinator has not called me back. To all of you: Stay away from the big trucks whenever possible...either pass them quickly or let them get ahead of you. They don't care about you at all nor do they respect life. If I hadn't have slammed on my brakes & veered off onto the shoulder, I would been in an extremely serious accident. I'm just so thankful Tommy & Bonnie are alive (although probably sore). They were extremely fortunate. Hope your aches & pains vanish and that your memories of the reunion flourish in your minds! THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT MUSIC AND A BIG THANKS TO THE REUNION COMMITTEE FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK!!!!! WAY TO GO! GO T-BREDS!

Comments?:FIRST...just let me say that your response to TRB and The SPELLBINDERS on Friday nite was nothing short of "SPECTACULAR"! I believe our combination of listening music (Spellbinders) and dance music (TRB) was the key! If you guys only knew how much YOU "PUMPED US UP"... The full dance floor and appreciation shown our performances was nothing short of any concert I have ever attended. As a professional musician for the last 30 years, I have never been so inspired and thankfull (see below) as you made me/us feel. The hardest thing for a performer to do is perform in from of his peers! The practices we had were enjoyable but never, Never, NEVER, did we expect the response that we received. All the hard work that we put into the performance both individually and as a group was well worth our efforts. Now that we have a "repertoire" (LOL) of 29 songs, the possibility exists that it "might" encourage us to have an encore performance sometime, someplace! The thing that I want all of you to know, is that there were no "ringers" in either of these groups, WE ARE ALL T-BREDS: Art Jansik '68 / Carlos Llopis '70 / Charlie Molter '67 / Dennis Beres '67 Harry Jones '67 / Mel Weinberg '68 / Russ McKinley '67 / Tommy B '67 SECOND...With all our heart, both Bonnie and myself want to thank all of you who expressed your concern for us due to the accident we had on the way to the reunion. AT NO TIME did the thought of not showing up cross our minds! IT WAS TRULY A MIRACLE that the Good Lord saw to it that we were able to continue our journey after the total destruction of the vehicle we had purchased only the day before. It was also truly a miracle that all of my equipment worked after the trailer it was being transported in tipped over and slid, literally, 500 feet down the Florida Turpike on it's side. We are both just now (Monday) feeling the physical consequences of our "E" ticket ride. To literally have a one on one battle with an 18 wheeler going 70 miles an hour and be able to walk away from it is nothing short of a miracle. The only thing I can say is that God provided us with that chariot (vs my little Ford Bronco II) to ride in to allow us to continue his work here on earth. Had we been in that Ford Bronco, you might literally be planning to attend a double funeral! Again, Bonnie and I thank you all for your concerns and prayers. Love you all, Tommy B & Bonnie P.S. I hope you never have to experience this (and those who have know what I'm talking about) but although an "airbag" did save our life, it produces an odor that is one of the ugliest, meanest, horrible smells I have ever encountered!

Boy did that bring back some memories!! In my last entry, I only mentioned names of people from our class, but it was also great seeing my good friends, Jack and Ellen Batchelor, and Mike “Buddah” and Patty Turner, Robert Sanchez, Becky Reeves, Tommy Nebrida, Bob Calvert, Linda Pryor and Tommy Olzak (long time guys!!), Cathy O'Connell, Elaine Alpert (we missed you Debbie!!!), Charlie Norman, Robin Cooper, Steve Gaunt, David Kasten, Jeff Gower, Sherry O’Neil, Sherry Hameetman, George and Harriet Hameetman, Jim Pitisci, Anita and Dale Whitten, Marion, Rose and so many more that if I started to try to think of them all, I’d run out of room for the rest of you to post!! I’m sorry if I missed anyone, but suffice it to say it was great seeing you all!

