Currently researching my HIBBERT family and having a bit of a nightmare in the process. My GG Grandfather was born in 1858 in Hazel Grove near Stockport in Cheshire England. He later moved to the Congleton/Talke area and married Eunice Stevenson. The problem is I can't find any records of their marriage (around 1879) so I can't prove the next link in the chain. My best guess is that he was the son of John Hibbert and Jane Ramsdale who are on the 1861 census with a young Joseph Hibbert. If anyone has any ideas or advice I'd love to hear from you. This is what was said plus a little. My maternal grandmother was Ima Hibbert, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Hibbert and Lottie Shelton. He moved to Ferris, Texas as a young man from somewhere in Tennessee we think, sometime prior to 1900. Apparently there was some kind of family dispute that made him leave therefore he never spoke of his parents or grandparents. We think his mother died and his dad married Thomas' girlfriend.
