I was searching the net for some information on Cavalier KC dogs .I am a retired Nurse in my late sixties and have just inherited my daughters 20 month old C.K.C.dog she is expecting her 2nd child and is unable to cope with Chico named by his owner my seven year old Grandson. He is not happy parting with him but is now OK since I have decided to take him as both my grandson and Chico spend a lot of time with me I live a walking distance am beside a lovely beach and have a big garden doggy heaven. Its the first time I have handled this particular breed having had westies in the past. He is a poor eater will only eat the food we eat eg chicken beef lamb etc but he needs dried food as well but wont eat it he only picks at the chunky meaty pieces. What do you recommend can anybody help.I would really appreciate it I live in Ireland . Thank you so much. Eibhlin |

I have a rescue border collie cross approx 8 months old, and having been very very poorly, we have recently found out that he has fluid on the brain and spine. He still loves his food and my vet says his heart is still very strong. |

| Comments: | We bought our tri-boy last year after loosing our two other staff dogs three years previously. My husband wasn't keen as he thought cavs were a bit yappy. Cory has changed his mind as our boy is anything but yappy. He is a big boy for this breed and has a wonderful temperament. He is everthing we wished for and more, if you want to just sit and relax, Cory will sit and watch TV with you, if you want to play, he's the life and soal of the party and loves the trampoline, can you imagine a cavvie doing the wall of death ? I believe the secret is treating him like he's a bigger dog, that way he doesn't get "little dog syndrome" and get snappy. I bore everyone to death about how wonderful this boy is, he is my angel and we love him. |

| Comments: | I have always had boxers I grew up with them and continued to have them after my marriage. My husband always fancied having a cavalier, so after my last boxer sadly left us he had his wish. We went to a breeder who had two boy puppies left. my husband chose the one he wanted and off home we went. I couldn't stop thinking of the one we had left behind so two days later we went back and bought him as well. Sadly this one died less than two weeks later, The puppy we had left looked so lonely on his own we were so used to seeing the two of them come running to us, playing together, it broke our hearts. So after getting the all clear from the vets that there was nothing contagious that could hurt our remaining puppy and a new one, we started to look for another puppy. luckily we found one only four days younger than ours. They instantly took to each other, we still mourned our lost puppy but it was so nice seeing them both so happy together. That was nearly four months ago, the first pup is a lot bigger than the newer one I suppose that is the different breeding.I am so glad my husband introduced me to this breed they are wonderful little dogs. Since buying ours my daughter has bought a tri-colour boy and my son has bought a tri-colour girl ours are blenheims.This breed is so endearing it is hard to resist them. From me a dedicated boxer lover this is praise indeed |

Do male cavs become agressive if they aren't neutered? I believe that he comes from a Champion line and the possibility of breeding him might be available...however...we also have 2 cats that will need to learn to socialize with him. I was thinking about getting him "fixed" but I have read no where that males become agressive when they mature. |