Comments?:WOW! Where do I start to describe this past reunion weekend? From beginning till the very end, it was everything that was promised and then some!!! I know I kept telling you all that I knew it was going to be a lot of fun, but not even in my wildest dreams (and I can have some wild dreams...LOL!) did I think it was going to turn out as great as it did! At one point during the dinner on Saturday night when you looked around the room, it seemed as if there were over 600 people there!!! Lefty, Renata, Linda and Bob, thank you ALL so much for all the work you did to bring this great party together. The hotel was wonderful and it was so nice having the beach right there. I know the guys especially liked it since there were a bunch of topless women sunbathing! Lefty...could this be one of the reasons this site was picked????!!! LOL! I still can see Buddah hanging out the window yelling at me because there was one laying out next to me at the pool. I’m sure Patty must have been having a hard time holding on to him so he wouldn’t jump out the window!! LOL! The Grand Promenade Room where The Reunion Band played on Friday night and where we had our dinner on Saturday night was absolutely beautiful and such a classy place. And even though it took a little long to get our food, I for one thought that everything was wonderful and well worth the wait. I guess it’s hard to get that many people fed at one time without it being a hassle. The Reunion Band was totally kick-ass wonderful!! I’m sure that everyone will agree that never in a million years did we expect them ALL to sound so good. It sounded as if they’d been playing together for years! And we’re all so thankful that Tommy B. and his beautiful wife made it there and were fine since their weekend didn’t start off too well with them having gotten in an accident on the way down for the reunion and totalling out their truck. The other band that played while The Reunion Band was on break, The Spellbinders, were great too. Thank you guys too for coming together and making it such a wonderful night. And last, but not least, thank you to my husband, Vic, the rock’n’roll star, who sung “Johnny Be Good” and had everyone on their feet and screaming their heads off. You all don’t know how good you made him feel to get such a great response to his singing. Hopefully it won’t go to his head because he’ll be impossible to live with!!! LOL! And how about after dinner when we went up to the Starlight Room and got out of the elevators and saw how wonderful that room looked?!!! The decorations were killer and the music put on by JimmyJam Productions was awsome!!! Janet, thank you so much for getting them to cover the music for the reunion. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a party with a DJ production like the one that they put on, even down to Go Go Girls!!! I loved it!! I don’t think that the dance floor was ever empty from the time they started till after 1 a.m. when they finally ended for the night. I know Bob Hayberg must have thought he had died and gone to heaven when he was surrounded by a bunch of wild women who all were dancing with him. I took 6 rolls of film and can’t wait to get the pictures and see the video!! I’m sure that there will be many great stories coming out of this night. And how about the HHS Class of '91 having their 10 year reunion in the same place the same night and having a bunch of them going up to OUR REUNION because their reunion was boring and we were having a better time than they were?!!! Like I told some of them in the elevator, us “old folks” know how to party because we’ve had a lot more experience than they have!! LOL! With the exception of the Class of ‘66 whose 35 year reunion it really was, I believe our class (‘69) had one of the best turnouts there. Some newcomers that had never been to any other reunions were Bob Wessel, Mercy Colon, Elaine Maninos and Nancy Cherry, even though we found Nancy in time for her to attend the Atlanta Winter Fantasy mini reunion, and they all looked great. Some of the other ones that were there were Karen Kemp, Marie Zanfardino, Nancy Magner, Joan Godwin, Debbie Hudson, Edie Hodges, Sue Lowden, Margie Kuhn, Sharyn Sapp, Leanne Schultz, Cathy Aylor, Tommy Pinder, Chris Snow, Rolando Perez, Mike Morris, Nancy Gilbert, Cindy Bostic, Pam Marshall and Stacey Hameetman, and, of course, Vic and me. I really missed my little buddy, Anita Pomposelli, not being there. Well, I think I’ve taken up enough of your time, although I can’t thank Lefty, Linda and Bob enough for this wonderful weekend. As some of you who were there know, I woke up this morning and had lost my voice completely, and I’m sure after seeing how much I can write, you can understand why -- because of all the talking and screaming I did!!! Thanks again to all of you who came because if not for you, this reunion wouldn’t have been as wonderful as it was. This will be one that won’t be soon forgotten! Take care, keep in touch and hopefully we’ll see you at the next one!!! Ofe

In between our 2 sets, "The Spellbinbders" will be playing their set. We hope you will enjoy the "LIVE" sounds you hear at THE BASH, Friday nite! We're sorry we can't play everything you want to hear, but, between the 2 bands, we will give you a lot to remember, and bring back some memories! You will also be able to hear more of your favorite 60's music between bands. By the way, Thank You Lefty for getting the room changed to the Grand Promanade Room on Friday night! Gang, you are gonna love this room, it has a PARTY personality about it and is sooooo much better than the original. It has a great big sunken dance floor and plenty of room for us all. We had the addition of Mel Weinberg on drums and vocals and Harry Jones on vocals and keyboard! We added a few more songs and will have a good variety to play for you: The Cars, The Kingsmen, Free, Steppenwolf, Stones, and of course some more Beatles. We can't play everything, but we'll kick a$$ on what we do play. TRB hopes to see all you T-Breds Friday nite and be ready to Party Down! Tommy B

