One of your staff was very unprofessional and rude today, when a distressed motorcyclist and a couple of bikes pulled into your parking lot today ( Sunday, August 10, 2008)He immediately came out yelling and demanding that they leave your property immediately without even trying to find out what was going on. His actions were uncalled for. The gentlemans bike had stalled and would not restart and he pulled off into the first safe area he could. It happened to be your parking lot. When asked if he could leave the bike for a tow truck to pick up he was told no.\ He pushed it off the property and coasted down the road to a clearing in the grass. Due to your employees actions ( or perhaps your own) Oh! and was that gun meant as a threat? The group and I are going to make sure that we let everyone we know NOT TO EVER utilize your services due to attitude. We will let it be known via internet, print, billboards, or any other means at our disposal. BTW, the group included a state building inspector, two developer/ builders, an attorney and a prominient real estate broker. In the future, maybe you will realize that just a little human decency can go a long way. D R Holley

Hi Nancy, Carol and I had the greatest time touring the Smokies. After you dropped us off at 7 pm we motored up to Shuckshank Tower, what a view at night with all the dam lights lit up. Then on to the campsite, we were in the dark for an hour, but our little photon lights did the job. The next day Robin, still walking, caught us and we saw her off and on through out the park. We got three days ahead of our schedule and changed out permit when we went into Gatlinburg for our mail drop. Carol was ready to rest when we got to Standing Bear, we had done 18 miles that day because she wanted a hot shower and a bed! So the next day I went on with Robin, that day we went 20 miles! These thru hikers don't waste any daylight. I got my first blister that day so the next morning I started hiking in my crocs, not knowing how far I'd get. Well six hours and 13 miles later I pulled into Hot springs, no worse for wear. We spent the next couple of nights at Elmer's Sunnybank Inn. Sat in the hot springs, and did a kayak trip on the French Broad River. I can't wait to get back on the trail. I'll be doing Shenandoah NP in Sept. Thanks for all your wonderful help, Karen

Jeff and Nancy: Just stopped by to say hello from Kabul, Afghanistan. Having a great time here, the temps are mighty cold at night, the day is mighty comfortable. Good weather for a hike, cannot do that! Hope all is well with you both. If Pigpen stops in, tell him I say hello. Next stop will be Pretoria, South Africa where the temps are summerish. I need that to thaw out. drdick

My friend, Jason, and I enjoyed staying with you two, Jeff and Nancy. Your knowledge of the area and ability to relate to hikers helped us as we set off on our hike through the Smokies. Although we didn't complete our goal, your hospitality made it more enjoyable. I'll be back after Christmas (2003) to hike the A.T. through the Smokies. Perhaps we'll stop in to visit!
