| Comments: | I was just looking through information about Honduras and found a page listing people looking for their children among other things. I was born in Honduras in 1988, Jan. 4th. My original name was Maria-Luisa Castro. I know records were basically non-existent at the time of my adoption, and we do have papers...Honestly I have not looked at them since I was very young. Naturally I have an interest in my biological family. I have read so much about Honduras, and I used to be a lot more involved then I am now, college does take most of my time (haha) but I did however raise a good amount of money after the hurricane Mitch hit, as well as helped in sending glasses and school supplies to Honduras. I really would LOVE to meet my mother one day...and I believe I can find her...If I really focus all my time on it for a bit. I think I was actually born in Comayagua...But I can't remember, I was adopted at 6 months old. I would love to visit there as soon as I can. And I plan to have my honeymoon with my fiance there, not to mention retire there. And as a side note my fiance's brothers wife and family is from Honduras, which I didn't know till I met him, and he of course didn't know I was from there till later. Crazy huh? I doubt anyone has any information on Me or my Family, but I figured it was worth a shot, and just thought I would share to people who might understand.

| Comments: | I was adopted by Americans but that was through being in Foster Care here in the United States. I came in 1996 of November and was in Foster Care for almost seven years until finally I made the decision to be adopted. I've always wondered if it would've been easier to have been adopted from Honduras instead of the way it happened with me. |

| Comments: | I have been to this site a couple of times and was a little hesitant to write because I am not sure how often people check this site or how updated this page is but I guess I will not lose anything by trying. My name is Dana, 25 years old and was adopted from Honduras (Tegu.) when I was 2 years old. I have been living in Philadelphia Pennsylvania ever since then. I am on this site for 2 reasons: 1) to find out how to get more information on my adoption... where to start etc.
2) To share my story with other children or adults that may have been adopted from Honduras. I can help give you advice and I can be someone to listen to you and your stroy. I know how hard and frustrating things can be for people like us who are looking for so many answers... my advice is "do not give up". So if you just want to talk or anything feel free to e-mail me... Ciao y Paz Danita |

Gracias. Jeanette |

| Comments: | I just wanted to commend everyone who has, or is trying to adopt from Honduras. Though I am only 20 years old, I am very familiar with the country. For the past 7 summers, I have spent at least 2 weeks (sometimes months) in the country, doing mission work and helping those less fortunante. The people and country are all so beautiful. From what I have heard and researched, the process is very long and tedious....but hang in there, for you are in the process of changing a child's life forever. Congratulations to all of those who have your Honduran
child(s), and good luck to all of those in the process. Hopefully, one day, I'll be in the Honduran Adoption Process myself!! Dios le bendiga!! |

| Comments: | We adopted in the summer of 1984. Jenny from Tegucigalpa and Therese from El Progresso. I want to take the girls back this summer; they're 18 now, to do some volunteer work. Want to visit both Teguc & El Progresso. Am getting mixed advice about the safety of the three of us traveling without a male. How's the safety situation?
The airfare is so costly; any suggestions for safe, economical accomodations in Teguc? Thank you ! May God bless you +++ |

| Comments: | Greetings to all my fellow adoptive parents. I have a 16-
year old daughter who was born in 1985 in Tegucigalpa. She's a great kid and a good student-athlete. We haven't been back to Honduras since our 1988 adoption, but she would like to go back when we/she can make the trip. I am a writer/novelist and have written two novels, one of which (Finding Isabella, Genesis Press, 2000) is based on our adoption experiences in Honduras and El Salvador. It explores international adoption from all major points of view including the siblings left behind to grow up in the poverty that our children have escaped. I think you would enjoy reading it. |