Comments?:Hi, It was sooo great to see so many of you at the 30 th reunion. Unfortunately we were not able to get to Atlanta last year due to the death of my sisters son. This year we won't be able to make it to the 60's reunion because we'll be in the Grand Canyon the following week. We have to find time to work sometime! It was so neat to get to see some different faces in addition to some of the friends who had attended the 20th and 25th. I had wondered what happened to Cindy Crawford and was really thrilled to see her there. I know this will probably sound a little corny, but it was amazing to see how many of us have become much better people than we were in our teens and twenties. When I was reading some of the stuff written in the questbook, I came upon some comments made by Bob White. I must say, that I remember you and thought you were a nice guy. However, I have some of the same bittersweet memories, and getting to see all of you again has brought to light the significance of the good memories and the bad ones don't really matter anymore. The reunion committee has done a supurb job over and over. I bet you didn't realize what you were committing to when you first got involved. We are glad that you did. I hope to be able to get together with all of you again soon. Also, I'm not sure who to give my email address to, but if any of you know who it need to go to, please forward it for me.

My husband and I moved from Miami to a cow town in Oregon called Mulino... one store, one gas station and a post office (not a single traffic light). But, we love it here. It is truly a place touched by God's hands. We will be back in Fort Lauderdale in two weeks, for my oldest daughter's wedding. Can't extend the trip until August and can't make it back again so quick. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. Can anyone tell me what happened to Joe DeAngelis?

Comments?:Well, we had our first rehearsal last night (Sat). It was a great jam....
Art Jansik & Carlos Llopis on guitar, Charlie Molter on bass, Steve Belleme on drums, and yours truly, Tommy B, on keyboards. We put together (roughly of course, but they sounded good to us...our own worst critics)about 18 songs. Won't tell which ones, you'll have to wait until August to find that out! But we wouldn't pick songs you couldn't groove on, believe me...we want to be famous...LOL!!!
OK, I'll tell you 3 songs we did...

Art wailed on left-handed guitar and sang his a$$ of on "All Along The Watchtower" by Hendrix

Carlos did the same (only right-handed guitar) on "Come On Up" by the Young Rascals

And I did the same while playing right & left-handed keyboards...LOL... on "I Got A Line On You" by Spirit

So there is a preview of what to expect August 24th. We also did some Beatles, Stones, Kinks, etc.
Just wanted you to know that it's coming together. Our next rehearsal will be July 21! Will post progress after that rehearsal and give you a few more song previews.

CHOW!

"IT'S GONNA HAPPEN"
At our August 60's reunion, there will be a 60's reunion
band consisting of HHS alumni RnR wannabees. We will be
playing Friday nite either at the pool or in a room (if
Lefty can work it out)and we'll be jamming to the 60's
music we all know and love. So far the following have
commited to play:
Steve Belleme - drums
Charlie Molter - guitar
Art Jansik - guitar
Tom Bova - keyboards
We're still looking for a competent bass player to round
out the band.
HELP US OUT!!!!! If you or someone you know plays bass
guitar and is a 60's HHS Alumni, please have them/you
contact me at:
tommyb@digitalusa.net
If you have any requests for some legitimate 60's RnR
tunes, please leave them at this message site.

the reunion of the Classes of the 60's! The last reunion

an understatement -- it was absolutely AWESOME!!) And I'm
sure this one will be too! Anybody live in Tallahassee? I

happy to be back...lived here for 13 years prior and should
have moved back a long time ago! Oh well -- better late

60's tunes at the Aug reunion. I have been, currently am,
and always will be a keyboard player/vocalist. I've got
plenty of "stuff": lights, PA, etc.
LOOKING FOR:
lead-rhythm guitar/bass/drums & percussion
horn section: sax, bone, trumpet
FM vocalists: to do some FM tunes
I think if some of you are still playing, like me, we could
get together 20 or so songs to jam and entertain Friday
night by the pool. We probably could do it w/o practicing
as we have probably all played enough songs from the 60's
to get together and play with a little individual practice
from tapes and charts which I can get to you. I am willing
to co-ordinate something if there are any dedicated
musicians out there willing to do the same. If you are
interested or have some suggestions you can email me at:

where you live, you're either surviving the cold weather,
or, if you're still in Florida, are enjoying the nice
weather we've been having (sorry...don't mean to rub it in
to those in the cold!).

Just wanted to remind everyone of the Class of '66s reunion
on August 24 and 25 and to encourage everyone that's able
to attend it to do it. Do you remember that during our 30
year reunion in August of '99, while everyone was having a
great time dancing, drinking and being with friends, you all
wanted us to have reunions every year?? Well....here is
our chance!!

