I need some help. We had a Blenheim King charles cavalier bitch over a year ago now, We brought her for my daughter, We were not aware that she had a weak heart and when she was just a year old she collapsed and died. This broke all of our hearts as she settled so quickly into our family life. The problem is my 4 year old daughter is still devasted and desperate for another one. My interest has formed since agreeing to buy a pupply cavalier who comes home to us at the end of February. I have been using the breed info to assess whether the Cavalier was the right dog for us as a family: myself, daughter aged 11 and my mother, and it seems to have been a great choice. I enjoy the site a lot and have found it very informative and helpful, and has given me confidence in the decision I have made, and I plan to join the regional club as soon as baby is old enough! | Comments: | One month ago today (June 11, 2001)I purchased a 4 month old female Bleinheim Cavalier "Gracie" from a local pet store. The store obtains the pups from Ireland. She was put to sleep a couple of days ago. She and another female she traveled with died of distemper. A disease I hope no one has to experience the pain of watching. I had been looking for a female Cavalier for quite some time before I was lucky enough to find Gracie. She was the sweetest, most beautiful baby and suffered so in her short life. I would like to adopt again. I life in Florida / USA. And would be very interested in adopting again very soon. Our family misses Gracie very much, but still have lots of love to give. |

called Rupert. He is about two & half years old. He has an excellent pedigree, with 2 champions as grandparents. At last visit to our vets he has no evidence of MVD or eye problems. The family adore the breed and have considered getting a rather special ruby girlfriend for him. I have done some research into breeding and would appreciate more advice. the $1000.00 plus that it costs to but a Cavalier puppy. a black and tan called emily, and upon my doctors order had to rehome her, as he said i was allergic to her. Apon testing, it was found i was not allergic to dogs. I was really upset.
