since I saw the Ferraro brothers at the Junior World Championships in Füssen, Germany in 1992, I follow their careers from time to time. While the TV-cameras mostly followed Eric Lindros at the before-mentioned tournament (think it was the years after Lindros got drafted and refused to play in Quebec), Team USA with key players Chris and Peter beat Team Canada (5-1 ?) on their way to the bronze medal. Oh, what a sucker Lindros was - even back then at the beginning of his pro career! Giving interviews from the bench while the game was going on and complaining at the refs when not credited rightfully for an assist he made. Unfortunately, only my friends and a few others were cheering for USA and booing Lindros, but it was fun anyway. Keep on goin' to the games! Friedl |

| Comments: | I happened to be watching TV tonight and I came across MSG doing a bit on the Jennifer Farraro Foundation Golf Outing. Being an avid golfer and also a pay-to-play hockey player, I was glued to the tube. The part that really struck home was the pain in Peters face when he was interviewed and asked about Jennifer. Now, I don't know them personally, but I just lost my only sibling, Michelle (32), in June to breast cancer and I can sure relate. It really made me feel good to see these players came together for such a great cause. This disease takes too many wonderful people way before their time. Because of this disease my two nephews have to grow up without such a wonderful person in their lives. To see the people that make an abundents of money playing a sport, take their time and money to help rid ourselves of this disease in the future helps me realize why I call them my heros. The funny thing is after all that has happened these past couple of months, if I was the one making multi millions of dollars playing hockey, I would give it all away just to see my sister just one more time. I would play the game for free if I had to. I'm sure Peter would do the same for Jennifer.
If anyone knows more about the Jennifer Ferraro Foundation Golf Outing please let me know if this is a closed outing or if "regular" people are allowed to participate and show their support for a cure. Thank you for this outlet......... Rob Kicinski |

I was home in DBQ for mother's day and came accross an article in the local paper regrading the World Championship. I went to high school with the twins and played on the high school soccer team with both of them. I've been wondering how they have been and where they have been playing as both of them are tremendous athletes and extremely nice, genuine guys. My sympathies go out to the family for their loss. that was the best move the portland pirates could have ever done, gain the talent, and team work of the ferraro brothers. i have followed the brothers ever sence they played for maine in the 1992 1993 championship. they are my all time most favroite players in the hole wide world. i think i gain most if not all my talent for playing hockey from peter, and chris ferraro, just watching them play makes me get better at the game. and i jsut wanted to say one thing " you are my role models peter and chris". and im sorry about every thing that has happend to you in the past Chris, but im glad that peter was there for you like a brother should be. thank you kristy for making this site Ryan. |

i am a season ticket holder at the portland pirates. i was at one of the home games this year, and i noticed that peter and chris ferraro, the brothers, or so called cry babbies according to ashley witmer,were not only brothers but team mates, they work together as a team and basicly live as a team. the ferraro brothers put a big "i mean big" impression on me. ever sence i was a little kid i loved the game of hockey, but peter and chris ferraro made my love of the game grow alot more then ever. when i woke up the morning after chris's harsh day, i read in the paper that his wife jennifer had past, i went into complete shock. but i knew chris would have his brother peter, and the rest of his family by his side, and help him through it all, but most of all im glad to have seen chris play in the rest of the season and the play offs, i just wanted to say, " chris, my heart goes out to you and your family" PETER AND CHRIS I HOPE TO SEE YOU PLAYING NEXT YEAR..... |

I was surprised that they hadn't packed up to go back to New York since the season ended last weekend.Peter told me that following the disappointing defeat on Sunday, Monday morning they received a phone call from the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) asking them to go to Finland and join the USA Men's National Team.Chris said that they'll play for Team USA for three weeks and then return to Long Island for the rest of the summer. | Comments: | Ashley you are an idiot....I would agree the Ferraro brothers are winners (not the whiner that you are). I assume that you are a Pirates fan. The Ferraros have given the Pirates the spark that they have needed all season. They play with the heart and ferocity (yes that is party of hockey honey!) of players twice their size.
I was fortunate enough to run into both Peter and Chris as well as line mate Matt Pettinger at dinner the other evening. They were very pleasant and mild mannered in their demenor. There were no "big heads" in the group. The three of them kept passing all the accolades to the other parties. I was quite impressed. As far as life time AHLers... They have both played nearly 100 NHL games and they are doing their intended jobs for the Capitals organization. They are helping develop younger players (the maturity and increased defensive abilities of Pettinger are directly attributed to playing with these 2) and to be available in the event they are needed in Washington. My hats off to the twins. They are an asset to the team and they emphathize what a "professional" is. |

I grew up in Connecticut, and I would sometimes attend Whalers games with my dad. One afternoon, I noticed a player on the away team who seemed very aware, very alert on the ice. He appeared thoroughly ready to help his team play a good game. His mind and skates, equally fast, really stunned me (and the Hartford team). The way he moved... he felt it! he knew it! I have to admit that I don't know a lot about hockey, but that day, Peter Ferraro left such an impression on me. He made hockey an emotion, even passionate, a form of art. For many people, it's music or writing or painting, but that day I was convinced that hockey is a true form of expression. I've moved to Maine. And I like to read the newspaper. Yesterday, I was surprised to stumble across an article about Chris and Jennifer Ferraro. I was sad to learn of the struggle and Jennifer's passing. But I was glad to learn how Chris took care of her, and how Peter helped Chris, and I'm glad that Jennifer is resting now. I believe that everyone is meant to teach something to everyone else. | Comments: | When I was teenager growing up in exile from my native Boston in Sound Beach, NY my friends and I used to play roller hockey in the parking lot of the local fire department. At first the firefighters didn't mind but eventually as our games got bigger and we dented a few cars they asked us to find someplace else to play. My friend Joe said he "knew an awesome place" that was perfect for us.
He said he just had to ask somebody if we could use. It turned out to the Ferraro family's backyard roller hockey rink, and they let use it gratis whenever we wanted. I knew the twins played hockey but I had never seen them before so when these two guys we didn't know came to the rink with sticks we were a little worried, thinking them to be older guys coming to mess with us. It turned out to be Peter & Chris, who shot around with us for an afternoon and showed us some pointers. Nicer guys you'll never meet. I wish them all they success they richly deserve. Islander fans though they are =) |
