You know God can teach us so much if we will listen,I was riding down the road the other day I looked over, there was a feild of sunflowers.Sunflowers face the sun as its coming up in the morning they follow the sun all day until it sets in the west.God showed me that we should be like the sunflower and always face the( SON)meaning His son.

COMMENTS	Hey Everyone! I just wanted to say that I had an amazing time at Erin's this past weekend in Tenn. We participated in Operation Serve (its like what counts here). They had over 600 people particpate, and it was just a wonderful day! We also had starbucks, late night talks, and an AWESOME church service on Sunday! Christian Community is the heartbeat of that church! They wear jeans, shorts whatever and noone looks shocked to see it! It was great! The worship leader is a guy named Daniel Doss who was recently signed a record deal. I am looking forward to sharing a lot of the stories that I brought home with me! By the way, the trip wouldn't be complete without a crisis, so yea...Rachel broke out in a horrific rash, and after this morning taking her to the doctor she has hives, adn pneumonia! good grief!!!!!! Zach Splawn was also on the back of the "hometown" section of the Gazette today. Last night was great! MICHAEL ARMSTRONG was saved last night... He was relieved and excited all at once. He said "I can't believe I didn't do this a long time ago..." So many of you know him from Southwest. He is now in the 9th grade at Highland. A lot of people have been praying for him a long time. Good Job! to those who have been so consistent. Nathan and Oscar are gettting baptized this Sunday morning... I'm sure they'll appreciate you being there. God's working hard through FOCUS... keep it up!!

COMMENTS	SYATP went great! I can't believe how many schools our youth group represents: Huss, Kings Mountain, Highland Tech, Ashbrook, Forestveiw, South Point, Clover, Southwest... and several others. At Huss, it was more like "See FOCUS at the Pole") Huss had a total of 63, the majority were from FOCUS. I saw a lot of people who have visited us before. There were only a handful that I met for the first time this morning. Oscar, Peavy and Meg C. spoke a lot and led us in singing. I can't wait to hear about everybody's experiences tonight! Remember, last week we had 83, let's hit 100 tonight! Oh yeah, people at Huss don't forget about the Bible Study after school organized by Oscar and Peav!! I'm very proud of everybody!!

We had 84 at Kings Mountain, including an older couple from the FCS at Gardner Webb, the youth pastors from Faith Baptist & First Baptist in Kings Mountain, and the girls volleyball coach and the Men's basketball coach, Rick Franklin, who used to be at Victory Christian in Gastonia. It was a good turnout!!

I have often questioned what God's purpose was...and then when I experience what I did last night, and watch Richard bring God's word the way that he does. I realize that God has us right where we need to be. Billy Graham once said "Christians are their own worse enemies" and I can truly say....THAT IS TRUE! after hearing Richard's lesson last night, I realized that I don't pray for the people that consider me an enemy! or the people who drive me CRAZY! COMMENTS	Just wanted to let everybody know that I talked to Meaggan's mon this morning. She is doing well but will be in the hospital for a couple more days! She had her appendix removed! It was severely infected and that was what was making her sick at the beach this past weekend. She's still on antibiotics because the infection was so bad and that's why she'll be in the hospital a few more days! Keep her in your prayers! See ya'll tonight!!