Since the Class of 66 has been gracious enough to open up
and invite us to join them, why not use this opportunity
for all of us to reunite and not only be able to all get
together again, but also meet alumni from other years, some
that we may already know and some that we may not, but who
we can meet and make new friends?!! I really think that
it'll be fun, not to mention that it's going to be held at
the Starlight Room at the old Doral, overlooking the ocean
and right on the beach where you can walk along the beach
at night with your "honey" and make it a very romantic
evening. I believe that there are lots of us out there
that still enjoy that.

Anyway, I hope you decide to go. I know Vic and I are
looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!

Take care!
Ofe

From: Sherry Watson/Class of 69

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never
liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones that I
do, and the eyesight to tell the difference. Now that I'm
older (but refuse to grow up), here's what I've discovered:
1- I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
2- My wild oats have turned into prunes and All Bran.
3- I finally got my head together; now my body is falling
apart.
4- Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...
5- All reports are in; life is now officially unfair.
6- If all is not lost, where is it?
7- It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.
8- Some days you're the dog; some days you're the hydrant.
9- I wish the buck stopped here; I sure could use a few...
10- Kids in the back seat cause accidents.
11- Accidents in the back seat cause...kids.
12- It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been
anywhere.
13- Only time the world beats a path to your door is when
you're in the bathroom.
14- If God wanted me to touch my toes, he would have put
them on my knees.
15- When I'm finally holding all the cards, why does
everyone decide to play chess?
16- It's not hard to meet expenses... they're everywhere.
17- The only difference between a rut and a grave is the
depth.
18- These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the
hereafter...I go somewhere to get something and then wonder
what I'm here after.
19- UNABLE TO REMEMBER IF I HAVE MAILED THIS TO YOU OR NOT
AND DOUBT IF YOU CAN EITHER.
20. NOT REALLY ! I feel like I am still in High School. Life
is Great and I am happy everyone had a good time..EVEN
though I was not there. I have missed them all, I hope I
will be at one of them. I have worked the last 12 years at
Lockheed Martin Aircraft and recently was laid off due to
downsizing! I miss the good times I had at Hialeah High and
I am sure my brother did also, he graduated in the 70's John
H. Watson (Rudy) Quarter back for Hialeah High.
Is there anyone who knows how to find out the names of Palm
Springs Jr. High Students who were there in 64-65, I can't
remember some of the names but would like to see names and
try to remember some of my Jr. High friends.
Feel Welcome to write me @ Sherrylong@Prtcnet.com

I have several comments to make...all of them good this
time! I haven't had time/taken the time to wright this
letter before...and it is a neccesary one.

Thanks to Ofe and Victor Whitaker, I no longer remember my
high school days with the trepidation I once did.
Apparently when the H.H.S. '69 reunion was being put
together, Ofe Whitaker was touched on the shoulder by our
creator. By some meaqns unknown to me, she came up with my
e-mail address and invited me to the reunion. I can
remember my first thought..."ME, get together with that
group of hippocrits?...never!" I then comminced to sign
this book to that affect. To my surprise, the e-mails
started pouring in. Both with letters of aggreement and
letters of appology from the poeple whom had treated me
badly. I even had a fellow tell me he was comeing 1/2 way
around the world to shake my hand. To make a long story
shorter, Ofe and Victor and several others convinced me to
go to Ft. Lauderdale for the "Class of 69 reunion". I am
thoroughly glad I did. I also attended the Atlanta
gathering. If there is anyway possible, I will be in Miami
for the gathering this month, January 2001.

Thanks again to ALL of those who have made my high school
days a better memory.

Comments?:Hot Damn!! As they used to say when Hialeah was a backwater
redneck town. My sister Christine forwards this site to me
and I'm just freaking out at the obituary of all these
familiar names that're now Dead. To think they once graced
the halls and stairwells (Watchout for the seal!!) of HHS.
Amazingly, my name is not listed, though not for lack of
trying.
Victor Whitaker once tagged me with name "The Man Who Would
Not Die", but as to Victors level of conscienceness, you
have to recall the Mark Twain line - "Those That Can Do,
Those That Can't Teach Phys Ed" to properly assess Vic's
value system. Like most Hialean's, he's a product of the
peculiar atmosphere that is Hialeah, Florida.
Coach Mrazovich told my mother "Yea, the Drug scene left
HHS the year after Jimmy Bushnell graduated". That kind of
sums up my opinion of the whole HHS scene - double-talking,
back-stabbing rumor mongers that thrive on gossip and mis
or malfeasance. School spirit? Sure, wanna snort?? jb/72