COMMENTS	Hey everyone im in college now missing you guys like crazy i know its not been long but you guys are all amazing. I went to a church this morning here near the college and when it was over i said it sure aint Chapel Grove not that i didnt enjoy church its just you guys really made me a home there at Chapel Grove and its the hardest thing to say bye for a while. I learned something from everyone of you in the youth your all amazing and God is using each and everyone of you in some way just leave your self open for him to continue using you guys. I know i was older then the rest of you cause i finished my first year of college already now im on my second but i tell you something "FOCUS" really inspired me. I wanted to say something Wednesday night before i left knowing it would be my last for a while. Mainly to the seniors who are about to go to College if your reading this please pay attention. When you get to college if you are going somewhere that you want be able to come back to CHapel Grove Baptist for a while find a church immediately now i know its going to be hard and i know it want be your home church but i promise you the devil will began working on you as soon as you leave. The longer you take to find a church to attend while your in college the more time you spend out of church and the more time the devil has to work on you. Believe me i know from experience. As i already said i finished one year of college already and im going to be honest with all of you. I came to college and i didnt look for a church right off the bat i took a lil time which a month went bye and i didnt havea church to go to at college which meant that was a month i was out of Gods Word. That month turned out to be the whole year i went 7 months without going to church except for when ic ame home from christmas and my parents made me go. It wasnt fun i struggled and i cried and i felt so alone because all anyone done was curse, drink and get in trouble i fell away from God becasue i put off what could have been done in my spare time i felt like no one cared and i was scared. THe devil worked on me till i just didnt care about going back it didnt bother me that i was out of church because i was out for so long. But now i can thank God and I can thank Christy Ledford for me being in church because she invited me to Chapel Grove as a visit who knew i would have made it my home and stayed in church all through out summer. Now i feel lost if i miss one sunday. Thank You Christy Your A True Blessing And I Love You, God is really working through you. So please im begging you seniors who are leaving for college make finding a local church your first priority i did i went this morning cause i knew if i didnt start the logner i was out the further from God i would be. Now to the rest of the youth who arent graduating I LOVE YOU ALL. You guys are now "FOCUS" as a hole until new comers began coming in. You have to step up and you have to bring others in. You have to be there for each other because a spiritual friend is the most important kind.You need each other when the devil strikes because when one person falls away from God and he/she brings another with them it begans spreading like fire you need to not let the spark you have be from the devil it needs to be from God let Gods flame burn all throughout "FOCUS" I looked at the youth where i went to church this morning and i watched a guy go down to the alter everyone just watched him, you really dont realize how lucky you all are to have a friends in the youth that back you up and pray for you so much and will always be there for you, because i went down to the alter and prayed for that guy no one followed but everyone stared, i brought something with me to college and thats the love i recieved from everyone of you in "FOCUS" now what i learned from all of you i can share with others, The best thing ive heard since ive been in college these few days from several people is "BRAD YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR ALL CHURCHY AND STUFF" i smiled at them and said yep its contagious haha. COMMENTS	Hey everyone im in college now missing you guys like crazy i know its not been long but you guys are all amazing. I went to a church this morning here near the college and when it was over i said it sure aint Chapel Grove not that i didnt enjoy church its just you guys really made me a home there at Chapel Grove and its the hardest thing to say bye for a while. I learned something from everyone of you in the youth your all amazing and God is using each and everyone of you in some way just leave your self open for him to continue using you guys. I know i was older then the rest of you cause i finished my first year of college already now im on my second but i tell you something "FOCUS" really inspired me. I wanted to say something Wednesday night before i left knowing it would be my last for a while. Mainly to the seniors who are about to go to College if your reading this please pay attention. When you get to college if you are going somewhere that you want be able to come back to CHapel Grove Baptist for a while find a church immediately now i know its going to be hard and i know it want be your home church but i promise you the devil will began working on you as soon as you leave. The longer you take to find a church to attend while your in college the more time you spend out of church and the more time the devil has to work on you. Believe me i know from experience. As i already said i finished one year of college already and im going to be honest with all of you. I came to college and i didnt look for a church right off the bat i took a lil time which a month went bye and i didnt havea church to go to at college which meant that was a month i was out of Gods Word. That month turned out to be the whole year i went 7 months without going to church except for when ic ame home from christmas and my parents made me go. It wasnt fun i struggled and i cried and i felt so alone because all anyone done was curse, drink and get in trouble i fell away from God becasue i put off what could have been done in my spare time i felt like no one cared and i was scared. THe devil worked on me till i just didnt care about going back it didnt bother me that i was out of church because i was out for so long. But now i can thank God and I can thank Christy Ledford for me being in church because she invited me to Chapel Grove as a visit who knew i would have made it my home and stayed in church all through out summer. Now i feel lost if i miss one sunday. Thank You Christy Your A True Blessing And I Love You, God is really working through you. So please im begging you seniors who are leaving for college make finding a local church your first priority i did i went this morning cause i knew if i didnt start the logner i was out the further from God i would be. Now to the rest of the youth who arent graduating I LOVE YOU ALL. You guys are now "FOCUS" as a hole until new comers began coming in. You have to step up and you have to bring others in. You have to be there for each other because a spiritual friend is the most important kind.You need each other when the devil strikes because when one person falls away from God and he/she brings another with them it begans spreading like fire you need to not let the spark you have be from the devil it needs to be from God let Gods flame burn all throughout "FOCUS" I looked at the youth where i went to church this morning and i watched a guy go down to the alter everyone just watched him, you really dont realize how lucky you all are to have a friends in the youth that back you up and pray for you so much and will always be there for you, because i went down to the alter and prayed for that guy no one followed but everyone stared, i brought something with me to college and thats the love i recieved from everyone of you in "FOCUS" now what i learned from all of you i can share with others, The best thing ive heard since ive been in college these few days from several people is "BRAD YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR ALL CHURCHY AND STUFF" i smiled at them and said yep its contagious haha. COMMENTS	Well Hello FOCUS....long time no see. I can not believe that the summer is almost over...at least for considering that I have next week off and then I hvae to go back to work. The end of the summer also becomes a reality as our seniors began to depart for the next chapters in their lives. Today is bitter sweet as we say good-bye to Ashley and Brad...they are the start of the pack leaving. We all can have mixed emotions about seniors leaving happy for them but also sad knowing that we are losing people that have im[pacted our group in various ways. Good luck to all of you. But on another note I can not wait until our new members move up. This is going to be a fun adventure as we all will be given the opportunity to get to know them. Well unfortunately if you are not participating in the guy's Sunday school class, then nothing right now, but for those who are here is your challenge: When I get up to teach Sunday,after the I ask "Who has their Bible?" the FIRST person to shout out the meaning of the name ELIJAH will get nice tribute. COMMENTS	Read this morning..... thought I would pass along...... 2 Corinthians 12:10 (The Message) 7-10Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size�abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.
